하동관 본점에서 특곰탕을 먹었습니다. 최근에 강남점은 몇번 갔지만, 본점은 이전 한 후 처음이였습니다. 이전하기 전의 하동관은 조금만 한눈 팔면 미끄러질 것 같은 기름기가 가득한 식당바닥이 인상적이였는데, 이전한 이곳도 그리 고급스러운 모습은 아니였습니다. 하지만 이전보다는 깨끗해졌지요. 사실 곰탕 같은 국물음식이 양반의 음식이거나 고급 음식은 아니지요. 조선시대의 패스트 푸드라고 할 까요. 하동관은 곰탕이 조선시대의 패스트푸드라는 것을 잘 알려주는 식당입니다. 입구에서 주문하면 선불을 받고 일행이 적을 경우 합석을 해서 밥을 먹습니다. (조선시대의 주막의 모습을 드라마에서 보면 양반들은 방에서 독상으로 먹고, 양민들은 대청에서 겸상하는 경우가 많은데 그것이 잘 연상이 됩니다.) 가격은 하동관 강남점에 비하면 저렴한 1000원 (특) 12000원입니다. 강남점은 15000원 부터 그냥 곰탕을 먹을 수 있으니, 강남점에 비하면 저렴합니다.
아마도 기름을 넣어달라고 하면 넣어 주겠지만, 솔직히 그런 분위기는 아닙니다. 하동관 본점은 강남점과 다르다고 강조를 하는데,
대신 이렇게 파를 잔뜩 올려서 먹습니다. 강남점에 비하면 국물이 묽은 듯한 느낌이 들고, 고소한 기름맛도 덜합니다. 본점의 홈페이지를 보면 강남점과 다르다는 것을 강조해 놓았는데, 가격도 다르고, 맛도 다릅니다. 그래도 한우로 우린 고깃국물 한 그릇을 먹을 수 있으니, 뼈국물 한 그릇보다는 보람찬 느낌이 듭니다.
