제가 00년생(12월생)이라 만 19세가 되는 해인 2019년에 신체검사를 받아야 하는데요. 까먹고 있다가 4월 말까지 신청을 안 했더니, 신검 날짜가 임의로 지정된다고 하더라고요. 언제 받든 상관 없긴 한데, 궁금한 것은 임의로 지정된 날짜가 언제 통보되는지입니다. 가령 8월 27일로 정했으면 8월 7일에는 통지서 발송해주는지, 대강 파악하고 계신 분은 알려주시면 감사하겠습니다. 근데 진짜 질문은 공익 폐지 관련인데요. ILO라는 기관에서 (사회복무제도를 강제노동으로 보아 폐지시키려는 내용이 포함된) 핵심협약 비준을 권고하고 있고, EU와 10년 전 쯤 맺었던 한-EU FTA에서도 'ILO 핵심협약 비준에 대한 노력'을 조항으로 넣어 둬서, 협약에 비준하지 않으면 분쟁해결 결과에 따라 경제제재까지 이어질 수 있다고 들었습니다. 그런데 제가 예비 공익러라서요.. BMI 17 미만은 재검사 후 4급 판정이라는데, 학교 보건실에서 재보니 16.7이 나왔습니다. 하지만 ILO 협약 비준으로 사회복무제도가 없어지면 현역으로 전환되지 않을까 생각이 들더라고요. 이미 공익으로 근무하고 있는 사람들이야 불소급 원칙이 적용돼 아무 영향이 없겠지만 저는 아직 신검도 안 받아서 근무지가 정해지고 근무하는 시점이 한참 멀었잖아요. 그래서 새 법률이 도입될 시간이 충분하니 궁금해졌습니다. 더군다나 저체중/과체중으로 4급 판정받은 사람들은 현역으로 보내도 되지 않느냐라는 여론이 있으니까요. 요약하자면 1) 신검일 미신청자의 검사날짜 통보는 며칠 전에 해주는가 2) 이번 ILO 핵심협약 비준으로 사회복무제도가 폐지될 가능성은 어느 정도인가 3) 폐지된다면, BMI로 공익 판정을 받았으나 아직 근무를 시작하지 않은 남자들은 현역으로 전환되는가 이렇습니다!!
