| Subject | 컴퓨터 파일 관리 어떻게 하시나요? |
 개인적으로 OS에서 기본적으로 제공하는 폴더 트리를 이용해서 나름 합리적으로 정리해놓고 쓴다고 생각했는데, 동기의 정리 목록이 좀 색다르게 다가왔네요. 저도 나름 1800여편 정도의 영화를 외장하드 두 개에 저장해놓고 필요할때마다 찾아보는 편인데, 제 동기는 그 수가 8000여편정도 되더군요. 다운받아서 모은 것도 있지만, 아버님이 젊을 때부터 모아놓으셨던 비디오-DVD-블루레이 타이틀이 3000여편정도 되는데 전부 디지타이징 받아서 정리해놓았더라구요. 하는데만 6~7년 걸렸다고 하네요. 매 주에 몇개씩 꾸준히 해왔다고. 그래서 영화 좀 보여줘 하고 컴퓨터를 켰는데, 제가 전혀 알 수 없는 폴더명으로 정리되어 있는 겁니다. 같은 폴더에 넣어놓은 메모장을 열어봤더니, 그게 인덱스처럼 정리된 텍스트 파일이더라구요. 영화 목록과 파일분류법이 정리되어 있었는데 꽤나 인상적이었습니다. 예를 들어 폴더 명이 003US23_goy_Msc 이런식이더라구요. 이게 마틴 스콜세지의 갱스 오브 뉴욕이라는 겁니다. (년도국적번호_제목축약_감독이름) 그래서 감독 이름을 알고 있으면 Msc를 쳐서 goy를 보면 대충 제목을 짐작할 수 있다구요. 2000~3000여편 정도 였을 때는 지금 제가 정리해놓은 방식이랑 굉장히 흡사하게 정리해두었고, 기억에 많은 부분 의존해서 찾았다고 했고, 5000여편 가까이 될 때는 정확히 기억나면 바로 찾을 수 있어 상관이 없는데, 감독이나 영화명, 개봉연도가 정확히 기억이 안나면 찾는데 한세월 걸려, 파일에 태그 붙여주고, 이것저것 정리하기 편하게 해주는 외부 프로그램을 사서 썼다고 하는데, 그거 정리하던 와중에 컴퓨터를 한번 바꿨는데, 거기에 프로그램이 호환이 제대로 안되어가지고 1000여 편 정리한거 통째로 날렸다고... 그때부터 그냥 윈도우 맥 상관없이 기본 폴더 구조만 최대한 활용할 수 있는 방식으로 정리했다고 합니다. 굳이 엑셀로 리스트를 안 만들고 txt로 만든 것도 혹시나 엑셀시트를 못쓰면 어쩔까 싶어(그런경우는 한번도 없었다고 하지만...) 복잡한 리스트가 아니라 단순 나열만 하면 되니 txt에 정리했다고 하네요. 사실 8000편 정리해놓은건 영화파일 수집하는 취미정도로 이해해야한다고.. 자기도 다시 자주 찾아보게 되는건 사실 100여편도 안된다고 하네요. 그래서 Favorite 폴더에 따로 200~300여편 정리를 해두었더라구요. 지금도 정리하는데 만만치 않은 시간을 들여와서 이 방식이 꽤 불편하더라도 엄청나게 획기적인 방법이 아니면 굳이 바꾸고 싶지 않다고 하고, 혼자만 쓰는거면 이것저것 많이 해볼텐데, 아버지랑 동생이랑 셋이서 같이 정리작업도 하고, 디지타이징도 하고, 영화도 같이 보고 해서 번거로운걸 싫어하는 모양입니다. 저는 폴더에 영화제목, 개봉년도 정도만 기록해 두고, 감독이라던지 기타 정보는 기억에 의존해서 찾는 편인데요, 갑자기 잘 아는 감독 이름도 기억이 안날때도 있고, 한국어로 적어두면 스콜세지, 스콜시지 등 검색어 란에 입력하기 모호할때가 많아 Scorsese로 적어놓는 편입니다. 한국 영화는 한국어로 적어두고, 그외 비영어권 국가 영화는 국내 개봉명 - 없으면 영문 제목으로 정리해두고요. 근데 가끔 감독별로 쫙 정리해서 빠진 작품 채워넣거나 하고 싶을때는 전적으로 기억에 의존해야 하더군요. 그래서 똑같은 영화를 또 번거롭게 구해놔서 중복될 때도 있고, 있다고 생각한 영화는 막상 봐야할 때 없어서 또 새로 구해야하고... 저는 영화 라이브러리도 다양한 종류의 많은 파일을 정리해야 했지만, 편집실에서는 또 날짜별로 들어온 소스들 효율적으로 정리해야하는데, 약간 다른 방향에서 효율성이 필요하더라구요. 디렉토리 구조에서 하위 폴더가 서너개만 되어도, 매번 그 폴더 열때마다 서너번 안쪽 폴더를 열어야하니 이런게 한두번이면 모르겠는데, 하루에도 수시로 그럴때가 많아 한 폴더 명에 최대한 많은 정보를 담아주고, 하위폴더는 최소하 시키는 방향으로 정리하고 있죠. 영화나 편집 때 뿐만 아니라, 컴퓨터로 문서나 각종 파일들 다룰때는 더 복잡하게 정리하셔야 될 상황이 많으실텐데 팁이나 노하우 있으면 공유해보자는 차원해서 원래는 질게에 올리려했는데, 자게에 올려봅니다. 여러 폴더를 한 번에 뒤질 수 있는 툴의 도움을 받는게 가장 좋지 않은가 싶네요.
그러기 힘들다면 폴더를 여러개로 나눠놓는 것 보다 친구 분 처럼 규칙을 만들어 정리하는 방식이 좋은 것 같구요.
저는 일하는 것 외에는 대충 그 때 그 때 느낌대로 정리하는 편입니다.
정리가 잘 안되는 편이죠. 흐흐
