* 사실 이 영화는 스포를 하고 싶어도 할 게 없는 게... 영화의 스토리라는 게 딱히 없습니다. 너무 직선적이라서 앞으로 뭐가 나올지 눈에 훤히 보이는 데다가 너무 영화가 정신없이 지나가서 스토리를 생각할 겨를이 없다고 할까요. 까놓고 말해 너무 뻔하게 만든 영화고, 또 그걸 목적으로 한 영화라 스토리에 관해서는 썰 풀 게 딱히 없습니다. 이 영화의 의의는 FPS를 영화로 옮겨놨다는데 있습니다. 먼저 예고편을 보시죠. 보시다시피 이 영화는 처음부터 끝까지 1인칭으로 진행됩니다. 잠에서 깨어난 주인공은 기억도 없고 말도 못 합니다. 뭐가 뭔지 모르는 상황에서 갑자기 도망다니고 싸워야 하는 신세고, 정신없이 뛰어다니고 총을 쏘고 육탄전을 벌이면서 붙잡힌 여주인공을 되찾고 악당에게 복수해야 합니다. 비현실적이고 개연성 없는 조연의 출현은 전형적인 미션 던져주는 NPC고, 주인공의 이동이나 액션의 준비자세는 마치 둠1이나 울펜슈타인 3D를 보는 듯 합니다. 그렇습니다. 이건 FPS를 영화로 옮겨놓은 겁니다. 여기에 정신없는 파쿠르 액션을 추가하고, 유혈이 낭자하더라도 아무렇지 않게 팝콘을 먹을 수 있는 경쾌한 BGM을 깔아주고, 미친듯이 죽이고 죽이고 죽이는 영화입니다. 하드코어라는 이름에 걸맞게 정말 하드코어한데 제가 영화를 많이 보지는 않았습니다만 이렇게 다양한 방식으로 잔인하게 사람을 죽여대는 영화는 처음입니다. 맨손, 나이프, 경찰봉, 권총, 소총, 샷건, 기관단총, 개틀링, 바주카, 박격포, 수류탄 등등 다양한 무기로 찌르고 쏘고 베고 자르고 눌러 죽입니다. 새벽의 저주 같은 좀비물이 연출 덕에 쫄깃한 무서움은 있을지언정 잔인함으로는 귀엽게 느껴질 정도입니다. 폭력성 외에도 직접적인 베드신은 없지만 스트립걸들이 훌러덩 벗고 나오고, 마약도 나와주시고, 시체 훼손도 나오고 이건 뭐 어떻게 심의를 통과했나 싶을 정도. 어찌보면 그만큼 우리나라가 영화 심의 규정이 많이 널널해졌다고 볼 수 있을지도? 한 번 생각난 김에 영상물 등급위원회 가보니까 주제, 선정성, 폭력성, 대사, 공포, 약물, 모방위험 모두 빨간색(높음)이네요. 이게 매우 높음이 아니야? 싶어서 생각나는 하드코어 영화들 뒤져보니 매우높음 나오는 건 그 유명한 세르비안 필름 뿐이군요 하하하;;; 아무튼 이 영화의 장점은 과격하고 자극적인 액션이고, 1인칭인 만큼 몰입감도 상당합니다. 깨알같은 게임/영화 패러디는 덤이고요. 단점이라면 화면전환이 너무 빨라서 정신없다 못해 멀미가 날 지경이고, 특히 4D로 보니까 중간중간 고개를 저어야 할 때도 있었습니다. 그리고 어찌보면 치명적인 문제인데 예고편이 다입니다. 진짜 예고편 말고 볼 게 없다는 소리가 아니고, 강약강약 쉬어가는 거 없이 쉴새없이 액션만 나오다보니 예고편의 액션을 1시간 동안 하는 느낌? 보는 사람이 지치기도 하고, 예고편을 봤을 때 딱히 끌리는 게 없는 사람이면 본편 봐도 재미없을 뭐 그런 거죠. 아, 영화가 1인칭인 만큼 가장 많이 보게 되는 얼굴은 주인공 헨리가 아니라 그의 동료 지미인데, 디스트릭트 9의 그 샬토 코플리입니다. 엘리시움 이상의 돌아이 연기를 보여줘서 감탄했습니다. 이 아저씨 디스트릭트 9 이후 나오는 영화마다 평가도 흥행도 시원찮은데(아 말레피센트는 흥행 대박이군요) 새로운 인생작 하나 나왔으면 하는 작은 소망이 있습니다. 뱀발. 영화 끝나자마자 옆에 앉아있던 커플이 투닥거리는 것 때문에 웃음 참느라 힘들었습니다. 여자친구의 투정을 받아내는 남자가 안쓰럽긴 했는데 이런 영화인 줄 알고도 데려왔으면 본인이 감수해야죠. 한편 제 뒤에 앉아있던 여성은 영화 시작하기 전에 '아 페이데이 하고 싶다'라던데 이 커플은 안 싸웠을 거 같군요. 알고 보니 페이데이2가 이 영화랑 콜라보를 했다고... 뱀발2. 크레딧이 올라갈 때 엔딩곡이 2개 나오는데, 그 중간 바뀌는 타이밍에 짧게 무슨 대사가 나옵니다. 근데 이건 자막도 없고, 워낙 짧게 읊조리고 지나가서 정확히 뭐라는 건지 모르겠네요.
