 주소-일본 전역 어디에든 있습니다.(오가사와라 군도 같은 곳까지 있는지는 모르겠네요...) 제목을 보시고 왠 스키야??왠 장어??라고 하실 수 있으실 겁니다. 그렇습니다. 스키야는 일본 3대 규동체인 요시노야,마츠야,스키야 중 하나인 체인브랜드입니다. 우리나라로 김밥천국이라고 할 수 있겠습니다.(저는 김밥천국 보다는 조금 더 써서 홍콩반점 정도로 보고 있습니다.) 저는 규동을 참 좋아합니다. 일본여행을 갈때마다 5성급 호텔이 아니라면 숙소 조식을 패스하고 항상 규동을 먹습니다. (마츠야(松屋)를 제일 좋아하는데, 그 이유는 네기규동-파소고기덮밥 때문입니다. 3대 규동브랜드 중 가장 좋아하는 메뉴입니다.) 이번에 떠난 일본여행에서도 어김없이 숙소 근처 규동집-스키야를 들어갔는데, 여름한정인지 모르겠지만 우나규동(민물장어소고기덮밥)을 팔더군요.(글쓰기 전에 검색해보니 매년 출시하는 메뉴가 맞는것 같습니다.) 원래 전문점이라면 전문요리만 먹어야 내상이 적습니다. 규동에 장어가 뭔말인가?? 하지만 그날은 뭔가 규동만 먹기엔 허전하더군요. 그래 뭘 먹던지 기본은 하는 일본식당이니깐 속는셈치고 한번 먹어보자싶어 주문했습니다. 정확하진 않지만 재첩가득한 미소시루, 쯔께모노(야채절임),우나규까지 800엔정도 했던 것으로 기억납니다. 처음 받아든 비쥬얼은 "어라? 생각보다 괜찮네?" 였고, 부드러운 장어살을 젓가락으로 뜯어 밥과 함께 입에 넣은 순간은 "와 맛있네?" 였습니다. 동행했던 일행들도 한입씩 먹어보더니 이 가격에 이 정도 민물장어 퀄리티는 훌륭하다는 반응입니다. 타래(양념소스)도 맛있었고, 일단 무엇보다 일본식당은 밥이 맛있기 때문에 생각보다 훨씬 괜찮게 느껴졌습니다. 그리고 재첩이 가득했던 미소시루도 느끼한 장어,소고기와 잘 어울렸습니다. 기억은 안나지만,,, 장어잡는데 10년 꼬치에 꿰는데 10년 굽는데 10년이랬나요??? 30년 내공의 장인이 이치닌마에 정신을 발휘하면서 참숯에 굽는 3천엔짜리 장어와는 비교할 수 없는 맛이지만, 800엔 정도에 괜찮은 민물장어와 소고기덮밥을 먹을 수 있는 식당은 전세계 어디에서도 흔치않을 것입니다. 일본여행 가시는 분 속는셈 치고 한번 드셔보세요.
