대학로에는 극장이 많기 때문에, 연극이나 뮤지컬 공연을 보러 오는 지인들이 한번씩 꼭 물어보곤 합니다. "대학로 맛집 좀 추천해줘." 라고 말이죠. 그런데 혜화동 15년 거주자인 제 대답은 늘 같습니다. "대학로에 맛집 같은거 없어." 사실 맛집이 전~혀 없는건 아닙니다. 있긴 있는데, 무언가 한두가지씩 단점을 안고 있어서 자신있게 추천해 주기 어려운 점이 있어요. 그럼에도 불구하고 대학로에서 무얼 먹으러 가야하는지 제가 조심스레 소개 해 드려보려고 합니다. 1. 정돈 - 돈가스 집입니다. 맛있습니다. 안심, 등심 다 괜찮고 둘다 맛볼수 있는 메뉴도 있습니다. 대학로에서 맛집을 꼽으라면 첫 손가락이라 생각합니다. 주 메뉴들의 가격은 1만 2,3천원 ~ 2만원 사이 정도에 형성되어 있습니다. 돈가스 소스가 나오긴 하지만 이 집의 히트는 "소금" 입니다. (레몬소금과 하얀 일반 소금이 넓적한 그릇에 흩뿌려져 나옵니다.) 돈가스를 그 소금에 찍어 먹으면 새로운 세계를 알게 된 느낌이 듭니다! 식당의 분위기도 나쁘지 않고, 종업원들의 응대도 무난합니다. - 그.러.나. 너무 유명세를 많이 탄 집입니다. 수요미식회에서 극찬을 받은 것은 물론, 중앙일보에도 소개되고 각종 블로그와 커뮤니티에 이미 널리 알려졌습니다. 그래서 웨이팅이 항상 있다고 보시면 되는데, 결정적으로 오후 시간에 영업준비 시간이 있어서 손님을 받지 않습니다.(오후 2시 30분~ 오후 5시로 기억합니다) 주말 점심 혹은 저녁에 기본 웨이팅 1시간 정도는 각오하셔야 하는데, 이 집은 지하이고 기묘 곳에 위치해 있어서 웨이팅 자체도 좀 불편합니다. (평일에 시간을 절묘하게 잘 맞춰 가면 20분 정도의 웨이팅을 노려볼 수는 있습니다.) - 꼭 한번쯤은 먹어 보길 추천합니다. 그만큼 맛있습니다. 하지만 시간을 고려해서 가셔야 합니다. (한여름의 뙤양볕에서 높은 하이힐 신은 썸녀와도 가시면 안됩니다...ㅎㅎ) 대학로 정돈 위치 : https://goo.gl/maps/D6uhqJktLPS2 2. 바오쯔 - 만두집입니다. 제가 알기로는 본점은 신당동으로 알고 있는데, 가보지는 않았습니다.(지점이 많은 프렌차이즈는 아닌것 같습니다.) 주 메뉴는 만두(바오쯔, 교자, 딤섬)이고 맛이 괜찮습니다. 그리고 서브메뉴로 몇가지 일식메뉴(?)가 있는데 가츠동 등이 있습니다.(먹어보진 않았습니다;;) 제가 이 집을 추천하는 강력한 메뉴는 "만두국"입니다. 여기 만두국은 청경채, 배추(!!), 소고기, 쌀국수 등이 들어있어서 마치 만두가 들어있는 "쌀국수" 같기도 합니다. 그런데 배추때문인지 아주 시~원한 맛이 일품입니다. 저는 술을 먹지 않는데, 술 좋아하는 친구의 표현을 빌리자면 '소주 10병 마실수 있는 만두국'이라고 했습니다.ㅎㅎ 전체적으로 가격은 그리 쎄지 않습니다. 아주 피크 시간만 아니라면 특별히 웨이팅도 필요 없습니다. - 그.러.나. 만두집인데 여타 만두 맛집들과 비교했을때 딱히 우와 하는 건 없습니다.(저의 추천 메뉴는 만두국이긴 하지만;;) 대학로 메인 쪽과는 약간 떨어져 있습니다.(혜화 로터리 쪽) 가게가 2층으로 이루어져 있고 테이블도 꽤 많은데, 종업원 수는 상대적으로 적은(?) 것 같아서, 응대가 좀 늦습니다. - 솔직히 말해서 "여기 맛집임!!" 은 아닙니다.(만두국은 추천합니다!) 그런데 이곳을 소개해 드린 이유가 있습니다. 이 가게 바로 맞은편에 "해마" 라는 티룸이 있는데, 다양한 홍차가 있습니다.(주인 분이 홍차에 조예가 깊으신것 같았습니다.) 그리고 골목 언덕을 넘으면 유명한 걸로 유명한 "나폴레옹 빵집"도 있고, 북대문!! 도 있습니다. 로터리쪽 혜화 성당을 넘어 성곽길로 올라가면 낙산공원으로 이어지기도 합니다. 즉, 이 곳을 기점으로 대학로 메인 쪽과는 다른 루트를 가 볼 수도 있습니다. 바오쯔 위치 http://naver.me/Fh2pc0n6 다음 번에는 좀 더 개인적인 선호로 한 번 소개 해 드리겠습니다. 꾸벅.
