안녕하세요. 라고 처음 인사를 드립니다. 즐겨찾기가 되어있는 커뮤니티에선 곧잘 눈팅만 하는데, 오늘은 금요일이고! 월급루팡도 하는중(!)인지라(사무실의 다른분들은 휴가를..) 용기를 내어 한번 요새 한집에 있는 조카와 육아의 모습을 보면서 느낀점을 써보려고 합니다. - 첫 만남- 조카를 먼저 소개해야 할거 같아요. 저는 위로 누나가 둘이 있는데, 누나가 제작년에 결혼을 했습니다. 그리고 작년에 조카가 태어났는데, 조카를 가졌을때도 누나가 노산이어서 누나가 엄청 조심하며 임신기간을 보냈었습니다. 그렇게 작년 겨울 조카가 태어났습니다. 누나가 조리원에서 2주정도 있다가 조카가 몸에 이상이 있을수도 있다는 병원 소견에 따라서 2주정도 더 병원에 입원해있다가 친정인 저희집으로 왔습니다. 누나와 매형이 사는 집이 전세 계약이 끝나가서 이사를 해야 하고 해서 조카와 당분간 친정에서 지내기로 했지요. 누나가 조카를 안고 집에 들어오는데 정말 신생아를 처음 본거였어서 그런지 몰라도 처음 조카를 보며 든 생각은 '와...정말 작다.' 였습니다. 그..록키 발보아라는 영화에서 록키가 자기 아들과 대화하는 장면에서 하는 대사중에 '넌 태어났을때 이손에 올려질만큼 작았단다'(?) 라는 비슷한 뉘앙스의 대사를 하는데 그 장면이 머리속에 떠오를 정도로 '정말 아이는 작구나' 라고 생각 했습니다. 그렇게 조카를 곁에서 지켜 볼 수 있는 외삼촌이 되었습니다. - 조카의 100일까지- 그렇게 처음 조카를 봤을때 저는 이쁘다라는 생각도 했지만 한편으로는 두려운 생각도 있었습니다. 정말 너무 작아서 아이가 70~80일이 될때까지는 아이가 깨어있으면 가까이 가서 쳐다볼 엄두가 잘 안났습니다. 대신에 잘때는 누나나 어머니가 옆에 있을때 살짝 가서 새근새근 자는 모습을 구경하곤 했지요. 아기들을 보며 천사같다고 하는데 그런 표현이 정말 정확하구나 싶었습니다. 그러다가 80일이 지나고 100일이 될 즈음에는 저도 조카를 안아보고 그랬던거 같아요. 처음 안았을땐 너무 가벼워서 놀랐습니다. - 100일 이후부터 지금까지 - 100일 이후부터는 밥먹을때 교대로 제가 조카를 안고 있기도 하고 기저귀 갈때도 제가 가끔 대신 하기도 하고 그러고 있습니다. 조카는 쑥쑥 커서 7개월이 지난 지금은 옹알이도 하고 웃기도 잘 웃어주며 이유식도 시작하고 있습니다. 어제는 이제 팔꿈치 이용해서 바닥을 기기 시작하던데 그모습이 정말 너무 귀여웠습니다. - 육아를 가까이에서 보면서 느낀 것 - 친구들 중에서도 결혼해서 대부분 아이가 있습니다만, 육아를 이렇게 가까이에서 본 건 처음이었습니다. 육아를 가까이에서 보면서 느낀 것은 '정말 부모님들은 위대하다'라는 생각이 제일 많이 들었어요. 민감한 아기를 재우고 먹이고 같이 놀며 하루종일 같이 있는 모습이 정말 위대함을 느끼게 했습니다. 더불어 혼자서는 절대로 할수 없는게 육아구나 라는 생각도 같이 들었습니다. 매형이 자영업을 하셔서 주말에만 오시는데, 그때 느낀건 혹여 누나가 혼자서 육아를 했었으면 얼마나 힘들었을까 라는 생각이었습니다. 출산 가정에 대한 지원도 많았으면 좋겠다 라는 막연한 생각도 해보기도 했네요. 그리고 조카는 너무 귀엽습니다. 제가 아는 주변의 모든사람을 통틀어서 이쁘고 귀엽고 사랑스럽다 라는 표현이 가장 잘 어울리는 존재 같아요. 근데 요샌 외삼촌인 저를 계속 봐서 그런지 얘가 나를 아빠로 생각하는건 아닌가 라는 걱정도 될때가 있는데, 더 커서 매형이랑 지내면 저건 괜한 걱정이었을거라는 생각을 하고 있습니다. 조카를 보면서 저 개인적인 생각도 바뀌고 있습니다. 원래는 내가 무슨 결혼이냐 라는 생각을 좀 강하게 가진 편이었는데, 지금은 내가 좋아하는 사람하고 결혼해서 아이와 같이 있는 일상도 꽤많이 행복할거 같다...라는 정도?로 바뀐거 같아요. 물론 그럴만한 인연이 지금은 없지만...(흑...) 결혼과 아이에 대해서 많이 바뀌고 있습니다. 인연이 될 수 있는 분을 위해 저도 노력하고 스스로를 더 가꿔야겠죠? 일단 살부터 빼야... 마지막으로....이 세상의 모든 부모님들 존경합니다! 존경받아 마땅하십니다!
