본 글은 철저하게 제 주관적인 경험과 판단으로 쓰여진 글입니다. 나름 전국에서 희귀한 학과면 학과기도 하고 언젠간 썰을 한번 풀어봐야지~맘만 먹고있다가 오늘 오전에 너무 정신이 혼란스러운 일이 있어 현실도피차 주절주절 써봅니다. 아마도 글이 중구난방일터이니 이해를 부탁드립니다. 고3때였습니다. 중2~고2 무려 4년간을 공부를 손에서 놨던 저는 무슨 전공을 할까 보다는 대학을 어디로 갈까가 더 큰 관심사였습니다. 다행히 제가 수능 특화형 인간이라 고3동안 내신은 조금밖에 안 올라도 수능 하나만큼은 엄청난 성적 향상을 하고있던터라 여름방학 쯤에선가.. 무슨 전공을 해야되나 고민이 들기 시작했죠. 이 떄, 성적이 저랑 비슷했던 제 친구가 자기는 심리학과를 가겠다고 하는 겁니다. 저의 반응은 야 너랑 나랑 비슷한데 니가 어떻게 의대를 가 그렇습니다. 일반적으로 심리학에 대한 오해가 많죠. 저도 그중 하나였습니다. 당시 저의 사고방식 심리학=정신병치료=정신과의사=의대 였던 것이죠. 그 친구는 뭔 이런 황당한 소릴 하냔 표정으로 저한테 알려주기 시작했습니다. 정신과 의사가 되는게 아니다. 심리학에는 다양한 분야가 있다. 그리고 가장 결정적인 소릴 했습니다. '니 성적으로도 갈수 있어' 심리학에 대한 막연한 환상(범죄심리학 오오 김전일 오오 이정도)을 갖고있던 저는 그날로 아무생각없이 제 진로를 정했습니다. 심리학과가기로..(이런 미친) 저희때는 수시는 도입초창기라 정말 내신 쩌는 애들만 쓰는거였고 정시도 가, 나, 다군 각 한개씩 및 산업대는 군 상관없이 쓸수있는 시스템이었습니다. 제 수능점수보다 한단계 아래였던 지역에 있던 산업대를 나름 안전빵으로 쓰고, 소신지원(거주지 근처 심리학과있는 대학) 1군데, 안정지원(타지방에 취업률 100%로 이름난 공립은 아닌데 국공립취급받는 심리학과 없는대학) 1군데 3군데를 썼고...우여곡절끝에 심리학과있는 대학에 붙었습니다. 옛날 얘기긴 한데, 제가 다닌 대학은 99~08 이 10년간이 학부제였습니다. 1학년때는 학부로 들어간후 1학년말에 가고싶은 학과를 지망한후, 성적순(....)으로 짤라서 학과를 배정받는 시스템이었구요. 참 인생 운을 이때 다 쓴것 같이도 보이는게, 저는 추가합격이었습니다. 따라서 새터(새내기 새로배움터, 타학교에서는 OT, OR등으로 일컬음)안내를 전혀받지 못한 상태였는데, 제가 합격한 곳 다른 단대를 정상적으로 합격한 친구가 그런게 있다고 저한테 말해줘서, 저는 합격를 하고 난후 대체 무슨 정신인지 해당 단과대 학생회실로 전화를 걸게 됩니다. 저기요 저 추가합격인데여 며칠부터 오티란게 있다고 들었어여 가도 되여? 당연히 무조건 오라고 하겠죠....그날 주섬주섬 짐을 챙겨서 학교에 가니, 미처 설문조사 비스무리를 안한 저같은 사람들 대상으로 학생회에서 희망학과조사를 했습니다. 여전히 저는 심리학이 아무것도 모른채 당당히 심리학과 지망을 써서 냈고, 분반 배정도 심리학과로 받았습니다. 이 2박 3일이 제 인생을 바꿨네요. 뭐 학문적인걸 그런거 가서 경험하고 들을일은 없고 정말 인간들이 미친듯이 놀더군요. 이게 어느정도냐면 새터를 가서도 타 과 학생들이 우리과 노는걸 보고 부러워했습니다 매년. 이게 이렇게 노는 이유를 몇년 지나고 나서 스스로 깨닫게 됩니다. 심리학과를 지망한다=대개 뭔가 평탄한 사람들은 여길 선택안한다=미친 연놈(...)들이 온다=그래서 미친듯이 논다 네, 맨 윗줄에 제 주관적인 판단과 경험으로 쓰여진 글이라는걸 저 문구를 보험들기 위해서 쓴 글이었습니다. 말그대로 사람에 반한 나머지 저는 나머지 1년을 쭉..심리학과 분반으로서 생활을 하게 됩니다. 1학년때는 교양을 많이 들었습니다. 전필이라는거 자체가 학부제다보니 1학년때는 없고 전공 선택 몇과목에 나머지 다 교양이었고, 심리학과 지망이니 당. 연. 히. 심리학개론 교양을 신청했습니다. 그런데 이게 다행인지 안 다행인지....교양이라 그런가 심리학개론 책중에서 강사분이 몇몇부분을 제외하고 수업을 나갔습니다. 생물이랑 통계요 심리학 전공하시는 분들이라면 저 두개를 뺴놓고 갔다는게 무슨 의미인지 대충 아실겁니다. 나머지뭐 심리학의 역사라거나, 사회/성격/발달 등 심리학 각 세부영역에 대한 간단한 소개 등..생각보다 재밌었습니다. 물론 그 와중에 제가 갖고있던 심리학에 대한 편견은 조금씩 깨져갔습니다. 독심술 이런 막연한게 아닌...아 이런걸 하는구나...........그래도 개론수준에서는 심리학의 알파와 오메가인 통계에 대해서 자세히는 안나오고, 더군다나 그 챕터 강의를 안나간고로 아직도 진면목을 모르고 있었습니다. 여전히 학교생활은 저랑 비슷한 제정신이 아닌 사람들덕분에 아주 미친듯이 하고있었구요. 2학기때 전선과목을 골라야하는데, 2과목을 다 들을 생각은 없었고 2과목중에 하나가 사회과학영서강독인가 이거였고 나머지 하나가 기초사회통계였습니다. 영어냐 통계냐 수학이 싫어서 문과온 저는 당연히 영서강독을 선택하는게 정상적인 테크트리였는데, 대체 왜 무슨 이유인지 모를 이유로 기초사회통계를 선택했습니다. 이 선택은 이후 제 전공수강에 정말정말 엄청난 도움이 되었습니다. 제가 공부를 좀 스파르타로 하는 성격이기도 하고..이걸 하면서 수학은 싫어도 통계는 좋아하는 저를 발견하게 되었습니다. 그리고 여전히 크게는 진지한 고민이 없던채로..2학년 전공신청때 심리학과를 써냈고. 나름 굳좋은 대학성적을 받고 있던 저는 아무런 저항없이 심리학과가 되었습니다... 지금생각해봐도 정말 대책없네요. 별 생각없이 택한 전공과목이 나름 재밌어서 쭉 해나간 케이스가 되어버렸습니다. 그리고 정말 본격적으로 수업을 듣게 되는데... 심리학이란 무엇인가? 를 듣는다면 제가 배운 심리학의 정의중 가장 간단한 정의로 말합니다. 인간의 마음과 행동을 과학적으로 연구하는 학문 여기서 핵심은 '과학적으로' 입니다. 이 <과학적으로>를 담보하는 2가지가 1. 연구방법론 2. 통계입니다. '연구방법론'을 통해서 과학적으로 입증이 가능한 연구설계를 하고, 그걸 증명하기 위한 도구로써 '통계'를 활용합니다. 그리고 심리학의 세부분야중 생물심리학(옛날엔 생리심리학이라고도...), 인지심리학 등에선 정말 연구를 위해 fmri같은것을 활용하기도 합니다. 저같은 경우 2학년떄 생리심리 전공 교수가 연구년이어서 2학년 1학기때 생리심리전공이 개설이 안됐고, 이떄 이걸 안들은 이후로 그냥 쭉 뇌, 감각, 인지 이런 심리학이라는 연을 아예 끊게 됩니다.(한번 안듣게 되니 그냥 계속 안듣게 되던) 제가 들었던 전공과목들을 간략하게 몇개 소개드려보자면.. -기초심리파트- 발달심리학, 아동심리학, 청년심리학, 가족심리학 4개를 한꺼번에 묶은 이유는 뒤의 나머지 과목은 크게 발달로 묶이기 때문입니다. 말그대로 인간의 전생애적 발달 과정이 주 타겟이구요. 입학전엔 뭔지도 몰랐는데, 제가 들은 세부전공분야에서는 손에 꼽을 정도로 흥미가 갔었습니다. 사회심리학 굉장히 재밌는 학문이기도 한데...제가 학교다닐떄 이걸 가르치던 전공교수가 별로였어서...., 이 과목이 재밌다는걸 중간고사 공부를 하면서야 깨달았습니다. 사회현상이라던지, 사회적 상황 아래의 개인의 심리, 이런걸 주로 합니다. 사실 학부때는 대충 넘겼는데, 대학원을 졸업하는 학과내규 중에 응용심리전공이면 기초 한과목, 기초면 응용한과목을 들어야 하는 조항이 있어서 대학원 졸업을 위해 기초심리학으로 고급사회심리학을 들으면서 역시 이 학문은 재밌는 학문이라는 걸 느꼈습니다. 대학원 때 이 과목 과제로 실험설계를 직접해서 연구를 해보는 것이었는데, 당시 제가 수행했었던 실험이 쉽게 말하면 '국뽕이 생산성향상이 도움을 주나?' 가 아이디어의 촉발점이었고, 좀 풀어쓰자면.. 스포츠경기에서 국가대표가 좋은 모습을 보여주면 개인이 그 좋은 기분을 발판으로 더 나은 수행을 보이나 였습니다. 교수님도(아, 그 노잼교수는 정년퇴직했고 새로 온 교수님) 흥미있어 하던 주제였는데, 실제로 실험도 해보고(피험자들은 이게 이런걸 측정하는 실험이라는걸 모르고 단순 틀린 낱말 찾기 이런걸로 알았습니다. 의도를 알게되면 다른 결과가 나올수 있어서) 했는데, 결과가 안나와서(즉....가설검증에서 유의미하지 못해서) 그냥 과제로만 제출하고 학회지에 내는건 접었습니다. 생리심리학 넵 첫학기에 개설안되서 안들은 이후로 그냥 쭉 안들었습니다. 제 성미상 맞았을것 같긴 한데, 암튼 이거 공부하다보면 정말 고등학교때 심리학을 막연히 알때는 생각지도 못했던 각종것들을 달달달 외우게 됩니다. 예를 들면 신경계 이름들이라던지.... 대학원 입시 준비하면서 보니 어우야... 기초인지심리학 생리심리의 확장선상에서 또 같이 안듣게 됐.... 학습심리학 학습과정같은걸 주로 배우는데..여러분이 아는 파블로프의 고전적 조건형성도 여기에 해당하구요. 2학년 첫학기때 들은건데, 뭐 그냥 그랬습니다. -응용심리파트- 임상심리학, 이상심리학, 성격심리학, 심리측정 및 검사 상담심리와 함께 대중적으로 가장 넓게 알려진 분야입니다. 크게 임상심리이구요. 뒤의 두개도 임상심리에 해당하기때문에 묶었습니다. 인간의 이상행동이라던지 이런쪽을 주 타겟으로 합니다. 병원에 있는 임상심리사 등이 이걸 한 사람들입니다. 수강하면서 재미는 있었는데, 뭔가 그냥 중간에 그런 느낌이 들었습니다. 내 길은 아니네... 이길로 나중에 가면 대학원까지 가고나서 일선 병원들에서 매우 혹독한(정말 혹독한) 수련기간을 거치게 됩니다. 주변인들 하는거보니 뭐...잠은 잠대로 못자고 학습은 학습대로 계속하고 정말 힘들게 살더라구요....그래도 이길로 가면 어떻게든 먹고는 사는것 같습니다. 심리검사실습도 뭐 여기서 가장 자주 쓰이니 여기로 묶었습니다. 여러분들이 아실 MBTI를 비롯해서 MMPI(군입대 신검시 하는거, 미네소타 다면적 인성검사 라고 합니다), HTP(집 나무 사람 그리는거), 로샤검사(그림보여주고 해석하는거), 웩슬러지능검사(흔히 말하는 IQ테스트의 알파이자 오메가입니다) 등 많은 심리검사들에 대해서 직접 보고, 타인을 상대로 해보고 그 결과를 보고하고 굉장히 재밌게는 했습니다. 응용인지, 감각및지각심리학 감각및지각심리학을 하나 들었는데 기초에 넣을까 응용에 넣을까 하다가 가르친 분이 응용인지 전공이라(...) 응용에 넣었습니다. 환타스틱했습니다 안좋은 쪽으로, 생리쪽이랑 인지쪽 지식 없이 들으니 환장하겠더군요. 착시 뭐 이런거 나옵니다. 이것도 들으면서 아 난 공부를 하는게 아니라 텍스트를 외우고 있구나 안맞네 이 생각듣고 때려쳤습니다. 범죄및교정심리학 오오오 드디어 나왔습니다. 특히 최근엔 그것이 알고싶다의 엄청난 홍보효과덕분에 더더욱 환상이 씌인 바로 그 것. 3학년때 개설이 됐길래 캡짱 재밌을줄 알고 수강했습니다. 결과는 핵노잼 배웠던건 범죄자들에 관한 주요 기초심리 이론 및 3대 중범죄(살인 강간 방화였나)의 특성 및 범죄자의 행동 패턴, 양식, 그리고 프로파일링 일부였습니다. 배운것만 봐선 재밌어보이지만, 여기서 말씀드리고 싶은게...위에서 보다보면 느끼시겠지만, 심리학과의 대학 4년 전공은 말그대로 정말 맛을 보는 겁니다. 심리학의 많은 세부분야들에 대해서 하나하나 맛보고(학부) 내가 뭘 먹어치울건지(대학원)을 정하는 과정이죠. 그래서 아무리 맛있어보여도 내가 맛봐서 맛없으면 아닌겁니다. 전 맛이 없었습니다. 저희 대학교에는 대학원 전공이 이쪽은 없었는데, 제 후배중에선 경기대 대학원을 가서 이쪽 전공을 해서 전공을 살린 후배도 있습니다(그 후배 결혼식 주례를 그알 이수정 교수가 보셨.....) 상담심리학 네, 나왔습니다. 사실 저도 입학전에는 이 분야에 대한 흥미가 있었습니다. 수업들은 이력을 보니 3학년때 들었네요... 네 맛이 없었습니다. 우리학교에 상담관련 대학원도 없었을뿐더러 맛도 없더군요. 사실 대외적으로 가장 큰 오해를 받는 분야입니다. 좀 강하게 말하면 체계적인 학습없이 어디서 진짜 꼴랑 몇시간 이상한거 배운다음에 상담한다고 하는 사람들이 생각보다 적지 않습니다 시중에... 그런분들이 나중에 그거 보완한다고 학부 편입하고 막... 암튼...수업을 들으면서 느낀건데, 아마 많은 분들이 다른 사람의 얘기를 들어주거나, 아픔을 감싸고 이런거 괜찮게 생각하는 분들 많을겁니다. 저 역시 그랬는데, 이걸 제 업으로 삼기에는..벅차더군요. 정말 수많은 케이스와 사람을 접할텐데, 내 주변 지인이 아닌 내 업으로 이걸? 그래서 접었습니다... -기 타- 심리통계및연구방법 문제의 통계입니다. 전필입니다. 당연합니다. 심리학도, 심리학자가 통계없이 주장할수가 없어요. 많은 심리학과생들이 좌절을 겪기도 합니다. 저같은 경우 1학년떄 기초사회통계를 들으며 프로그램없이 공학용계산기로 숙달이 되어있는 상태에서 2학년떄 프로그램을 활용하면서 수강하니 나름 괜찮았는데, 제 주변에선 엄청 힘들어했습니다. 특히 프로그램 다루는걸. 크게 사회과학쪽 통계프로그램들을 활용하는데(R, SPSS, SAS 등), 저희 학교에선 spss로 가르쳤고, 이거 과제 낼때마다 제 과제 몇명 보여주고 많이 그랬습니다. 사실 통계 패키지는 그냥 tool이고 여기서 핵심은 내가 원하는 연구를 할떄 맞는 연구방법을 적용시키는 걸 이해하는 겁니다. 가령 세집단이상의 특성차이를 연구하는데, anova(변량분석, 분산분석)을 하면 될걸 쓸데없이 t-test를 세번하는 짓은 막아야죠. 뭘 분석하고 싶으면, 어떻게 설계를 해서 그거에 맞는 통계툴을 적용하고, 나오는 결과를 해석할줄 알면 되는....말로 하면 쉬운데 사실 저도 뭐 전공하면서 가장 공부 많이 한게 이겁니다. 1학년때 한번, 2학년떄 이거들으면서 한번, 복학하기전에 까먹었을까봐 한번...졸업논문 쓰기전에 한번....대학원입시하면서 한번..대학원떄 통계관련수업 2개 들으면서 2번... 그만큼 중요하고 어렵습니다. 사실 학부에서도 이제 spss가 아니라 sas를 가르쳤으면 하는데...(제 지도교수님께 가끔 말씀드립니다. 학부 통계를 제 지도교수님꼐서 가르치고 계셔서...) 확실히 sas가 어렵기도 하고.. 여러분, 심리학과 오시면 통계해야됩니다. 심리측정 및 연구방법 통계랑 관련이 있는데..좀 더 연구방법론에 가까웠습니다. 지금까지 서술한 것중에선 제가 대학원 전공한 과목은 없습니다... 왜냐면 제가 전공한 과목 교수님이 제가 휴학했을떄 오셨고, 전 휴학하기 전에 전공이수학점을 다 채웠을뿐이고, 학부에서 그걸 공부하진 않았거든요. 새로 뭘 파기엔 늦었다고 생각했고.....그 새로온 교수님도 제 졸업쯤에 연구년을 나갈 예정이라 별 생각이 없었는데, 어찌저찌해서 연구년을 안나가시게됐고, 제가 생각하기에 가장 사회와 맞닿아있는 심리학분야라고 생각해서 뒤늦게 시작해서 대학원까지 갔습니다. 응용심리에 해당하는 산업 및 조직심리학입니다. 국내에서 아무래도 가장 활동이 활발한 대학은 광운대구요(유태용, 탁진국 교수등 유명합니다 이분애에서). 저희는 아니지만, 교수님을 찾아서 사전에 컨택을 드리고 공부를 하면서 재미있는 학문이라는 생각만 들었습니다. 산업 및 조직심리학이 뭐냐, 쉽게말하면 인사조직관리입니다. 산업적상황, 특히 조직과 관계된 온갖심리학에 대해서 주로 팝니다. 분배에 있어서 작용하는 심리, 선발에 있어서 작용하는 점들, 조직에 들어오고 나서의 각종 상황, 나가서의 각종 상황, 저같은 경우 가장 흥미를 가졌던 이론은 심리적 계약이라는건데, 이게 계약서에 쓰여있는 것과는 별개로 개인이 조직에 속하게 되면 자기가 기대하는 수준이 생기고(이게 심리적 계약.....) 이게 충족이 안되면 온갖 부작용이 생긴다는 것입니다(이직의도 증가 등등등), 이쪽 논문주제는 교수님꼐 수없이 빠꾸를 당하고..결국 졸업논문은 직장에서의 safety 로 썼습니다. 조직 풍토와 산업현장에서의 안전에 관한 행동들 이런쪽으로 쓰긴 했네요. 다만 세상에서 모르는쪽은 이쪽 전공이 뭐하는지 잘모릅니다. 잘 알고있는 경우도 있는 반면(모 국책기관에서는 조직관리쪽 연구원 선발할떄 전공을 산업및조직심리학 전공자로 한정해서 선발합니다. 저도 여기 최종갔었습니다. 물론 거기서 탈락), 모르고 있는 경우(빅대기업 인적성검사에서 인사파트 시험치는데 관리자가 제 전공 물어보더니 여기 왜 썼냐고 놀라면서 묻길래 저도 벙쪘....)도 있고.......홍보는 확실히 덜 됐습니다. 뭐 암튼..대학원 무사히 졸업해서...전공을 잘 살렸.....었으면 좋았을텐데, 어찌어찌 해서 못살리고 지금은 그냥 교육에 관계된 일을 하고 있습니다. 행정직으로요. 그냥 주절주절 썼는데, 몇가지 더 달아보자면 1. 심리학 학부과정은 맛을 보는 과정이다. 사실 학부만 해서는 뭘 인정받기 쉽지 않다. 대학원해도 인정못받는 판국에.....많이들 흥미있어 하실것 같은 광고 및 소비자심리나, 마케팅이라든가...이런쪽은 저 다닐때는 없어서.경험을 못해봤지만.......(위에서 말한 사회심리학 뉴 교수님 오고나서 개설됨...). 그래서 학부만 졸업하고 나갈 사람들은 많이들 부전공, 복수전공을 했습니다 사람들은. 부전공도 점차 사라져가는 추세라, 취업쪽으로는 아예 다른 길을 택한 사람도 많습니다. 경영쪽 복전해서 증권이나 은행쪽으로 간 사람들도 꽤 되고, 아예 부복전공없이도 가는 사람들도 있고....그냥 일반회사라던지, 전공과 상관없는 길로 간 사람들이 참 많습니다. 학부만 졸업해서 전공살린 경우는 한명봤는데...임상쪽으로 학부만 졸업해서 어떻게 연이 닿았는지 병원에서부터 일을 해서 수련을 하다가 결국대학원에 오긴 왔습니다. 요약하면, 대학원 생각을 하고 왔더라도..학부에서는 맛을 많이 봐야한다. 공부해보면 재미없는거 생각보다 많다. 입니다. 2. 혹시 심리학을 생각한다면 거기 무슨 교수있는지는 좀 알아보고 지원해야 한다. 특히 대학원이요. 대학원입시때도 느낀게, 제가 대학원 다니면서 대학원입시때마다 보조를 좀 했는데, 대학원 지원자들 지원서만 봐도, 왜 우리학교에 없는 전공을 대학원와서 하겠다고 하는지(대학원 지원서니 당연히 대학 지원서보다는 기대치가 좀 있습니다)....자기가 공부하고 싶은 전공이 있는지, 그리고 그 교수의 중점 연구방향이 무언지 정도는 알고서 공부하는게 낫습니다. 학부때는 좀 약하긴 한데, 그냥 학부수준으로 마케팅쪽 심리를 공부하고 싶은데 저희학교처럼 커리큘럼이 짜여있으면 어떻게 할수가 없죠. 대학원은 두말할 필요도 없구요. 3. 영어, 수학은 필수 심리학 본진은 미국입니다. 누가 뭐라해도 미국입니다. 프로이트 어쩌고 해도 미국입니다.(정신분석학은 아래 따로 썰을 풀겠습니다). 학부수준에서도 외국논문을 읽어야할일이 있을수 있고, 대학원와서는 짤없습니다. 사실 자신의 영어실력이 본인의 대학원 수업 난이도를 '매우 크게' 결정합니다. 같은 텍스트를 읽어도 한시간만에 읽을 수 있는 능력과 하루를 투자해야 읽을 수 있는 능력은 자기 공부에 있어서 격차가 클 수 밖에 없습니다. 복습은 몰라도 예습안하면 수업에서 털리는 구조입니다. 예습하는데 엄청난 시간걸립니다. 특히 기업체 의뢰 프로젝트하면서 공부까지 같이 하면 책상에서 떠날 시간이.... 수학은 뭐, 통계 못하면 망합니다. 근데 노력하면 되요 이건. 통계패키지가 단순히 저런 심리학적 가설검증외에도 기술통계에도 유용하거든요. 엑셀은 함수잘못 입력하면 아작날수있는데 통계패키지 이용하면 자료 세팅만 잘해놓으면 최소한 내가 함수입력 잘못할 일은 없으니.....나중에 취직해서 가끔 요긴하게 쓰고 있습니다. 4. 주요진로? 세부전공에 따라서 다른데..위에서 언급한 임상심리전공은 임상심리사로 많이 빠지고......생리심리 전공자중에선 fmri측정하는 곳에 어떻게 되는경우도 봤고..사회심리는 일반회사도 꽤가고, 아동쪽이나 발달쪽은 상담이랑 짬뽕해서 상담센터쪽으로 가는경우도 꽤 봤고......저위쪽에 말한 통계덕택에 컨설팅 회사도 생각보다 꽤 갑니다. 리서치회사도 그렇구요. 저도 뭐 갤럽같은데 서류통과후 면접까진 가본적은 있습니다. 근데 경험해보니 내가 한 공부가 자기 진로를 보장하진 않습니다 이쪽은..결론은 공부하면서도 취업준비는 해야되여.........입학사정관쪽으로도 꽤 갔습니다.(입학사정관들이 통계에 되게 약한데 그런면에서 실무에서 심리학과 대학원출신들은 엄청난 무기를 갖고있게 됩니다). 저도 입학사정관 경험이 있습니다. 5. 정신분석학? 과소평가와 과대평가를 동시에 받고있다. 정도로 말씀드리겠습니다. 프로이트로 대변되는 정신분석학을 보고 이런게 심리학이구나 생각하고 책을 펼치면 큰코다치기 딱 좋습니다. 말초적이어서 흥미끌기엔 쉬운데, 심리학에서 강조하는 과학과는 상당히 거리가 있고, 연구분야도 좀 뭔가......어떤 교수들은 정신분석학은 심리학으로 인정조차 안하는 경우도 있습니다. 당시의 연구방법(표본추출 및 검증등)에 있어서도 비과학적인 부분도 많고..다만 공헌한점도 많긴 합니다. 단지 심리학이 아니라 학문이라는 영역 자체에서도 신선한 충격이었고, 위에서 말한 로샤 검사같은 경우도 결국 정신분석학에 기반한 누적사례의 결과로서 자리잡게 된거니까요. 이래서 과소평가입니다....다만 프로이트 저서보고 심리학이 이렇구나...하고 생각하진 마세요 정말...많은 괴리가 있습니다. 그렇게 불분명하게 얘기하지 않아여... 무의식은 그렇게 만능적인 무기가 아닙니다.. 6. 대학원생활? 나름 문과쪽 대학원엔 드물게 랩(lab)이 있습니다. 저희도 저희 단대에서 대학원에 배정된 공간 중 상당수를 저희만 써서 원성을 많이 들었습니다. 대학원 공간만 6개 공간 정도를 차지 했으니....세부전공따라서 과제따오는게 없거나 적거나 많거나 그런데, 제 전공은 조직진단, 컨설팅 이런걸 많이 해서 제 대학원 2년(+입학전 반학기까지하면 2.5년)동안 제 이름이 실린 프로젝트(기업체 의뢰 연구용역)만 5개.....이름은 안실렸지만 일 도와준 프로젝트까지 하면 7~8개는 했네요. 이거하면서 수업따라가느라 꽤 힘들었습니다. 풀타임으로 대학원생활을 했고, 이거에 대해서는 나름 자부심도 없지 않아 있습니다. 학비는 생활비정도는 프로젝트 인건비로 충당이 가능했고 등록금은 학자금 대출로 매꿨습니다. 몇몇세부전공은 프로젝트없어서 온전히 정말 자기돈으로 학비내고 생활비까지 다 내는 경우도 많이 봤습니다. 생활비에서 가장 큰 지출은 식비...하루왠종일 랩에 붙어있다보니, 점심 저녁을 다 사먹고, 스트레스는 쌓이는데 풀데는 먹을거밖에 없으니 맛있는걸 먹습니다; 2년동안 6KG 쪘어여....저같은 경우 랩 구성원들이 학부때부터 같이 학과생활한 사람들이 대다수라 거기에 +술까지... 대학원동안 엉덩이 길게 붙이는 경험이 여기저기 도움 참 많이 되었습니다. 7. 졸업? 저희학교는 학부졸업은 학점 외에 논문으로 하는거였고, 설문지 한 200부 돌려가면서 직접 논문써서 졸업했고..대학원은 졸업시험이랑 논문이었구요(둘다 해야됨). 저같은 경우 졸업논문은 쓰고나서 1차 발표, 2차 발표가 있었는데 사실상 1차 발표가 최종보스전이었습니다. 2차발표는 1차발표때 지적받은 부분에 대한 수정을 해서 그거만 발표하면 되는 분위기였어서... 좀 과장되게 말하면 엔딩 후 후일담 같은 느낌이랄까.. 1차 발표 선빵이었고 당시 대본을 들고 아이컨택을 해가면서 논문발표를 했는데 제 대본든 손은 벌벌벌 떨렸는데, 목소리는 하나도 안 떨렸다고, 손 떠는 거는 정말 이해할수 있다고 같이 발표를 기다리던 형동생누나들이 그랬었네요. 1차 발표날 끝나고 밥먹으러 가는데 하늘이 참 맑았습니다...졸업시험은 공부만 충실히 했으면 통과할 수준정도로 출제가 되었습니다. 정신이 어느정도 정돈되니 역시 마무리가 문제네요. 간만에 주절거려봤습니다. 시마이하겠습니다. 시마이!
