안녕하세요, 고라파덕입니다. 요새 탐라에도 글 잘 안 쓰고 눈팅만 하다가 갑자기 올리려니 손이 더 무거워 지네요……. 아마 이런 글이 있었는지도 까먹으셨을꺼에요. 호에에에에에에에엥 ㅠㅠ 1편을 쓰고 빨리 2편을 써야 했는데 호르몬도 끊고 저 요오드 식이를 했더니 머리가 잘 안 돌아가네요……. 그래도 준비를 잘 해서 그런지 1차 방사선 요오드 치료를 끝내고 추가 치료 없이 정기검진 및 호르몬제 복용만 하면 되는 상태까지 왔습니다. ㅎㅎ 잡설은 고만 풀고 본론으로 들어가 보겠습니다! 1. 입원 및 수술준비 4/20 수술 전 검사 결과 및 수술일자 결정을 위해 병원을 방문 했습니다. 다행히도 수술 전 검사에서 다 정상으로 나와서 수술하는 데는 문제가 없다고 하시며 경부 CT 상에서 ‘워보이’가 정 중앙에 있어서 전 절제술을 해야 한다고 하셨습니다. 그래서 전 절제술을 하기로 최종 결정을 하고 수술 상담실로 이동해서 다른 선생님과 수술 전 면담을 시행했습니다. 제가 고혈압 약 및 고지혈증 약을 먹고 있었는데 약 관련해서 처방전이 필요하다고 해서 그거 찾는다고 애를 좀 먹었네요. 그렇게 면담을 하고 주의사항을 들은 후 수술 날짜에 대해서 문의했는데 5월 첫째 주가 휴일이 많아서 그때는 힘들고 빠르면 5월 중순정도 될 것 같다고 하였습니다. 그래도 교수님이 최대한 빨리 해 달라고 하셨으니까 마취과에 문의해서 수술일자가 확정되면 연락 주겠다고 해서 잘 부탁드린다고 이야기 하고 나왔습니다. 그래서 집으로 돌아와 수술 일자가 5월 중순이 될 것 같다고 연락을 하고 있는 도중 5/4 오후로 수술일자가 확정되었으니 5/3 입원을 하라고 이비인후과 외래에서 연락이 왔습니다. 생각보다 많이 빨라진 날짜에 다행이다 싶었습니다. 조금이라도 빨리 수술을 하는 편이 불안감도 덜 할 것 같았어요. 그렇게 날짜가 정해지고 입원 준비를 하면서 어느새 5/3이 되었습니다. 입원 당일에도 보호자가 필요하다고 하여 10시쯤 아버지, 동생과 함께 대학병원으로 향했고 휴일이라 응급실 쪽 원무과에서 입원 수속을 했습니다. 사람이 밀려 있어서 기다리고 있는데 계속 응급실로 밀려오는 환자와 보호자, 의료진들의 표정을 보며 역시 응급실은…….싶었어요. 그렇게 입원 수속을 하고 다인실이 없는 관계로 2인실로 배정을 받았습니다. 2인실, 괜찮지 했는데 병실료가 7배 정도 차이가 나기에 이틀 정도만 있어야 겠다 하고 싶었네요. 병동으로 이동해서 배치 받은 병실을 가서 짐 정리를 하고 간호사랑 면담을 한 후 수술 전 성대 검사와 수술동의서 작성을 위해서 계속 무료하게 기다리고 있었습니다. 점심시간 쯤 아버지와 동생은 식사를 하러갔고 저는 중식을 신청해 놔서 기다리다가 검사실로 가라는 이야기를 듣고 외래로 갔습니다. 가서 성대검사를 하고 아버지, 동생과 함께 수술동의서 설명을 듣는데 제가 간호사라는 걸 알아서 그런지 의학용어를 이용해서 설명 하는 게 있어서 보호자도 있는데 조금 더 쉬운 용어로 설명해주면 좋을 텐데. 라고 생각하며 제가 풀어서 설명을 했습니다. 그렇게 동의서를 작성하고 아버지는 일이 있으신 관계로 회사로 가시고 동생도 있을 필요가 없을 것 같아서 집으로 갔습니다. 그렇게 모두를 보내고 혼자서 마취동의서도 작성하고 병실에 있는데 1인실 같은 2인실에 있는데 심심합니다. 너무 심심합니다. TV를 봐도 심심하고 그러자고 있기도 뭐해서 로비 쪽을 돌아봅니다. 편의점도 있고 부산이라 BNC도 들어와 있고 카페도 있어서 이곳저곳 둘러보다 수술 후에는 수술부위도 당기고 전신마취를 해서 목이 아플 거라며 아이스크림만 드셨다던 전 병원 마취과 선생님의 경험담이 생각나서 아이스크림을 사러 편의점으로 갔습니다. 그런데 여기는 투게x같은 저렴이가 없고 나xx 나 하xxx 밖에 없네요.…….무심결에 파인트 3통을 가져갔다가 3만원 가까이 나오는걸 보고 다시 두고 요플레를 사 왔습니다. 병원 편의점 너무 비싸요ㅠㅠ 병실로 돌아오니 저녁이 와 있어서 이게 나의 마지막 식사인가…….하며 잠시 센티 했었는데 병원 밥이라 맛이가 없습니다. 그래도 내일의 ‘나’가 이걸 안 먹으면 후회할 것이라는 생각이 들어 다 먹었습니다. 그렇게 저녁을 먹고 잠시 병동 복도를 걷다 오니 간호사 선생님이 저를 찾았다며 수술 전날 준비를 시작했습니다. 내일 수액을 맞아야 하기도 하고 깨끗하게 피부준비를 하고 수술을 받고 싶어서 공들여서 샤워를 하고 인턴 선생님이 와서 수술부위 표지도 하고 가시고 침대에 금식 표지판도 달려있는데 아……. 진짜 수술을 하러 왔구나. 싶더라고요. 그렇게 바깥을 보며 감성에 젖은 소녀가 되려고 하는데 어머니와 아버지가 오셔서 현실의 저로 돌아왔습니다. 감성은 무슨 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 그렇게 부모님을 보고 물 한잔 크게 마시고 꿀잠을 잤습니다. 2. 수술 당일 수술날 아침, 세안 및 양치를 하고 수술복으로 갈아입은 후 항생제 반응 검사 및 수액을 맞는데 간호사 선생님이 손등부터 찾기 시작합니다. 손등에 맞으면 입원기간 내내 아프고 붓는 것을 알기에 손등 말고 다른 곳으로 놓아달라고 단호하게 이야기를 해서 손목에 맞았습니다. 제 팔에 혈관이 잘 안 나오는 건 알지만 바로 손등부터 보시면 저도 간호사지만 가슴에 스크래치가 납니다.……. 그렇게 준비를 마치고 수술 시간까지 또 한없이 기다립니다. 수술 시간은 오후라서 어머니와 동생한테는 오후 1시쯤에 오시라 미리 언질을 해놔서 혼자서 그렇게 기다리면서 묵주기도를 올리고 마취하고 깨면서 얌전히 깨도록 계속 자기 암시를 걸고 있으니 11시쯤 켜놓은 수술현황 TV 채널에 제 담당 교수님의 첫 번째 수술이 시작됐다고 바꿔서 오후 2시 넘어서야 끝나겠구나. 싶어서 널널하게 있었습니다. 1시가 넘어 동생과 어머니가 조금 늦을 것 같다고 하시어 뭐 2시 넘어서 수술이 끝날 것 같은데 괜찮겠지 하고 천천히 오시라고 했습니다. 오후 2시, 첫 번째 수술이 완료로 바뀌고 저는 뭐 수술방 정리하고 하면 3시쯤에 들어가겠지 하고 있는데 간호사 선생님이 와서 이제 내려가실 거라며 항생제를 수액에 연결하고 화장실을 다녀오라고 합니다. 그래서 얼른 어머니께 이제 곧 들어갈 거라고 재촉을 하며 화장실을 나오니 휠체어와 여사님이 저를 기다리고 있습니다. 그리고는 저를 싣고 간호사실 앞으로 갑니다. 다행히도 이때 어머니와 동생이 와서 저를 잠깐이라도 보고 갔기에 망정이지 안 그랬음 저는 홀로 수술실로 갈 뻔 했습니다.ㅎㅎㅎㅎ 수술 시간은 언제든지 바뀔 수 있기 때문에 보호자분들은 미리 와서 기다리는 게 낫다는 걸 새삼스레 깨달았습니다. 이 대학병원은 수술실 앞에 보호자 대기실이 없어 병실에서 기다려야 해서 간호사실 앞에서 짤막하게 어머니와 동생에게 인사를 남기고 간호사 선생님이 수술 전 최종 확인을 한 후 여사님이 저를 수술실로 옮기셨습니다. 옮겨지며 여사님이 너무 긴장하지 말라고 하셨지만 막상 휠체어를 타고 옮겨지니 저절로 긴장이 되더군요. 그래서 계속 얌전히 깬다, 얌전히 깨어난다 하며 자기암시를 걸고 내려갔습니다. 수술실 앞, 대기해 있는 카트로 옮겨 타고 간호사 선생님과 함께 수술실로 이동하는데 막상 카트를 타니 긴장이 풀려버려서 선생님에게 방이 몇 개 있는지 물어보고 수술방 앞에서 잠시 대기하면서도 이곳저곳 둘러보고 수술방 들어와서도 오호~ 대학병원 수술 방은 이렇군, 어? 저 수술 등은 우리 꺼랑 똑같은 거 쓰네? 이러고 있었답니다. 이런 제 모습을 보며 마취과선생님이 뭘 그렇게 이것저것 보시나요? 하며 웃으시는데 속으로는 뭐 이런 환자가? 하셨을거에요.ㅋㅋㅋ 친절하게 선생님이 수술 전 환자확인을 하시고 산소마스크를 씌워주며 심호흡을 하라고 하시는데 일할 때 나는 저 반대편 사람들이었는데 지금 나는 환자로 누워 있으니 뭔가 이상하고 어색해서 환자들이 이런 시선에서 의료진을 바라보는 구나 라는걸 느꼈습니다. 그 시선으로 보는 의료진들은 수술 준비도 하고 마취약도 재고 기계도 조작하고 있어서 바쁩니다. 그래서 이런 낯선 환경에 떨어진 환자들은 의료진을 방해 할 까봐 의사표현을 하기 조금 힘들어서 옆에서 친절하게 물어봐주는 의료진이 있으면 참 기쁩니다. 그런 것을 느끼며 잘 부탁드린다고 하고 심호흡을 하고 있는데 눈앞의 마취과 선생님이 마취과 인턴으로 보이는 선생님을 혼내고 계십니다. 그렇게 혼을 내시며 저에게 이제 마취약이 들어갈 거라고 하시는데 저 선생님 무서워료오우우라고 한거 까지가 저의 수술실 기억의 전부 입니다. 그 사이에는 수술을 하고 전신마취에서 저를 깨우셨겠지만 아무런 기억이 없습니다. 아아,……. 프로포폴(전신마취제)의 힘은 대단합니다!…….대략 2초 만에 의식이 없어진 것 같습니다. 수술이 끝나고 눈을 뜨며 정신을 차려보니 회복실 천장이 보였습니다. 손을 들어 술부를 만져보려는데 그동안 몸이 굳어서 팔이 잘 안 움직여집니다? 그래서 열심히 꼼질꼼질 하며 고개도 좌우로 조금씩 돌려보고 심호흡도 쓰읍~후~ 쓰읍~후 하며 하다 보니 조금씩 풀려서 수술 부위 쪽을 만져봤습니다. 두툼하게 드레싱이 되어 있는 게 느껴지고 오른쪽 쇄골 쪽으로는 배액관(보통 피주머니라고 하죠)이 달려있는게 느껴져서 아, 진짜 워보이를 내 몸에서 떼어 냈구나 했습니다. 그런데 제 주변에 사람이 아무도 없어서 잘 안 나오는 목소리로 "지금 몇 시쯤 됐나요?" 하고 물으니 6시 10분이라고 대답하는 목소리가 들리고 흐릿하게 사람의 형체가 보였습니다. 그래서 3시간이나 지났다는 사실을 알고 바로 물어 봤습니다. "저 깰 때 얌전히 깼나요?" 그러자 간호사 선생님이 웃으시며 “예, 잘 깨셨어요.ㅎㅎ”하며 대답해주셔서 계속 자기 암시를 건 게 효과가 있구나 싶어 안도의 한숨을 쉬었습니다. 그러고 얼마 뒤, 정신을 거의 다 차린 저는 카트를 타고 병실로 옮겨집니다. 병실로 오니 아버지, 어머니, 동생이 저를 기다리고 있었고 침대로 옮겨지고 나니까 수술한 부위가 얼얼하게 아파오기 시작했습니다. 그래도 아직은 참을 만해서 자기 전에 진통제 맞아야지 생각하고 부모님과 이런 저런 이야기를 하니 담당의 선생님께서 병실로 올라오셔서 제 수술 경과를 설명해 주셨습니다. 수술 장에서 시행한 조직 결과상에서 악성종양으로 나와서 전 절제술을 시행했고 주변 임파선으로도 전이가 좀 심해서 대부분의 임파선을 제거했고 잔여 임파선 제거를 위해서 방사성 요오드 치료를 시행할 필요가 있다는 설명을 듣고 부모님은 집으로 돌아가셨습니다. 물론 수술 전에 임파선 전이까지 있을 수 있다는 설명을 들었지만 방사성 요오드 치료만큼은 안 받고 싶었는데 필요하다는 설명을 들으니 조금 울적했습니다. 이후에는 동생이 남아서 간병을 해주었는데 그날 12시까지 금식 유지라서 계속 물 생각 밖에 나지 않았습니다……. 그 날 따라 날이 더워서 병실도 더운데 냉방을 안 해줘서 목이 빨리 말랐고 물로 가글도 해 봤지만 목 안 쪽까지는 물이 가지 않아서 좀 힘들었습니다. 그러다 10시가 넘어서 수술부위 통증이 심해져서 진통제 주사를 맞고 나니 그나마 좀 살것 같았습니다. 일할 때는 매번 환자들에게 아프면 너무 참지 말고 이야기 하라고 설명했는데 막상 제가 아플 때는 미련하게 참았던 것 같습니다. 그렇게 진통제 주사를 맞고 술부 통증은 나아 졌지만 목마름과 더위 때문에 계속 잠들지 못하고 깨있는 상태로 12시를 넘겨 드디어 금식이 풀렸습니다!!!!!!!!!! 정말 14시간 만에 마시는 물은............ 원효대사께서 해골 물을 모르고 마셨을 때가 이런 느낌이었을까? 싶었습니다. 그냥 물 일 뿐인데도 어찌나 달고 시원하던지.........도 잠시. 물을 삼키니까 수술부위가 당겨지기 시작하더군요……. 아... 이래서 아이스크림이 먹기 쉬울꺼라고 했었나 봅니다. 그래도 목마름이 해결되었으니 수고한 나를 다독이며 잠을 청했습니다. 다음날 아침, 첫 끼니로 나온 죽을 먹으며 어제와는 다르게 많이 아프지 않고 잘 먹혀서 열심히 매 끼니마다 식사를 해치웠습니다. 보통 병원에 입원해서 수술하고 나면 살이 빠진다고 하던데 저는 입원 하기 전보다 더 잘 먹고 덜 움직여서 그런지 1kg이 쪄서 왔습니다……. 허허 3. 수술 후 부터 퇴원까지 수술 후 생활은 간간히 타임라인에 올렸던 것처럼 지루한 일상이었습니다. 수술 한 지 다음날에 2인실에서 다인실로 옮겨서 1주일가량 있었는데 성별별로 다인실을 구분해 놔서 같이 쓴 환자분들이 다 여성분 이었습니다. 대상 포진 환자분, 저랑 똑같은 교수님에게 수술 받은 갑상선암 환자분, 뫼니에르병 환자분, 구강암 환자분 등등 여러 환자분들이 거쳐 갔습니다. 다인실이다 보니 TV 보는 건 포기 했고 병문안 오신 친척 분들이랑 친구들 만나고 입원 기간 중간에 국민연금공단 공채 마감일이 껴 있어서 노트북 들고 와서 자소서 쓰고 있었네요…….그러고는 할 게 없어서 계속 졸다가 식사하고 졸다가 식사하고 했었습니다. 수술 후에는 2일에 한 번씩 술부 소독을 하면서 담당의 선생님이 상태를 봐 주셨고 계속 휴일이 지속되어 교수님은 퇴원 전까지 한 2번 본 것 같습니다. 수술 후 통증은 진통제를 먹는 약으로 먹어서 그런지 빨리 없어져서 수술 다음날부터 풀대를 끌고 계속 돌아다녔습니다. ㅎㅎ 달려있는 배액관도 열심히 짜줘서 그런지 색깔이랑 양도 빨리 줄었습니다. 그렇게 지내다가 5/8 아침, 드디어 교수님이 저를 보셨고 배액통도 보시더니 오늘 배액통 빼고 내일 퇴원하자고 하셨습니다! 기쁨의 내적 댄스를 추면서 수술부위 소독 겸 배액통 제거를 하러 처치실로 가서 배액통을 빼는데 몸 안에서 긴 관이 쑤욱~하고 빠지니까 느낌이 썩 유쾌하지 않고 꽤 이상하더군요. 그렇게 관을 빼고 퇴원 준비를 하면서 마지막 날을 보냈습니다. 퇴원날 당일인 5/9, 저는 수술 방에서 한 조직검사 결과가 아직 안 나와서 중증환자 산정특례라는 제도를 신청 하지 못해서 가퇴원으로 처리를 하고 간호사 선생님에게 퇴원약 및 주의사항 설명을 듣고 가정산을 하고 10시쯤 집에 왔습니다. 투표일이었기에 짐을 내려두고 바로 투표소로 가서 권리를 행사하고 왔었죠. 그래서 타임라인에 인증 글도 올렸었고요. ㅎㅎㅎㅎ 퇴원 기념으로 점심에 입원했을때 부터 정말 먹고 싶어서 노래를 불렀던 교x 허니 오리지널을 시켜서 먹었는데 그 사이에 위가 줄었는지 동생이랑 둘이서 1마리를 못 먹고 남겼습니다 ㅠㅠ 수술 다음날부터 잘 먹어서 저의 위장을 의심하지 않았는데 제 위장은 약해져 있었나 봅니다... 여기까지 수술에 관련된 이야기를 했습니다. 1주일 가량 입원하면서 가장 많이 느꼈던 거는 '그래도 나는 운이 좋았구나.'라는 것입니다. 특히 다인실을 쓰면서 본 다양한 환자분들을 보면서 많이 느꼈었는데 바로 옆 자리 환자분은 갑상선 암세포가 경부쪽 신경을 감싸고 있어 신경을 제거하고 다른 신경을 찾아 접합한다고 성형외과와 협업해서 8시간동안 수술을 받으시고 건너편 구강암 환자분은 너무 늦게 발견해서 경부 쪽까지 암이 전이되어 절제술을 하면서 너무 많은 조직들이 손상되어 허벅지쪽 피부를 떼서 이식술도 하셨는데 이식한 부위 쪽에 염증이 발견되어 결국 중환자실로 가셨구요. 이런 분들을 보면서 비교를 하면 안 되지만 그래도 빨리 발견을 하고 수술을 해서 임파선 전이만으로 끝난 내가 얼마나 운이 좋은 편이었나 깨달을 수 있는 시간이었습니다. 이제 남은 이야기는 방사성 요오드 치료와 술부 흉터 관리, 각종 보험 관련 정산 입니다. 그래서 3부로 끝낼 수 있을 것 같아요. 횡설 수설 하고 정신없이 긴 글이지만 읽어 주셔서 언제나 감사합니다. 궁금한 게 있으시면 댓글에 적어주세요. 아는 범위 내에서는 답변해 드리겠습니다. ㅎㅎ Warning: Use of undefined constant no - assumed 'no' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/redtea/html/a_skin/bbsd/view.php on line 133 Warning: Use of undefined constant no - assumed 'no' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/redtea/html/a_skin/bbsd/view.php on line 146 Warning: Use of undefined constant vote - assumed 'vote' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/redtea/html/a_skin/bbsd/view.php on line 161 13
