안녕하세요. 절대 공부가 하기 싫어 홍차넷을 구경중인 것은 아닌 단디입니다. 문득 자유게시판에 글을 쓴 적이 있나.. 싶어 이야기를 하나 해볼까 합니다. 절대적으로 제 개인적 경험에 의거하였고 과도한 일반화의 오류가 넘쳐흐를 수도 있으며 전혀 과학적인 기법이 없는 글임을 밝힙니다. 저는 지금까지 한 하숙집에서 4년째 거주해오고 있습니다. 하숙집이란 게 다들 그렇지만 증축된 형식의 방에서 지내고 있습니다. 밥도 맛있고 오래되서 그런지 정도 생긴 집입니다. 저는 저를 빼고 3명과 함께 같은 층에서 생활중입니다. 지금까지 제가 4년동안 사는동안 남은 방에는 총 12명이 들어와서 살다가 나갔습니다. 제가 사는 곳은 어느 하숙집, 원룸이 다 그렇겠지만 방음 문제가 있습니다. 인테리어 쪽 일하는 여자친구 말로는 아마 증축된 방이라 합판 사이에 간단하게 스티로폼 댄 형식으로 집이 되있을거라고 그래서 방음이 안되는 것일거라고 이야기하더군요. 어느정도로 방음이 안되냐면, 밤에 전화하면 말소리가 다 들립니다. 아침에 옆방 모닝콜에 일어난 게 제 모닝콜 들은 횟수만큼 되는 듯 싶습니다. (다행인 건 제가 아침형 인간이라는 점입니다) 조용할 때는 진동소리도 다 들립니다. 끝방에서 카톡왔숑 카톡왔숑도 간혹 흐릿하게 들립니다. (1)성비 지금까지 12명의 들어왔다가 지금까지 사는 사람들 중에 여자 : 1명, 남자 : 11명의 성비를 보입니다. 남자 하숙인데 저 살았던 여자분은 미쿡여성분이신데 아주 프리하게 살다가(심지어 두달을 살았는데 얼굴을 못봄) 하숙집 아주머니께 말도 안하고 짐가방 싸들고 출국했답니다. 성비가 너무 불균형적이라 판단이 불가능하군요. (2)국적 한국인 : 10명, 미국인 : 1명, 일본인 : 1명의 국적을 가지고 있습니다. 일본인에 대한 제 이미지는 뭔가 남을 많이 배려해줄 것 같고 선진국의 그 깨끗한 일본거리 이미지가 많았습니다. 얼마 전에도 나이 드신 만학도의 일본분께서 잠시 사시다가 가셨는데(제가 사는 층은 아니고 밥만 같이 먹었습니다) 되게 예의바르시고, 식사도 정말 정갈하게 하셨습니다. 하지만 저랑 같은 층에 살던 그 분은 전혀 달랐습니다. 20대 중반의 경영학도였는데, 방음이 안되는 걸 알면서도 오키나와에 있던 여자친구와 매일밤 12시에 통화를 하더군요. 정말 지옥같았습니다. 말을 해도 그 다음날 또 하고.. 제발 빨리 떠나길 바랬던 사람이었죠. 일본인에 대한 저의 어쩌면 수준 낮을수도 있는 편견은 그냥 부서졌습니다. 그 날 이후로 국가고 뭐고 역시 사람이 중요하다는 사실을 깨달았습니다. 덕분에 좋은 깨달음을 얻었죠. 일본에 대한 이미지로 일본인을 판단하던 어쩌면 차별로 이어질 수도 있는 이미지를 깨부실 수 있었던 좋은 경험이었습니다. 멘탈 수련도 많이 되었구요. (3)군대 남성 10명 중에 군필자가 5명이고 미필자가 4명이었습니다. 지금까지의 표본사례로 본다면 군필자와 소음트러블 0회, 미필자와 소음트러블 셀 수가 없다. 더군요. 군대가면 철든다는 말은 무슨 개뼈다귀 같은 소리야 철들놈은 나이들면 철들어인데 좀 생각이 변하더군요. 사례 1. A군은 월드컵 기간에 친구 4명을 데려와 새벽 4시부터 축구를 봅니다. 문을 열고 떠들면서요. 벽은 왜 그렇게 차는지.. 사례 2. B군은 새벽 2~3시에 들어오는데 친구를 집에서 재우는 걸 좋아합니다. 조용히 씻고 자도 될 시간에 꼭 수다를 떨고 잡니다. 사례 3. C군은 A군의 친구입니다. A군이 나간 방을 인수인계받고 들어왔습니다. 유유상종입니다. 결과적으로 미필인 분들이 옆방에 들어오면 상당히 피곤해지는 경우가 많습니다. 어려서일까요? 공동체 생활을 안해봐서..? 제 경험 상은 군필인 분들은 아무래도 학교 생활을 바쁘게 하다보니 누군가를 데려오는 경우나 밤 늦게 활동하는 경우가 드물어서 그런 것 같더군요. 반대로 미필인 분들은 한창 노는 경우니까요. 사실 이것도 군필 미필의 문제가 아니라 그 사람의 생활습관 문제에 가깝겠지요. 타인에 대한 배려랄까.. 결국 제가 4년째 살면서 변한 점은 우선 이어플러그를 구매했다는 점, 둘째로 소음에 대처하는 방법이 능숙해졌다는 점입니다. 이어플러그는 그냥 전화정도 할 때, 그냥 끼고 잡니다. 일일이 처리하기도 귀찮아요. 둘째로 소음에 대처하는 방법은요. 직접가서 말해도 의미가 없다는 점입니다. 직접 가서 말할 경우 그 사람과 나는 같은 등급의 위치에 있기 때문에 씨알도 안먹히는 경우가 많더군요. 저는 세입자고, 집주인한테 말해야 합니다. 늘 아침을 먹기 때문에 하숙집 아주머니께 말씀을 드립니다. 죄송스럽지만 이게 제일 빠르고 효과적이더군요. 강박증이라고까지 해야될지 모르지만, 사실 방음이 안되는 집에 살면 가장 불편한게 내가 피해를 주지 않아야 하기 때문에 조용히 살아야 한다는 점입니다. 그래서 밤 11시 이후로는 옆방이 빈 경우를 제외하면 컴퓨터할 때 이어폰을 빼본 적이 없고, 심지어 여자친구랑 통화도 안합니다. 그래서 통화량이 한달에 0일때도 있어요. (좋... 좋은건가?) 어느 날, 내가 너무 조용해서 이 사람들이 자기들이 시끄러운 걸 모르나 싶기도 했지만, 그래도 피해주긴 싫어서 조용히 살고 있습니다. 특히 지금 사는 분 중에 한 분은 딱봐도 노답소리가 나옵니다. 제가 이 분을 보면서 제 생활습관을 정말 돌아보게 되었는데요. 얼굴을 제대로 볼 일이 없다보니(직접 클레임을 안하기 때문에) 사실 누가 사는지 잘 모릅니다. 그러다가 어느날 식당에를 갔는데 같이 밥먹는 식당에서 핸드폰 소리를 왕창 켜놓고 통화를 하며, 의자도 매번 질질 끌고 그냥 보고 있으면 와, 혼자 사는 집처럼 사는 사람이네라는 생각이 들었는데 알고보니 제가 사는 층의 그 사람이더군요. 화장실 불은 끄지를 않고, 문은 쾅쾅우당탕 닫고, 담배도 화장실에서 피고.. 솔직히 딱 한번 엄청 화가난 적이 있었는데, 소음 클레임을 한번 직접 말했더니 그 다음 몇일 안되서 새벽에 친구랑 전화하면서 밖으로 나가면서 "시끄럽다고 어떤 새끼가 XX해서 나가서 해야돼 아 XXXX" 라는 이야기가 들리더군요. 제 안의 야만용사가 뛰쳐나올 뻔 했지만 참았습니다. 역대급 최악의 층메이트입니다. 오죽하면 얼마전에 기침을 콜록콜록콜록 계속 하길래 속으로 기뻐했어요. 와 감기 걸렸나보다. 많이 좀 아파라 라며.. 나쁜 마음인 걸 알지만 좋긴 하더라구요. 의자에 발가락이나 찧었으면 좋겠다 이런 생각이나 하고 있고.. 그래도 다행인 건, 초반에 제가 아주머니께 말씀드려도 그래? 정도로 반응하셨는데 몇 일 전에 이 사람이 문을 쾅쾅쾅쾅 새벽에 닫는 거에 2시에 일어나서 한숨도 못자시고는 극딜을 해주셨습니다. 든든한 아군이 늘었죠! 어쨌든 빨리 좀 나가줬으면 좋겠습니다. 평화로운 생활을 다시 이어가고 싶네요. 그렇게 방음이 안되는데 왜 사냐고 궁금하실 수도 있지만, 그냥 오래 살아서 여기가 편하더라구요. 보통 나머지 세 명중에 한두명이 트러블 있는 경우는 있는데, 이렇게 세 명 다 스트레스 주는 건 처음이긴하지만 뭐 곧 나간다고 하고 방학이라 집에도 거의 없어서 참고 지내고 있습니다. 여러분은 부디 이런 문제없이 잘 지내시길 바랍니다. 혹시 이런 문제를 겪고 계시다면 힘내시길 바랍니다. *네이버 웹툰 재앙은 미묘하게 라는 작품을 보며 저는 이해했습니다. 그들의 스트레스를.. 층간소음 때문에 사고가 나는 그 심리는 이해합니다. 범죄는 공감하지 못하지만요. 하숙집, 특히 내력벽이 아닌 건식벽체로 구획이 된 곳은 생활소음이 장난아니죠(사실 제목의 층간소음은 아래층과 윗층의 소음을 의미하므로 글내용과는 조금 의미가 다릅니다.)
