오래 안된 것 같습니다. '자신에게 직접적으로 해가 되는 정책을 주장하는 정치인을 지지하는 행위'에 대한 한숨이 '자신에게 직접적으로 이익이 되는 정책을 주장하는 정치인을 지지하는 행위'에 대한 지지 발언으로 옮겨간 것이요. 그런데 자기에게 이익이 되는 정책을 주장하는 정치인 혹은 단체가 없으면 어떻게 하나요? 어떤 사람들은 그래도 사회 전체에 이득이 돌아갈 수 있도록 투표해야 한다고 합니다. (대개 자신이 지지하는 정당에 투표해야 한다고 생각하겠죠. 그것이 사회 전체에 이득이라고 볼테니까요.) 그러나 그 사람에게는 두 대립한 정당이 별 차이가 없어 보일 수도 있습니다. 예컨데, 미국 남북전쟁에서 북쪽이 흑인을 해방하지도 않았다면, 흑인에게 남북전쟁은 누가 이겨도 마찬가지 아니었을까요? (여기서 저는 역알못이라 남북전쟁을 매우 간단하게 생각하고 가겠습니다.) 결국 이러한 정치 사정권 외부에 있는 사람들의 표는 쉽게 흔들리는 표가 되겠지요. 저는 "그래도 당신이 이 사회 속에서 살고 있는데, 정권 교체에 힘을 주지 않으면 이기적인 것이 아니냐"라는 것은 그 사람들의 시점을 잘 이해하지 못한 발언 같다는 생각이 듭니다. 사람들은 한가지 특성만을 지니고, 하나의 그룹에만 속해 있는 것이 아닙니다. 한가지 특성은 사회적 약자이지만, 다른 특성은 사회적 기득권일 수도 있지요. 자신의 약자적 특성은 정치에서 외면당하지만, 기득권적 특성은 또 다를 수도 있습니다. 특이하게도 사람들은 자신의 약자적 특성을 더 많이 느끼고, 그것으로 유대감을 느끼기도 합니다. 그렇다면 정권 교체를 하고 싶은 사람들이 그런 약자적 특수성을 더 많이 끌어안고, 더 많은 연대를 이끌어 내는 것이 현실적으로 더 나은 선택 아닌가 하는 생각을 합니다. http://slownews.kr/62597 p.s. 티타임 글과 위 기사를 보면서 든 생각이었기에 첨부해봅니다.
