  친구네 집에 놀러갔는데 고불소 치약을 사용하고 있더군요. 불소가 치아 관리에 가장 중요한 녀석 중 하나임은 알고 있었으나, 전 생활건강 회사들을 믿었기에 치약을 의심한 적은 없었습니다. 그런데 찾아보다 보니 좀 놀랍더군요. 심지어 아이 치약에 대한 것도 일반적인 상식에서 잘못 알려진게 있어서, 이것 저것 찾아본 김에 내용을 공유하고자 합니다. *** 치아에 대한 전문적 지식은 없는 일반인이 인터넷 서핑으로 찾은 결과이니 맹신하지 말아 주세요. 나름대로 근거를 확인하고 쓰는 글이지만 전문적 지식이 없다보니 틀릴 수 있습니다. 1. 성인의 양치질 1.1 치약, 불소 현재 한국 시중에 있는 치약들은 대부분 불소함량이 1000ppm 미만입니다. 그러나 충치예방을 위한 치약의 불소는 1500ppm이 더 좋다는 연구결과들이 여럿 있고, 치과학계의 주류의견으로 보입니다. 그러나 고불소치약으로 찾아보면 생각보다 너무 비싸더군요. 시중에 불소량이 충분한(1500ppm인근) 치약 중 적절한 가격의 치약은 colgate치약으로, 세계적으로 가장 많이 팔리는 브랜드라고 하여, 개인적으로는 현재 치약을 다 쓰는대로 colgate만 사용할 계획입니다. 참고 기사 : http://www.dentalnews.or.kr/news/article.html?no=31890 유튜브 영상(나는의사다) : https://youtu.be/WtjyKLdq3x4?t=743 1.2 칫솔 선택 이제까지 했던 치약이 성능이 부족한 치약이었다는 점에 놀라서 칫솔에 관해서도 찾아보았습니다. 근데 칫솔에 대해서는 딱히 정답이라고 할만한 내용이 없네요. 몇가지 치과 의사 유튜버들을 찾아보고 내용을 정리해 보았습니다. * 치과왕 김태형 : 진동칫솔 추천 / 본인은 필립스 소닉 사용중이나 치주염 등 더 안좋은 사람은 오랄비 진동칫솔 추천. * 치대남_치과의사 고광욱 : 자주 바꾸는게 가장 중요하다! 칫솔 중에서는 이중미세모 추천. CDC guideline에서는 12~16주에 바꾸는 것을 추천하나 한국인은 좀 더 자주 이빨 닦기 때문에 한 달에 한 번 교체를 추천하며, 교체를 편하게 하기 위해서 비싸지 않은 칫솔 추천 * 서울브라운치과 TV : 잘 나가는 칫솔 4가지 리뷰(큐라덴, 조르단, 생활도감, 켄트, 왕타칫솔) 중에서, 본인은 조르단 추천, 가성비적으로 생활도감 추천 이외에 인터넷에서 아개운 칫솔을 추천하는 글을 보았는데(비전문가, 느낌상 좋다고 하심) 칫솔질이 잇몸을 상하게 할 수도 있다고 생각되서 개인적으로는 다음엔 이솔루션 칫솔을 써볼까 합니다. 내가 칫솔질을 세게 하는건 아닌가 해서 조르단 gum protector 칫솔을 사서 써보고 있는데요, 이게 힘을 세게 주면 칫솔이 구부러지는 구조라고 해서 잇몸보호가 된다고 하는데 어지간히 세지 않아서는 굽혀지지 않아서 쓸모있는 기능은 아닌 듯 합니다.(칫솔이나 브랜드 자체는 괜찮은 것 같습니다) 1.3 이 닦는 법 유튜버 '치대남_치과의사 고광욱' 영상 중, 여러가지 도구를 사용할 경우, 순서는 워터픽 > 치실 > 치간칫솔 > 칫솔 순으로 사용을 권하였습니다. 2. 아이의 양치질 IAPD (International Association of Paediatric Dentistry, 주 : 국제 소아치과 연합) 에서는 유치가 난 이후 양치질은 불소 함유 치약을 사용하라고 합니다. 아이 부모라면 쌀알 한알 이런식으로 알고 계실텐데요, 어차피 그정도 양은 다 먹더라도 별 문제가 없을 확률이 굉장히 높고, 만약 아이가 치약을 못뱉고 먹는다면 그때 다른 방법을 강구해도 되겠죠. 전 아이 쓰던게 저불소 치약이라 있던거 당근에 뿌리고 주고 새로 샀습니다. 소비자 선호도 때문인 것 같은데, 한국에선 유아에겐 저불소치약이 대세인 것 같고, 닥터제니 닥터치카 닥터노아 같은 브랜드나 외국계 브랜드(조르단 등) 에서 어린이용 1000ppm불소 치약들이 있는거 같습니다. * 마치며 제가 찾아본 바에 의하면 불소 1000 ppm미만의 치약은 충치 예방 효과가 별로 없다고 하는데, 한국 치약은 다수가 1000ppm 미만입니다. 아이 치약은 말할 것도 없고요. (직접 확인하지 않았으나 듣기로는) 외국의 경우 수돗물에 불소 넣은 경우도 많은데, 우리나라는 예전에 인천에서 수돗물 불소 논쟁이 있었으나 결국 사용하지 않는 것으로 결정하였습니다. 저도 의료계 종사하고 있는데 외국에 비해서 한국에서는 공장에서 만든 것이나 약, 수술 같은 것에 대한 거부감이 강한 편임을 종종 느끼곤 합니다. 그런데 문화적인 거부감으로 합리적인 판단이 되지 않아 충치가 많은것 같아서 안타깝습니다. 이미 학계에서는 결론이 난 이야기인데도 우리나라는 제대로 된 치약을 쓰지 않는 경우가 많았다는게 놀랍네요. - 본문에 언급된 어떠한 업체 및 인물과 이해관계가 없음을 밝힙니다. - 유튜버 '치대남_치과의사 고광욱' 은 전 유디치과 대표로, 공격적인 영업방식 등 치과의사들에게 평이 좋지는 않은 것으로 알고 있습니다. 다만 치의학적인 내용에서 문제가 있지는 않을 것으로 생각하였습니다.
