예전부터 써보고 싶었던 글인데 이제야 쓰네요. 저는 어릴 때부터 만화를 엄청나게 보고 자란 세대에요. 90년대부터 2000년대 초반까지, 그 때만 해도 일본만화가 주류였는데 이제 한국 웹툰은 일본만화의 다양성 뿐만 아니라 재미 역시 일본 만화를 넘어섰다고 봐도 과언이 아닌 것 같습니다. 30대쯤 되니 단편적이고 멋진 모습만 보여주는 캐릭터들(ex: 네이버 눈높이 선생님)이 식상하고 공감가지 않아요. 이런 모습도 있지만 저런모습도 있고, 가끔은 바닥도 치는 주인공들, 그리고 조연들이라고 크리링처럼 후반 병풍 역할이 아니고 저마다 스토리가 있고 생명력 있는 만화들이 훨씬 공감이 가더라구요. 그러다보니 좀더 작가가 전개에 고민한 흔적이 있고 자료조사가 있는 만화들이 재미있고 그게 아니면 아예 머리비우고 웃을 수 있는 개그만화가 좋아요. 혹시 이런 취향에 어느정도 공감이 간다면 아래 웹툰들이 재미있을거에요. 물론 소재들도 30대들이 좋아할만한 소재들이 많습니다. 아래는 글을 쓰는 현재 2020년 7월 1일 기준으로 연재가 종료되지 않은 웹툰만 있습니다. 망자의 서(다음, 월요일) GAR2, 오쌤 현재 드라마로 제작중이구요, 이 글을 쓰는 2020년 6월 29일 기준 완결을 향해 다가가고 있습니다. 미스터리 스릴러 장르인데 보험금을 타내려고 죽음을 위장한 유도선수 출신 주인공의 남편이 어느 날 갑자기 사라지는걸로 시작합니다. 그리고 주인공이 남편의 흔적을 쫓으면서 누명을 쓰고 사건에 휘말리게 되요. 주인공 과로사하겠다 싶을만큼 작품 내에서 한 순간도 쉬지 못하고 고생하면서 한꺼풀 한꺼풀 사건의 내막을 벗겨가는게 주 내용입니다. 어마어마하게 탄탄한 전개가 특징이에요. 이 만화는 선악이 분명한 편입니다. 다만 그마저도 약간의 고민의 여지를 남겨두기는 하지만요. 결국 주인공이 거대한 악과 싸우는 구도로 단순하게 느껴질 수 있지만 그 악이 미치도록 치밀해서 설득력 있고 감정이입되며, 생동감있게 다가오는 만화입니다. 신성한, 이혼(다음, 화요일) 강/태경 '그것들'과 '강도'로 유명한 강/태경 작가님의 소프트한 신작입니다. 소재가 무려 '이혼'이에요. 옴니버스식으로 주인공인 변호사가 이혼 소송을 맡아 재판을 진행하면서 큰 줄기의 스토리가 이어지는 방식으로 전개되요. 이 만화에서 가장 인상적인건 충실한 법, 판례에 대한 자료조사와 그런 자료조사를 바탕으로 풀어내는 결코 현실감 넘치는 이야기입니다. 댓글에서야 누가 나쁜놈이니 하면서 싸우지만, 이혼이라는게 사실 누가 일방적으로 나쁘고 좋고가 얼마나 있겠습니까. 이 웹툰 역시 현실에서도 있었을법한 사건(이를테면 안아키라던가)을 바탕으로, 이혼하는 서로의 입장을 담담하게 그려내요. 대사도 훌륭하고, 그야말로 어른을 위한 드라마입니다. 이제 시즌 1이 마무리되었으니 정주행하기에 더없이 좋은 타이밍입니다. 특히 결혼하신 분들이나 이혼경험이 있으신 분들은 정말 재미있으실 거에요. 쌍갑포차(다음, 수요일) 배혜수 이미 황정음 출연 드라마로 JTBC에서 방영중인걸로 알고있는데 어떻게 되고있는지 모르겠네요. 우리나라 근현대 배경을 좋아하시거나 혹은 관심있는 분들께는 최고의 작품일거에요. 작가님이 고증에 충실하신것도 언급할만 하지만 사실 이 만화 최고의 장점은 작품 전반에 흐르는 지극히 한국적인 소재들과 그 밑에 깔려있는 지극히 한국적인 정서에요. 1945년 해방 이후 근현대사에 있었을 법한 사건들과 소재들 - 씨받이, 귀환용사, 암시장 등등-을 마치 그 당시에 살아계셨던분(실제로 살아계셨을지도 모르겠습니다. 작가님 정체 미상입니다...) 처럼 생생하게 풀어냅니다. 그리고 이야기 안에 흐르는 따뜻함과 인간에 대한 애정이야말로 그림이 다소 미숙한 작가님인데도 불구하고 이 만화를 명작이라 부르는데 손색이 없게 해줍니다. 결제하더라도 초반부터 보시기를 권합니다.
