사실 탐라에 쓰려다가 글 길어진 김에 이미지도 첨부해서 씁니다.; 이번에 갑자기 공부하기 싫은 느낌이 확 온 김에 마블 영화를 아이언맨1부터 다시 정주행중입니다. 개인적으로 영화같지도 않다고 취급하는 토르 1, 2는 제외합니다. 그리고 제가 언제부터 마블시리즈를 진짜 좋아했는지를 다시 한 번 깨닫게 됐네요. 여러분이 가장 좋아하시는 마블 시리즈는 어떤 영화인가요? 저는 아이언맨3입니다. 영화관에서 보고, 다음날 또 봤어요. 어벤저스 3도 두 번 봤지만 이정도는 아니었거든요. 아이언맨3는 아이언맨이라는 정체성의 정수가 담겨있는 액션신이 담긴 영화라 생각합니다. 여기부터는 강한 스포일러를 포함하고 있을 수 있으니, 꽤 오래된 작품이지만 스포일러를 원하지 않으시는 분은 뒤로가기를 눌러주세요. 아이언맨은 헐크버스터처럼 단순히 더 크고, 출력이 강해서 멋있는 경우도 있고  무엇이든 될 수 있어서 멋있는 경우도 있습니다.  하지만 크고 힘이 센 것은 아이언맨만이 가진 특색이 아닙니다. 오히려 헐크의 특색에 가깝죠. 그래서 헐크를 상대할 때 빼고는 스타크가 이를 착용하는 경우를 보이지 않습니다. 무엇이도 될 수 있는 것은 멋있어 보이긴 하지만, 그것을 과연 특색이라고 부를 수 있는 것일까요? 그렇기 때문에 저는 아이언맨3의 액션이 진짜 아이언맨 액션의 진수라 생각합니다. 로봇이라는 특색이 가지고 있는 제약과, 장점을 살리는 진짜 "탑승형 로봇" 액션의 진수를 보여준다고 생각하거든요. 아이언맨3에서 토니 스타크는 로봇을 원격 조종해서 전투를 하고. 일부만 착용하고 전투하고 일부는 날려보내서 적을 타격하고. 여러대의 로봇 군대가 알아서 전투하기도 하도록 지시하고 로봇을 탈출하고 로봇을 갈아타고 심지어 적에게 입힌 다음 폭파시켜 버리기도 합니다. 이런 부분들 때문에 어떤 의미로는 제 개인적으로는 마음에 드는 액션씬을 그려냈던 영화였습니다. 하지만 액션씬을 잘 만든 영화이기에 아이언맨3를 가장 좋아하고, 이 때문에 마블 시리즈의 팬이 되지는 않았어요. 제가 생각할 때 아이언맨3는 개인적으로 마블 영화들 중 인간의 성장을 가장 잘 그려냈다고 느꼈어요. 가장 강력한 인물 중 하나가 된 토니 스타크에게서 그 물리력을 빼앗고 정신적으로 극한의 상황까지 몰아쳤을 때, 그는 과연 이를 어떻게 극복할 것인지를 보여주는 영화라 생각합니다. 토니 스타크는 지구 상에서 가장 강력한 물리력을 가지고 있는 인간입니다. 하지만 그는 뉴욕에서의 사건 때문에 강한 트라우마를 갖게 되고 3일을 잠을 못 이루기도 합니다. 뉴욕이라는 이름만 들어도 숨을 못 쉴 정도로 패닉상태에 빠질 정도로요.  그는 자신의 약함을 통감하고, 더욱더 강해져야 한다고 생각하지만, 어디까지 강해져야 하는지 모른 채 그저 방황하고 있을 뿐입니다. 그러던 중 그는 더이상 아이언맨이 아니게 됩니다. 정확하게 표현하자면 He's not a man in the suit anymore.라고 표현해야할까요? 한국말로 어감이 잘 살지 않는 것 같아서; 그는 더이상 수트 안에 있는 인간이 아닙니다. 그럼 수트가 없는 스타크는 무엇인가요? 어벤저스 1에서 그는 Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist라 대답했습니다. 천재, 억만장자, 플레이보이, 자선가라구요. 하지만 이 정체성들이 그를 더이상 그를 정신적으로 강하게 지탱해주고 있지는 못한 것 같습니다. 정확하게는, 그가 그것들을 자신의 정체성으로 받아들이고 있지 않다고 생각하는게 맞다고 생각해요. 위의 정체성들이 자신이 가지고 있는 트라우마를 극복하는데 도움이 되지 않는 것들이거든요. 그런 수트에서 벗어난 취약하고, 정서적으로 불안한 상태에서 벗어나게 하는 것은 한 꼬마가 하는 말입니다. You're a mechanic right? You said so. Why don't you just build something? 아저씨는 공돌이라면서요? 그렇게 말했잖아요. 그럼 뭐라도 만들지 그래요? (장담하건대, 공돌이라고 저런 일을 할 수 있는건 아닙니다. 전 납땜하나 할 줄 모르는 공대생입니다.) 그리고 그는, 멋있다고 말할 수는 없지만, 동시에 너무나 멋진 방식의 새로운 수트와 장비들을 만들어 연인을 구출하기 위해 적진에 뛰어듭니다. 이 순간 그는 더 이상 man in the suit가 아닙니다. 하지만 그는 아이언맨 입니다. 이 영화의 단연 백미 중 하나는 clean slate protocol입니다. 클린 스레이트는 이전의 기록을 싹 지워버리고 새 출발을 할 때 쓰는 표현입니다. 그는 이 프로토콜을 시행하며 자신이 여태까지 만들어왔던 아이언맨 수트의 상당수를 폭죽놀이로 날려버립니다. View post on imgur.com이는 더 이상 그가 강함에 집착하지 않겠다는 의지를 표명하는 부분이라 생각합니다. 사실 토니 스타크의 가슴에 아크 리액터를 장착할 이유는 크지 않습니다. 가슴에 박혀있는 파편이 심장으로 파고드는 것을 막기 위해 전자석을 구동시킬 배터리 용도로 아크 리액터를 착용한다는 것은 어불성설이죠. 그런 의미에서 아이언맨 2에서 토니 스타크가 다 죽어가면서도 팔라듐 기반 아크 리액터를 가슴에서 뽑지 않는 장면은 굉장히 의아합니다. 왜 그는 가슴에서 아크 리액터를 뽑아내고 파편을 수술로 제거한 다음 아크 리액터를 로봇에 장착하고 사용하지 않는 것일까요? 그것은 토니 스타크가 자기 입으로 자신이 수트가 없더라도 정체성이 확고한 인간이라 이야기했지만, 사실 속으로는 그렇지 못하다고 생각하기 때문입니다. 하지만 그는 이제 아이언맨3에서 아크 리액터를 심장에서 뽑아내는 수술을 받습니다. 그는 이제 더 이상 자신의 정체성을 확립하는데 수트를 필요로 하지 않으니까요. 저는 아무래도 윈터 솔져가 제일 마음에 들고 기억에 남읍니다만 (10번 넘게 본 것 같네요)
성장이라는 컨셉으로는 말씀대로 저도 아이언맨 3가 가장 잘 보여주는 것이 아닐까 싶읍니다
mcu 솔로 무비들 태반이 성장이라던지 자아발견 이런 쪽을 초점으로 맞추는데 그 중에서도 가장 좋았어요
