 종각에 위치한 이문설농탕입니다. 1905년 정도에 개업했다고 하니 한세기 넘게 운영한 식당이네요. 한국에서 가장 오래된 식당으로 유명합니다. 이름답게 설렁탕을 파는 가게입니다. 수육도 같이 팝니다.  저는 방문하면 주로 설렁탕을 먹습니다. 식당이 영업한 세월만큼 설렁탕의 맛도 본래의 원형에 가깝습니다. 감질맛이라고 표현할만한 꼬릿한 향이 풍겨나옵니다. 사람에 따라 다르긴 하겠습니다만 대다수가 거부감 없이 먹을 정도로 크게 호불호가 갈릴정도의 향은 아닙니다. 조미료를 쓰지 않아서 그런지 국물이 다소 싱겁게 느껴지긴 합니다. 그리고 양지만 들어가있는 보통의 설렁탕집과는 다르게 우설, 지라, 머릿고기가 같이 들어있습니다. 저는 머릿고기의 식감이 맘에 들었습니다. 젤리처럼 쫄깃쫄깃해서 재밌게 느껴지더군요. 토렴방식으로 나오는데 밥알의 식감은 생각보단 별롭니다. 나쁘진 않지만 밥알이 뭉쳐져 있거나 생각보다 탄력이 없는 경우도 있었습니다. 설렁탕의 가격은 8,000원 입니다. 식당의 역사만봐도 한번쯤 방문해 볼만 한 식당입니다. 이전하지 않고 옛건물에서 영업했더라면 훨씬 더 좋았을텐데 아쉽습니다. 어쨌든 개인적으론 서울에서 가장 맛있는 설렁탕집이라고 생각합니다.  사진은 구글이미지에서 가져왔습니다. 위치첨부합니다.
