완전한 영알못이라 책으로 최대한으로 학습하고 후에 학원이든 다니려고 생각하고 있습니다. 토플,토익 이런준비가 아니라 시간이 얼마나 걸리든 영어문화권 사람들이랑 어색하지 않게 대화하는것이 목표입니다. 일단 서적으로 시작하려하는데 현재 가지고 있는것이 grammar in use 시리즈 이고 현재 basic 하고 있습니다. 그냥 오늘 이해 안된 부분 너무 궁금해서 못참겠으면 자막으로 다시 봐버리고, 내일은 다른거 보고 이런식으로 이해 안되도 쭉쭉 보시면서 슬슬 재미 붙이시면,
나중엔 굳이 공부 때문이 아니어도 시트콤 내용이 재밌어서 자연스럽게 보게 되더라구요.
그렇게 해당 TV쇼 자체에 익숙해지고, 캐릭터 자체에 정도 붙이시면, 그때 그때 극에서 나오는 일상 표현들,
Give me a hand나 If I were in your shoes 같은 것들, 들리기 시작할 거고, 이게 들리기 시작하는데 의미를 모르면, 그때부터 공부하시면 됩니다.
듣기 공부는 귀로 들리기 전부터 공부하겠다고 마음먹으면 생각하면 스트레스 받아요.
이해 하나도 안되도 좋으니, 귀에 자꾸 영어가 들어오게 틀어놓으실 환경을 갖추시고, 뭔소린지 하나도 몰라도 상관 없어요.
하드코어하게 24/7 영어를 들을 수 있는 환경을 강제로 만드는게 해외유학인거구요. 그래서 유학생들 영어가 빨리 느는거구요.
일단 귀가 들려야 말도 할 수 있습니다. 이젠 제대로 들린다. 근데 뜻을 모르겠다. 그러면 그때부터 궁금한거 하나씩 정리해 나가는 식으로 공부하시면 됩니다.

공부 시작하는 단계에선 여전히 러닝타임 짧은 시트콤, 애니메이션이 좋다고 생각해요.
이 방법이 좋은데 잘 안쓰는 이유는,
1. 시간이 오래 걸리고,
2. 영어 실력엔 도움이 되는데, 영어 시험에 그다지 도움 안되고,
3. 해외유학처럼 강제적으로 영어환경에 노출되어 있는 게 아니면, 억지로 영어환경을 조성해줘야해서 상당한 노력을 요구한다.
이 세 개가 걸림돌입니다.
미국 시트콤이나 애니메이션 같이 일상 영어 비중이 높고, 러닝타임이 짧은 TV쇼 무자막으로 지속적으로 보시면 좋습니다.
일주일에 몰아서 10편 보는건 의미없고, 하루에 한 편씩 꾸준히 챙겨보는게 좋습니다.
보는 방법은 완벽한 이해는 안해도 되니(이거 애초에 불가능합니다. 한국 TV쇼도 한단어 한단어 다 이해해가면서 보는거 아니잖아요. 앞뒤 문맥과 화면 상의 그림보고 눈치껏 이해하는 비중도 높아요.)
자막없이 그냥 20분~30분만 틀어놓고 딴짓 안하고 영상에만 온전히 집중하시면, 듣기는 금방 늘거에요.
이해 안되는 부분, 한문장 한문장 붙잡고 이게 무슨뜻이었지, 하면 물론 도움은 되겠지만 공부 효율이 구려지고, 흥미가 떨어지더라구요.

나중엔 굳이 공부 때문이 아니어도 시트콤 내용이 재밌어서 자연스럽게 보게 되더라구요.

Give me a hand나 If I were in your shoes 같은 것들, 들리기 시작할 거고, 이게 들리기 시작하는데 의미를 모르면, 그때부터 공부하시면 됩니다.
듣기 공부는 귀로 들리기 전부터 공부하겠다고 마음먹으면 생각하면 스트레스 받아요.
이해 하나도 안되도 좋으니, 귀에 자꾸 영어가 들어오게 틀어놓으실 환경을 갖추시고, 뭔소린지 하나도 몰라도 상관 없어요.
하드코어하게 24/7 영어를 들을 수 있는 환경을 강제로 만드는게 해외유학인거구요. 그래서 유학생들 영어가 빨리 느는거구요.
일단 귀가 들려야 말도 할 수 있습니다. 이젠 제대로 들린다. 근데 뜻을 모르겠다. 그러면 그때부터 궁금한거 하나씩 정리해 나가는 식으로 공부하시면 됩니다.
