안녕하세요. 친구들 모임에서 좀 고민이 되는 문제가 있어 여러분의 의견을 들어보고자 글을 남겨봅니다. 가급적 신원을 특정지을 수 있는 정보는 남기지 않겠지만 혹시나 하는 맘에 익명과 나중에 삭제도 할 수 있음을 양해부탁드립니다. 제가 참석하고 있는 모임 중에 고등학교 친구들 5~6명이 1년에 한두번 모여서 1박하고 노는 모임이 있습니다. 1박하고 논다고 불건전하게 노는 건 아니고 모여서 PC방을 가거나 숙소 잡고 숙소에서 보드게임하면서 노는 매우 건전한 모임이죠. 모임이 시작된건 벌써 10년이 넘었고 그 사이 각자 친구들도 많이 변해서 40대 초반 아재들이 되었습니다. 이 멤버 중에 자영업을 하는 친구 A가 있습니다. 최근에 문제 많았던 P제과를 운영하는 친구라서 매우 힘든 소리를 많이 합니다. 사실 자영업이 힘든건 어제오늘 얘기가 아니라서 모임을 할 때마다 회비로 매출을 적게나마 올려주곤 했습니다. 보통 각 멤버들이 1인당 2~3만원 정도 [회비로] 빵을 사는 형태로 진행했죠. 특히 최근 코로나때문에 모임을 1년 넘게 못해서 회비가 많이 쌓인 상태고 대형악재도 나온 상황이라 최근 모임을 재개하면서는 인당 최고 10만원까지도 회비로 빵 구입을 진행했습니다. (최고라고 한 것은 혼자사는 친구도 있어서 이 친구는 10만원어치 빵을 소화하기 힘들거든요) 그런데 이 때 A가 문제제기를 합니다. 1. 자기도 회비를 내는데 자기는 빵을 못 산다. 나도 살 수 있게 해 달라. 2. 자기 가게에서 자기가 빵을 사는건 이상하니 다른 거 (예를 들면 베라 아이스크림같은) 라도 살 수 있게 해 달라. 3. 대신 다른 멤버가 사는 비용의 반 정도만 지원해 달라. 좀 애매하긴 한데 그 친구 입장에서 생각하면 저런 요구를 하는게 이해가 안 가는 것은 아닙니다. 분명 똑같이 회비를 내는데 자기만 빼고 다른 멤버들은 회비로 빵을 사거든요. 충분히 문제 제기는 할 수 있다고 생각은 합니다. 하지만 다른 한편으로 생각하면 애초에 이렇게 빵을 사는 이유 자체가 이 친구 A를 돕자는 의미로 시작한건데 빵 외에 다른 걸 사달라고 하는 건 오히려 이중 혜택이 아닌가 하는 생각도 들죠. 일단 저는 저 얘기가 나왔을 때 그러면 A에게도 빵이든 뭐든 살 수 있게 금액적인 동일한 혜택을 주고 다음부터 회비로 뭔가를 사는 이 제도 자체를 없애는게 맞지 않냐는 의견을 냈습니다. 저도 사실 저런 빵보다는 베라 아이스크림이 더 낫거든요. 사실 이 모임은 매우친목적이고 사적인 모임이기 때문에 칼로 나누듯 딱딱 떨어지게 운영을 하지는 않습니다. 좋은 취지로 시작한 것이 서로 오해를 사게 하는 것 같기도 해서 좀 착찹하고요. 혹시 여러분이 이런 상황을 겪으신다면 어떻게 하실 것 같으신가요?
