은행나무가 매개동물 등의 멸종으로 인해서 해당 문에서 유일하게 살아남은 종이라는 걸 찾아 읽었는데, 거기에 딸려 나오는 얘기가 인간이 번식시키지 않으면 멸종할 가능성이 매우 높다는 거더라구요. 그래서 번식과정이 궁금해져서 보니, 암나무 숫나무 간 개화로 바람을 통한 수분이 이루어지고 그 열매의 경우에도 땅에 심어놓으면 꽤 발아율이 좋다는 것까지 찾았습니다. 거기다 추천하는 발아 방식도 이전해에 미리 땅에 심어놓는 거라고 되어 있구요. 이 경우에 딱히 다른 종류의 수목과도 생식 과정에 차이가 없어보이는데 은행나무가 유독 사람 손을 안 타면 멸종 가능성이 높은 종으로 분류되는 이유가 뭘까요...
