제가 외부에서 주로 사용하는 공용 와이파이는 KT WIFI, KT GIGA WIFI 등이 있고 버스나 공공장소에서는 SEOUL, Public WIFI 등에 접속해서 사용합니다. 비밀번호로 접속하는 것을 우선하고 잘 안될 때만 일반 접속을 통합니다. 그 외에 은행이나 관공서, 공공기관, 대형빌딩, 카페 등 자체적으로 와이파이를 운용하는 곳에서도 잘 쓰고 있습니다. 근데 이렇게 공용 와이파이를 이용하면 내가 로그인하는 웹 사이트나 사용 중인 앱의 비밀번호나 개인정보가 유출될 위험이 큰가요? 아니면 단순히 와이파이에 접속하여 사용하는 것 자체로 문제라기보다는 누군가가 의도적으로 와이파이를 통해 접촉해서 고의로 탈취할 의도가 있을 때만 실질적인 위협이 되는 건가요? 공용 와이파이 사용이 비밀번호나 개인정보의 유출이 있어서 위험한 거라면 정부나 단체 차원에서 공용 와이파이를 늘리는 일 자체를 하지 말아야 하는 게 맞지 않나 하는 의문도 듭니다. 인터넷에 접속해서 컴퓨터를 사용하다가 랜섬웨어에 걸릴 위험이 있다고 해서 아예 인터넷을 사용하지 말아야 한다고는 생각하지 않습니다. 다만 보안 관련해서 주의해야 할 필요는 있다고 생각합니다. 마찬가지로 공용 와이파이도 주의해서만 사용한다면 크게 문제시할 건 아니지 않나 싶은데요. 정말 현실적으로 위험한지, 사용해도 무방한지 궁금합니다.
