아직 2015년은 1달 정도는 남았죠. 그런데 제가 그동안 추가로 즐겨볼 게임이 없을 것 같아서 이 시점에서 2015년 내내 즐겨본 게임들을 이야기해볼까 합니다. 참고로 저는 PC 유저고, PS4나 XO 같은 거치형부터 3DS 같은 휴대용도 즐기지 않았습니다. 모바일도 마찬가지고요. 북미를 중심으로 하는 게임 업계에서 가장 신경 쓰는 11월에는 가장 대중적인 장르인 FPS 게임이 쏟아졌습니다. 액티비전의 콜 오브 듀티: 블랙 옵스 3, EA의 스타워즈 배틀프론트, 유비소프트의 레인보우 식스 시즈가 그렇습니다. 이 중에서 전 스타워즈 배틀프론트는 제가 스타워즈의 팬도 아니고, 베타 테스트 때부터 마음에 들지 않아서 아예 사질 않았네요. 블랙 옵스 3는 변화는 큰데, PC판은 최악이었네요. 캠페인도 코옵 모드가 망쳤다고 생각하고요. 그래서 멀티플레이와 좀비 모드를 꾸준히 즐기는데도 실망스럽습니다. 어쩌면 내년부터는 콜 오브 듀티는 저도 패스하는 게임이 될지도 모르겠네요. 레인보우 식스 시즈는 베타 테스트 때 아직 한참 다듬어야 하는 게임 같다고 생각했었는데요. 정식 발매는 맵과 오퍼레이터가 추가된 걸 빼면 바뀐 게 있나 싶네요. 유비소프트가 이 프랜차이즈를 살리기 위해서 DLC 컨텐츠를 무료로 얻을 수 있게 하는 등의 정책을 깔고 있습니다만, 영 성에 차지 않더군요. 그리고 앞서 제가 거치형 콘솔로는 게임을 즐기지 않는다고 말했는데요. 올해만큼은 예외로 PS4로 즐긴 게임은 있네요. 배트맨 아캄 나이트가 그 주인공입니다. 발매 초의 PC판은 발매가 중지될 정도로 심각한 문제가 있어서 예약 구매조차 하지 않았던 제가 택한 방법은 아캄 나이트를 잠시 빌린 PS4로 후딱 엔딩을 보고 돌려주는 방법 뿐이었거든요. 거기다가 작품의 완성도 면에서 크게 불만족스러워서 기분 나쁜 일로 기억에 남을 것 같네요. 그것도 아캄 시리즈를 마무리하는 최종작이 그 모양이었고요. 여담으로 게임 업계의 대형 시상식 중 하나인 더 게임즈 어워드에서 어드벤쳐 장르로 유명한 텔테일 게임즈가 새로운 배트맨 게임을 발표했는데 텔테일 게임즈도 최근 엄청나게 다작을 하면서 각각의 게임의 완성도에서 비판 받고 있어서 좀 불안하더군요. 또 만족스럽지 않은 배트맨 게임이 만들어질지 걱정도 조금 되네요. 이어서 아캄 나이트만큼이나 논란이 많았던 게임은 메탈 기어 솔리드 V였죠. 코나미의 행동이 게임을 망친 건 분명합니다. 발매 후에는 FOB를 유료화의 수단으로 써먹으면서 게임의 완성도를 더욱 낮추고 말았습니다. 이건 도를 한참 넘었네요. 거기다가 이유가 뭐든 간에, 메탈 기어 솔리드 V의 완성도는 다른 유저들에게 추천할 수 없을 정도로 엉망입니다. 게임을 즐긴지 한참 된 지금 시점에서 다시 생각해보면 만일 그냥 게임이 아무 이유 없이 이렇게 나왔으면 온갖 욕을 얻어먹었을 것 같다는 생각 밖에 안 들어요. 그래서 모든 전투가 내내 재미있었던 게임인데, 다시 플레이해고픈 생각이 전혀 안 들기도 하네요. 스타크래프트 2: 공허의 유산은 1부터 이어진 이야기를 마무리 짓는 확장팩이었는데요. 캠페인과 협동전까지 즐겨보니 만족스럽긴 했습니다. 그런데 공허의 유산조차 자유의 날개가 얼마나 대단한지 알려주는 근거에 불과하지 않았나 싶네요. 공허의 유산을 즐겨본 후에 다시 자유의 날개 캠페인을 즐겨봤는데 완성도 면에서는 앞으로 이런 RTS 캠페인이 나올 수 있을까 싶어요. 마지막으로 올해 가장 좋았던 작품을 이야기해야겠네요. 위쳐 3였습니다. 작년에는 드래곤 에이지: 인퀴지션을 재미있게 즐겼는데, 올해도 좋은 RPG를 만날 수 있어서 좋았네요. 특히 위쳐 3는 정식으로 한국어로 번역되서 출시되었고, 발매 초의 적극적인 패치로 쾌적하게 게임을 즐길 수 있어서 더욱 좋았네요. 그리고 이후 발매된 확장팩 하츠 오브 스톤도 요즘 범람하는 DLC에 비하면 저렴한 가격과 높은 완성도를 보여줘서 정말 좋았습니다. 그나마 단점을 뽑자면 중반부터 긴장감이 사라지는 난이도 하락과 밸런싱 문제 정도인데, 후자는 거기서 자유로운 작품 자체가 없어서 크게 문제 삼을 필요는 없겠고, 전자가 많이 아쉽더군요. 패치는 정말 많이 했는데 그래도 크게 못 고쳤다고 보거든요. 그 외에도 여러 게임을 해보긴 했습니다만, 당장 기억에 남는 게임은 이 정도네요. 그리고 개인적으로 유독 2015년에 즐긴 게임이 다른 해보다 적기도 했고요. 요즘은 게임 불감증까진 아니더라도 딱히 플레이하고 있는 게임도 없네요. 2016년에도 재미있는 작품이 더 나왔으면 좋겠습니다.
