[전 최대한 스포일러를 피할 생각입니다. 댓글을 다시는 분들도 최대한 스포일러를 피해주시면 좋겠습니다.] 일단 시작하기 앞서서 저는 PC판으로만 게임을 즐기는 편입니다. 그런데 아캄 나이트는 현재 판매까지 중지된 상황이라서 전 PC판으로 즐길 방법 자체가 없더군요. 그래서 아캄 나이트는 빌린 PS4로 즐겼습니다. 그러니 더 말하기도 싫은 PC판 문제는 언급하지 않을 겁니다. 그리고 빌려서 하다 보니, 상대적으로 부가 임무는 집중적으로 플레이하진 못했습니다. 첫 인상은 굉장했습니다. 여태까지도 계속 고담 시를 배경으로 했습니다만, 분위기에 압도 당하는 느낌은 아캄 나이트가 처음이었습니다. 특히 아캄 나이트도 전작들처럼 인파가 거의 없는 텅 빈 도심지가 배경인데도 부족함이 느껴지지 않습니다. 이 점에서 아캄 나이트는 눈요기로는 충분한 게임입니다. 그리고 기본적인 틀도 크게 달라지지 않습니다. 시원한 격투전은 아캄 나이트에서도 여전히 볼 수 있습니다. 물론 더 발전한 구석도 많고요. 그런데 문제는 이 재미있는 격투전만 계속 즐길 수 없게 되었습니다. 배트모빌이 만일 사람이었다면 게임 제목을 바꿔야 했을 겁니다. '배트맨 앤 배트모빌: 아캄 나이트'로요. 게임 내에서 배트모빌과 비슷한 비중을 가진 캐릭터는 주인공인 배트맨 밖에 없습니다. 물론 높은 비중 자체는 문제로만 볼 수 없을 겁니다. 그런데 배트모빌이 가지는 가장 큰 문제점은 전반적인 경험을 망친다는 점입니다. 첫번째 단점은 수많은 캐릭터의 개성을 희석시킨다는 점입니다. 특히 전작 아캄 오리진에서 큰 틀을 해치지 않는 선에서 배트맨의 또다른 정체성인 탐정을 강조한 것에 비해서, 배트모빌과 배트맨은 게임을 플레이하면서 동일시되지 않습니다. 배트모빌은 배트모빌이지, 플레이하면서 이게 배트맨이다란 생각은 들지 않아요. 그러니 하다 보면 빨리 배트맨으로 플레이하고 싶다란 생각마저 들게 만듭니다. 두번째로 배트모빌의 활용 자체가 게임 내내 반복적입니다. 중반부만 넘어서도 그렇습니다. 물론 전작에서도 전투 자체야 반복적인 부분도 있었습니다만, 배트맨에게 주어진 많은 장비와 다양한 레벨 디자인을 통해서 충분히 극복했던 부분입니다. 그런데 배트모빌의 전투는 그냥 다 똑같습니다. 3인칭 슈터에서 벗어나질 않거든요. 그래서 저에게 추가점인 배트모빌은 게임의 완성도를 낮추는 요소였습니다. 그리고 배트맨만큼이나 중요한 건 배트맨과 맞서는 악당들이죠. 매력적인 캐릭터들이 잔뜩 나오니까요. 그런데 이 부분도 전 별로인 부분이 많았습니다. 우선 아캄 나이트는 게임의 제목이기까지 한데 실망스럽습니다. 다른 캐릭터에게 종속되서 끌려다닐 지경이니까요. 오히려 다른 악당 캐릭터들이 훨씬 매력적입니다. 물론 변명의 여지는 있는데, 앞서 언급한 배트모빌의 악영향도 있기 때문이기도 합니다. 스포일러를 피하는 선에서 더 이야기하자면 사실 이건 아캄 나이트만 해당되는 것도 아니기도 하고요. 또 시리즈의 마지막인데 악당 중 일부만이 훌륭한 묘사를 보여줍니다. 그 외에는 대충 넘겼다 싶은 느낌이더군요. 이 또한 프리퀄이었던 아캄 오리진에서 수많은 악당 캐릭터 하나하나에게 멋진 장면을 선사했던 것에 비하면 단점이었네요. 그 중에서도 첫 트레일러에서부터 비중 있게 등장한 투 페이스나 펭귄도 마찬가지라서 더욱 불만이었고요. 물론 그렇지 않은 캐릭터들은 정말 매력적으로 등장합니다. 마지막으로 리들러 챌린지에 대해서도 언급할 필요가 있습니다. 게임 내에서 리들러 챌린지는 그냥 좀 더 오래 즐기기 위한 수단 중 하나에 불과했습니다. 엔딩을 보는 데까지 아예 리들러 챌린지는 신경 쓰지 않아도 되었고요. 그런데 왜 아캄 나이트에선 리들러 챌린지를 강제로 하게 만들었는지 이해할 수 없습니다. 아캄 나이트에선 리들러 챌린지를 모두 끝내야만 숨겨진 엔딩이 나오거든요. 리들러가 여타 캐릭터들처럼 게임의 핵심을 파고드는 비중을 가진 것도 아니고, 심지어 리들러 챌린지가 재미있는 것도 아닙니다. 개인적으로는 재미없는 퍼즐 게임이고요. 전 제가 엔딩을 보고 나서 멀티 엔딩이란 걸 알고 짜증이 나더군요. 특히 수많은 게임이 오픈 월드를 선보이면서 결코 부가적인 컨텐츠가 게임을 잠식하지 않도록 하는 편인데, 오히려 아캄 나이트는 그 반대가 되었습니다. 개인적으로 아캄 나이트를 즐겁게 플레이했습니다만, 이게 시리즈의 훌륭한 마무리란 생각은 전혀 들지 않습니다. 그게 PC판 사태 때문이 아니라, 게임의 완성도가 별로라서 그렇고요. 특히 배트모빌은 출시 전 리뷰에서 비중 있게 비판한 리뷰가 왜 그랬는지 이해될 정도였네요. 오히려 이런 시도는 외전이었던 아캄 오리진이 보여주여야 했고, 시리즈의 마무리는 큰 변화가 없는 편이 낫지 않았을까 싶었습니다. 또한 이야기에 있어서는 만족스럽습니다만, 유저에 따라서 충분히 단점으로 지목할 수 있겠구나 싶네요. ............................................... Ps4에 워낙 할만한 게임이 적다보니... 이런거 저런거 빼면 손가락 빨아야되서요
그리고 앤딩을 저런식으로 나누는거 정말 싫어하는 시스템입니다
가뜩히나 나이들면서 2회차는 손도 안대는데 말이죠
