A1 - 선수들이 서있는 걸 가로로 선을 쫙쫙 그어서 결정한다! Q2 - 선이 보인다 치자, 어디가 좋은 땅인교? A2 - 최고로 좋은 땅은 상대편 키퍼랑 최종 수비수 사이의 땅이고, 그담은 상대 수비수랑 미드필더 사이, 상대 미드필더랑 공격수 사이, 이런식으로 선 사이사이의 땅이 좋은것이라 합니더 결론: 볼을 좋은 땅으로 전진 시키기 위해서는 가로선을 상대보다 많이 만들면 편하고 좋다 <2편 중요 포인트> 대전제: 추꾸에서는 옆으로도 뛸수있다! 1편이랑 똑같은 개념이죠, 대신 앞뒤로 말구 양옆으로. 사람이란게 앞으로 못가면 돌아가는 법도 알아야하는거 아니겠습니까? 이건 선수들이 만드는 세로선을 중심으로 이해한다! 결론: 자 이제 추꾸 포메이션을 가로선 + 세로선의 대결로 이해할수있습니다. 자, 그리고 2편 마지막에 몇가지 질문은 던졌습니다. 은근히 댓글에 이야기가 오가길 바랬지만, 다들 문제가 너무 쉬웠는지 신경을 안쓰시더군요. 자 질문도 복습시간! 1. 아니 그럼 (선의 수가 적은) 4-4-2는 4-2-3-1을 상대로 강점이 없는 것일까요? 2. 축구전술을 이야기하며 3백 이야기는 하나도 안하다니... 가로선과 세로선을 기준으로 생각했을때 3백 포메이션들은 4백에 비해 어떠한 차이점이 있을까요? 3. 첫글에서는 가로선 (1차원), 둘째글에서는 +세로선 (2차원), 그렇다면 세번째글의 주제는‽ 저 3질문의 답에 공통적으로 포함되어야 좋은 주제가 한가지있습니다. 바로 [선수들의 움직임]이죠. 1, 2 편을 통해 우리는 축구장을 체스판이나 장기판 처럼 분류하여 보는 법을 연습해보았습니다. 혹시나 푸스볼을 아시는 분들은 푸스볼을 생각하셔도 됩니다. 다만 축구가 체스나 장기, 푸스볼과 다른 부분은 선수들의 움직임이 훨씬 더 자유롭다는데에 있습니다. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3P2NHJlnVw 국내의 해외축구팬들에게 레전드 오브 레전드로 꼽히는 경기입니다. 2011년 챔피언스리그 맨유와 첼시의 2차전 경기이죠. 이 경기에서 (표면상) 맨유는 4-4-2로 첼시는 4-3-3으로 경기를 하였습니다. 4-3-3은 디테일적인 면에서는 다르지만 4-2-3-1과 마찬가지로, 중원에 선을 더 많이 만들어서 4-4-2에 비해 중원장악을 더 용이하게 하려는 의도가 주가되는 전술입니다. 우리가 지금까지 배운 바를 복기해본다면 이러한 대결은 전술적으로 선을 더 많이 만든 첼시가 맨유를 주도해야하는 경기입니다. 하지만 경기결과도 그렇고, 경기내용도 우리가 배운 내용과는 좀 다르죠. 왜 그럴까요? 제가 지금까지 회원 여러분께 거짓말을 한것일까요? (MB짤) 아니요 우리는 그저 아직 축구 전술을 이해할 하나의 중요축을 더 이해할 시간이 왔을뿐입니다 움직임, 시간이 흐름에 따라 선수들은 당연하게 이동한다는 사실입니다 1편에서 가로선을 이해함으로서 1차원의 축구를 이해했고 2편에서 세로선을 더함으로서 2차원의 축구를 이해했으니 이제 3편에서 시간을 더함으로서 드디어 4차원의 축구를 이해하시면 되는겁니다!  본인의 50개가 넘는 트로피 중 (-_-) 하나를 들고있는 알렉스 퍼거슨 경 (본격 맨빠 글을 시작합니다) 잠시 4-4-2 포메이션이 왜 4-2-3-1 또는 4-3-3에 비해 불리한지 복습해보죠. 중요한건 중원에서 선을 얼마나 많이, 용이하게 만들수있냐입니다. 4-4-2는 중원에 두명의 미드필더가 일직선(ㅇ-ㅇ) 형태로 기용되어 가로선 하나, 세로선 두개를 만듭니다. 반면, 4-3-3은 세명의 미드필더가 삼각형역삼각형 (∴) 형태로 기용, 가로선 두개, 세로선 3개를 만듭니다. 어떠한 전술적 목표를 지니고 경기에 임하던 4-4-2가 중원에서 열세인건 정말로 힘든 상황입니다 아주 간단한 숫자의 문제입니다, 선수 둘로는 상대의 삼인 미드필드를 대적할 방법이 없어요. 무리뉴가 첼시에 데뷔해서는 바로 저 말을했죠. "너네 (잉글랜드팀들) 다 4-4-2만 쓰는데, 그럼 내가 4-3-3으로 미드필더 한명 추가하면 죽었다 깨어나도 나 못이긴다." 그리고서는 실제로 04/05시즌 29승 8무 1패에 단 15실점!! 25경기 무실점!!!!이라는 경악스러운 지배력을 보여줍니다. 혹시나 축구 숫자에 익숙하지 않으신분들을 위해서 기준을 제공하자면 대충 경기당 승점이 1점대 아래면 좋은 수비라는 평가를 받고, 25실점 정도하면 역대급 수비에 우승에 적합한 팀으로 평가를 받습니다. 38경기 15실점은... 인간의 경지가 아닙니다. 게임에서도 힘들어요. 스폐셜 원한테 거하게 얻어터진 퍼거슨의 맨유 또한 4-4-2가 주력 포메이션이였고, 그 다음 시즌부터 바로 방법을 찾기 시작했습니다. 퍼거슨이 처음 들고 나온 해법은 아주 단순했습니다. "하놔, 쟤네 미드필드는 답 없다. 야 그냥 중원은 생략하자, 뻥축구 ㄲㄲ" 미드필드에 선이 많으면 뭐해요, 미드필드에 볼이 안가는데... 축구전술 중, 언제나 가장 단순하고, 가장 직관적인 해법입니다. 잘 모르겠으니까, 일단 그냥 전방으로 보내 (혹은 복잡한거 훈련할 시간 없으니까) 전술이 어떻든, 기술이 어떻든, 단숨에 상대방 박스 쪽에서 덩치큰 애가 어떻게든 세컨볼 만들어주면서 세컨볼 노리는 진흙탕 50/50 확률 싸움으로 가겠다는거죠. 실제로 맨유는 05/06시즌 첼시와의 리그 1차전에서 이 전략으로 플레쳐가 행운에 가까운 헤딩골을 어영부영 넣으며 원정에서 첼시를 잡습니다. 경기 끝나고 퍼거슨 감독이 실제로 "다른 EPL팀들도 우리 보고 첼시 상대법에 대한 힌트를 얻었을것이다"라고 했었죠 ㅋㅋ 하지만 사실 저런 롱볼 축구는 장기적인 해법이 되지는 못합니다. 간단한 이유와 복잡한 이유가있죠. 간단한 이유는, 뻥축구는 로우 프라버빌리티 축구입니다. 패스는 길면 길수록 정확도가 떨어져요. 공을 차는 선수도 정확하게 보내기도 점점 힘들어지고, 공의 체공시간이 기니까 상대방도 준비하기가 쉽죠. 거기다 상대 키퍼랑 수비수들이 우리 공격수보다 키도 등치도 크다면? 노답... 조금 더 복잡한 이유로는 축구전술이 발전하면서 볼을 쉽게 내주는 축구를 정말 무자비하게 징벌하는 전술이 보편화되었다는겁니다. 이 전술적 변화의 시작을 세계최고의 무대에서 보여준게 바로 펩 과르디올라였구요. 롱볼은 필연적으로 패스의 수가 적고, 우리가 볼을 잡고있는 시간이 적습니다. 이전에는 근데 상대도 볼을 제대로 간수하고 움직이는 전술적 움직임이 발전을 안했어서 별로 상관 없었어요. 패스 플레이 좋아하는 팀이라해도 한 열번 패스하다가는 슛 때리거나, 실수하거나 그랬거든요. 근데 펩 바르샤가 나오더니, 필요하면 한번에 패스 몇십번씩하면서 분단위로 볼을 소유하기 시작했죠. 이게 보편화되면 정말 확실해진건 "볼을 의미 없이 상대에게 주면, 이젠 진짜로 우리 죽을때까지 볼한번도 못 만질수도있다" 상대가 이런게 가능하면 무작정 볼잡으면 길게 때리는 전술을 주전술로 사용할수 없어요. 50% 확률로 상대에게 볼을 준다는것 자체가 전술적 자살행위가 되었거든요. 결국에 퍼거슨은 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 새로운 해법을 들고 나옵니다. 개념적으로 퍼거슨의 해법은 아주 간단합니다. ["우리가 중앙에 선수가 모잘란거자나, 그럼 선수 더 넣어!"] 근데 아무리 퍼거슨이라도 한경기에 12명 뛰게 만들수는 없자나요? 중앙에 선수가 들어가면 공격이든 수비든 사이드든 한명을 빼서 옮겨야되요. 근데 퍼거슨은 그건 또 싫었던것 같습니다. 그래서 아주 훌륭한 해결책을 제시했죠 ["야, 너, 더 뛰어!"]  무식해서 추꾸 못하는 나니를 이끄는 캡틴팍, 그리고 이 모습을 흐믓하게 바라보는 룬희 중요한건, 아무나, 아무렇게나 더 뛰는게 아니였다는거죠. 맨유 4-4-2에서 중원의 문제를 해결하기 위해 더 뛰라는 특명을 받은 선수는 공격수 루니와, 윙어 박지성이였습니다. 이 두선수의 특징은 단순히 다양한 포지션을 소화할수있는 능력이 아닙니다. 그런 선수들은 되게 많았고, 사실 톱클래스에서 뛰려면 모든 선수들이 지니고있는 능력입니다. 다만 대부분의 선수들은 선 한개를 넘나드는 플레이를 보여줍니다. 골키퍼를 하면서 스위퍼를 겸한다던가 중앙 수비를 보면서 수비형 미드필더의 역할을 겸한다던가 윙어면서 공격수를 겸한다던가 공격수면서 공격형 미드필더를 겸한다던가 하지만, 맨유에서 루니와 박지성의 특징은 두선을 넘나드는 플레이를 한다는 것이였죠. 3선 중앙 미드필더로서의 기능을 하다 언제든지 1선 공격수로서 뛰어나가 공격하는 지옥의 체력훈련을 90분 내내 유지할수있는, 스피드, 체력, 전술적 이해능력을 지니고있는 선수들이라는 것입니다. 이는 단순히 이 선수들의 능력뿐만 아니라, 이걸 이해하고 커리어내내 저런 비상식적인 플레이가 가능하게 팀을 맞춘 퍼거슨의 능력도 같이 칭찬해야되는 부분입니다. 루니는 경기 중 상시로 케릭, 스콜스, 긱스와 같이 중앙미드필더들의 지역까지 후퇴하여 중원에서 3대3으로 숫자와 선을 맞춰주고 볼이 중원에서 전개되어 나가면 순식간에 본인의 본 직장인 최전방까지 다시 뛰어나가 공격진형에서도 숫자를 다시 맞추는 특별한 선수였습니다. 종적으로 언제든지 필드에서 맨유가 선수가 부족할일이 없도록 뛰면서 지속적으로 선을 만들어 주는거죠. 박지성 선수는 횡적으로 선을 추가시켜주며 루니를 보조하는 역할이라고 보시면됩니다. 윙어가 경기중 상시로 중앙미드필더 옆에 서서 미드필드 싸움하다가, 상대 풀백이 공격나오면 순식간에 사이드로 뛰어 나가서 풀백 막고, 그렇게 볼 뺏으면 다시 최전방까지 공격하러 전력질주하는 모습. 맨유의 박지성 선수 커리어내내 모든 전문가들과 팬들을 숱하게 감동시킨 플레이죠. 단순히 믿기지 않게 많이 뛰어서 평가가 높았던게 아닙니다 (말도 안되게 뛰는거기는해요, 무슨 축구선수가 무산소 운동을 저렇게 연속적으로 오래하냐) 루니와 박지성 선수의 뜀박질에는 아주 중요한 전술적 목표가있었고, 그 둘은 자신들이 뛴 거의 모든 경기에서 저 역할을 해내었습니다. 그 목표가 3선을 넘나들며 뛰라는 비상식적인 요구이였음에도 불구하고 말이죠. 퍼거슨 커리어 말기에 루니가 신임을 잃기 시작했던것도 퍼거슨이 루니가 신체적, 멘탈적 이유로 저런 플레이가 예전 처럼 나오지 않자 내린 결정이였죠.  이때 루니로 평생 남아있지 그랬냐... 박지성 선수의 평가에 있어서 흔히 언급되는게 "빅 게임" 플레이어라는 것입니다. 박지성 선수가 강팀과의 경기에서 더 잘하는건 박지성 선수의 강한 멘탈리티도있지만, 박지성 선수의 저러한 전술적 특성 또한 아주 중요한 요인입니다. 상대가 우리보다 객관적으로 못할때는 선의 구성에 신경을 덜 쓰고 그냥 선수의 개인능력으로 상대를 돌파하고 격파하는 것이 가능합니다. 우리 미드필더는 둘 밖에 없고, 상대는 셋이여도, 상대 세명의 간격조절을 잘 못한다면 그러면 케릭이나 스콜스와 같은 클라스의 선수들은 그냥 그 사이로 단숨에 패스를 넣어줄수있는 능력이 되는 선수들입니다. 그러면 그냥 호날두나 나니나 루니 처럼 수비수를 일대일에서 압도하는 개인능력을 지닌 공격수들이 상대를 유린하면 되는거고요. 이런 경기에서는 경기의 템포가 높아지기 마련이고 개인기가 뛰어난 선수들이 당연히 활약하기 좋은 환경이죠. 아시아에서는 물론, 월드컵 하위권 팀들 상대로도 차고 넘쳤지만, EPL이나 챔피언스리그에서 박지성 선수는 저 정도 개인기를 지닌 선수는 아니죠. 다만 상대가 우리와 체급이 비슷하거나 높을때는 저런 플레이가 안되죠. 상대 미드필더들 틈 사이로 우리가 패스를 넣기는 커녕, 우리가 볼잡기도 힘들게 압박이 들어오고 상대 수비수 클라스도 높기 때문에 아무리 호날두라도 일대일에서 절대우위를 장담하기가 힘듭니다 (예:애쉴리콜) 이럴때 전술적으로 선을 잘 구성하여 침착하게 상대의 선을 뭉게뜨리는 플레이가 중요해지는겁니다. 그리고 그 작은 틈이 만들어졌을때 그 헛점을 상대가 매꾸기 전에 빠르게 타격하는 순간적인 템포 체인지가 중요합니다. 그리고 박지성 선수는 이 부문에서 정말 뛰어난 능력을 지니고있던 선수입니다. 박지성 선수가 활약한 경기는 언제나 강력한 중원을 지니고있는 상대와의 경기였습니다. 당시 전세계에서 가장 빡빡한 중원이라 평가받던 첼시 EPL에서 가장 유연하고 기술적인 중원싸움을 하던 아스날 첼시와는 반대로 전세계에서 가장 빡빡한 중원의 바르셀로나와를 상대로 박지성 선수가 언제나 제몫을했죠. 당시 맨유의 중원은 이런 팀들을 상대로 정면승부에서는 이길수 없는 구성이였거든요. 하지만 박지성과 루니가 뛰어다니기 시작하면 저게 보완되는죠. 그렇습니다. 축구전술을 이해하기 위해 마지막으로 추가되어야하는 피스는 1편에서 시작한 의문으로 돌아옵니다. 너 왜 뛰는거냐? --좋은 공간을 점유하기(선을 만들기 위해) 위해 뜁니다 좋은 공간이 어디냐? --상대선수들의 선과 선 사이입니다 어떻게하든 모든 곳에 선을 만들순 없자나? --그러니 뛰어야죠 이를 위해 어제도 오늘도 내일도 선수들은 뛰고 코칭 스태프는 바둑돌을 보며 머리를 감싸 쥐는거죠 우리는 끊임없이 손가락질하고 환호하고 눈물흘리고 욕하는거고요 ㅎㅎ 이로서 기존에 생각한 3가지 개념은 다 다루었습니다. 이 3부작은 티비로 보는 사람에게 축구의 전술을 구성하는 가장 기본적인 개념은 무엇인가? 라는 질문을 답하기 위해 시작된것이였습니다 전 그 답을: [선수들의 위치가 지니는 의미]를 이해하는 것이라고 생각합니다. 그리고 그 위치를 정의하기 위해서는 기준점이 필요하고, 그 기준점이 "선"이라는 개념인거죠. 1,2편은 그 선이 무엇인지를 이야기하고 싶었고 3편에서는 축구는 실시간 끊임없이 뛰댕기는 스포츠라는 것이 이 "선"의 의미를 어떻게 진화시키는지 이야기하고 싶었습니다 (그냐야 덕밍아웃이기도...) 언제나와 마찬가지로 글을 읽어주셔 감사합니다. 더 해야할것 같은 주제가 몇가지있는데 글의 흐름상 어떻게 끼워 넣어야할지 잘 모르겠어서 못넣었어요. 다른 유저분들이 관심이있다면 어덯게 짱구를 굴려 써보도록하겠습니다 (글 쓰고 싶으니 관심좀...) 감사합니다!!
