  사진을 찍다보면 밤이 얼마나 무서운 것인지를 깨닫게 됩니다. 저조도상황이란, 언제나 수많은 카메라메이커들에게는 극복의 대상이었고, 그럼에도 아직도 정복하지 못한, 매우 까다로운 상황이 아닐수가 없죠. 그러면서도 깨끗한 야경사진을 찍고싶다는 생각은, 카메라를 손에 들고 나면 항상 드는 것 같습니다. 2. 야경사진의 기초 (1) 준비물 : 삼각대와 릴리즈 1) 삼각대 밑에서 설명하겠지만, 야경사진을 찍기 위해서는 셔터스피드를 길게 가져가기 때문에 카메라를 세워 둘 삼각대가 필요합니다. 예제에 나온 두 사진은 모두 삼각대 없이 찍은 사진이기는 하지만, 삼각대역할을 할 수 있는 창틀과 난간에 카메라를 고정한 다음에 찍었습니다 2) 릴리즈 릴리즈는 간단히 말해 셔터를 대신해주는 리모콘입니다. 유선도 있고 무선도 있는데 카메라에 연결해서 버튼을 누르면 셔터가 찍히는 도구인데요. 가격도 얼마 안하고, 사놓고 있으면 여러모로 도움이 되니 호환 릴리즈를 하나 구해보시는 것도 좋을 것입니다. 릴리즈를 사용하는 목적은 셔터를 누르는 순간에 오는 진동을 최소화시키기 위해서 사용합니다. 물론 릴리즈가 없다면, 타이머설정을 통해 셔터를 누름으로 인한 흔들림이 지나간 후에 찍히게 하는 방법도 무방하나, 조금 불편합니다. 3)손떨림방지 : OFF 손떨림방지기능은 미세하게 렌즈나 센서를 진동시키면서 떨림을 방지하는 기능인데, 이미 멈춰있는 삼각대에 셋팅한 이상, 장노출 야경사진에 방해가 될 뿐입니다. 과감히 꺼줍시다! (2) 셔터스피드는 길게, 조리개값은 크게, 감도는 낮게 1) 조리개 야경사진에 알맞는 조리개 수치는 상황에 따라 다르지만 일반적으로 조리개는 조여주는 것이 좋습니다. 예제사진의 경우 저는 F16까지 조여주기는 했지만 일반적으로 F4.5 ~ F11 까지 조여줍니다. 조리개를 조일수록 사진과 같은 빛갈라짐(조리개 날의 모양에 따른 빛의 모양)이 날카롭게 나타나고, 밤이라 초점잡기가 힘들기 때문에 팬포커스로 골고루 초점이 잡히도록 착란원의 크기를 최소화시켜주는 역할을 합니다. 단 조리개 수치를 너무 많이 조이면 간섭현상으로 인해 화질이 저하되는 현상이 발생하고 셔터스피드가 지나치게 길어지면 예제사진처럼 센서에 장노출로 인한 노이즈가 생길 수 있기 때문에(예제사진을 보면 어두운 부분(암부)에 입자감이 보입니다ㅠㅠ) 적당한 수치의 조리개값을 찾아주도록 합시다. 2) 셔터스피드 셔터스피드의 경우, 당연히 조리개를 조여줬기 때문에 길게 가져갈 수 밖에 없습니다. A(Av)모드에서 조리개를 조여주면 알아서 셔터스피드가 바뀌기기도 하지만 그보다는 M모드에 두고 셔터스피드도 적당한 값을 본인이 찾아주는 것이 좀 더 좋습니다. 셔터스피드를 길게 가져갈 경우 움직이는 광원(자동차 등)의 궤적을 얻기 쉽고, 또 장노출로 인한 강렬한 빛의 인상을 담을 수 있습니다. 3) 감도 노이즈를 방지하고 쨍한 사진을 얻기 위해서는 감도를 낮게 가져가야 합니다. (3) 사전에 시정정보는 확인하는 것이 좋습니다. 기상청홈페이지에 가보면 시정정보가 뜹니다. 시정(視程, visibillity)란, 얼마나 멀리까지 볼 수 있는지를 알려주는 지표인데, 15km면 좋은 편이고 20km 정도면 대기의 질이 무척 좋기 때문에 환상적인 사진을 찍기 좋습니다. 사진을 찍는 포인트가 높을수록 시정은 더 중요합니다. 산>고층빌딩>빌딩>지상의 순서로 시정이 나쁠수록 찍기 어렵습니다. 아주 작은 먼지인 헤이즈가 높을수록 더 잘 관측되기 때문이죠(미세먼지 ㅠㅠ) 만약 바람이 많이 부는 날이라면, 웬만한 삼각대로는 버티기 힘들 수도 있기 때문에 풍속도 함께 염두에 두고 가면 좋습니다. (4) 촬영시간대 촬영시간대는 일몰 전후의 30분전인 소위 "매직 아워"에 찍으면 상당히 아름다운 사진을 찍을 수 있습니다. (5) 화이트밸런스 조정을 통한 야경 색감의 변화 예제와 같은 완전야경사진의 경우에는 오토로 설정해두어도 눈에 보이는 것과 같은 사진을 얻을 수 있으나, 일몰전후의 매직아워 야경의 경우에는 하늘의 붉은 빛이 제대로 표현되지 않는 경우가 있을 수 있습니다. 이와 같은 경우에는 화이트밸런스를 "텅스텐"이나 "태양광"에 맞추면 하늘의 색감을 잘 표현할 수 있습니다. 3. 나가며 사실 저는 밤에 나가는 걸 매우 귀찮아하는 성격이라 야경찍는 건 선호하지는 않습니다. 찍고 싶은 생각만 있을 뿐 ㅎㅎㅎ그래서 야경사진 샘플이 별로 없습니다. 본가에 있는 외장하드에 있어서 지금 구할 수 있는 야경사진 샘플이 영 상태가 좋지 않네요 ㅠㅠ 그래도 야경은 많은 사람들이 한번쯤 찍고 싶어하는 주제기도 해서 오늘도 몇 자 써 봤습니다. 조금 번거로운 사진이지만 찍었을 때 만족감은 꽤 큰 사진이니, 다들 한번씩 꼭 찍어보시기를 바랍니다!
