안녕하세요 *alchemist*입니다. 여름입니다. 올해는 특히 참 덥네요. 확실히 더위는 온도 보다는 습도에 달려 있다는 게 한국 돌아와보니 확실하게 느껴집니다.. 출근하는 그 짧은 시간에도 등에 땀이 주루룩 맺히고 사무실 들어가면 회사분들은 아침부터 뭘 했길래 이렇게 땀이 많이 나냐고 물어보시네요. 저는 그냥 지하철 타고 출근해서 역에서 회사까지 얼마 안되는 거리를 잠시 걸어왔을 뿐인데 말이지요.. ^^; 땀 나는 게 싫어서 살을 무지막지하게 빼버렸는데도 여전하네요…; 아무래도 한의원을 가든 병원을 가든 해서 좀 고쳐야 할 듯 합니다.. 10분 밖에 서 있으면 등이 홀딱 젖어버리네요. 아무튼 이런 더운 날임에도 불구하고 최근에는 잔잔한 노래들을 많이 듣고 있습니다. 가끔 운동할 때나 아침에 활력이 필요할 때는 걸그룹(!) 타이틀들만 쭉 모아서 듣곤 합니다만 집에 와서 또는 퇴근하면서 또는 혼자 있으면서 또는 피곤할때는 차분한 노래들 틀어놓고 듣게 되네요.. 예전에는 계절따라 노래 바꿔가면서 들어댔는데 요새는 제가 좋다고 느끼는 노래들을 쭉 그것만 반복해서 듣게 되네요. 지난번에 보너스로 소개…라기엔 너무 유명한 백예린 양의 ‘우주를 건너’는 진짜 한달동안 줄창 들었습니다. 그래서 오늘은.. 그렇게 한참을 꽂혀서 듣던 노래들만 소개를 하려고 하다가 최근에 꽂혀서 들은 곡이 ‘우주를 건너’ 포함해서 3곡밖에(!) 없더라구요.. 3곡을 7월 중순부터 돌려대고 있어서.. 너무 부족한 것 같아 소개해드릴려고 마음 먹은 노래 외에 소개해 드린 적은 없지만 최근 괜찮다고 생각하는 곡들까지 포함해서 소개를 하고자 합니다. 더워서 분위기는 안 맞을수도 있는데.. 들어보시고 좋다고 생각하시는 분들은 즐겁게 들어보시면 좋을 것 같습니다. [#01. 신설희 - 묻고 싶어] 날짜는 정확하게 기억안나는데 어느 월요일이었을겁니다. 그 날 따라 너무 스트레스가 심해서 SNS에 글을 하나 써놨더니 절친이 대뜸 저녁 먹으면서 술 한잔 하자고 하더라구요. 워낙 친하게 지내고 오래 본 친구라 당장 콜하고 저녁에 만나서 술한잔 먹고 오랫만에 같이 그 친구 집에 가서 놀았습니다. 평소에는 그렇게 집에서 놀면 게임방송 켜놓고 놀고 그러는데 그날따라 왠지 그러고 싶지 않아서 음악이나 듣자고 했습니다. 그 친구, 글을 통해서도 몇 번 소개드린 적 있는 음악하는 친구입니다. 그렇게 그 친구 집에서 음악 들으며 놀다가 최근 알게 된 좋은 노래라며 신설희 씨의 노래를 소개 받게 되었습니다. 정식 1집 앨범인 ‘Hills of Time’의 타이틀은 ‘왼쪽 오른쪽’이라는 곡인데 솔직히 이 곡은.. 좋기는 한데 대중성을 완전 놓을 수는 없어서 만든 것 같은 그런 고민이 보이는 곡이었습니다. 사실 신설희 씨는 지금 소개 드리는 ‘묻고 싶어’ 같은 잔잔한 종류의 곡들이 훨씬 많고 그런 곡들이 개인적으로는 훨씬 좋습니다. 앨범 전체를 들어보면 이런 식으로 확 터질 듯 터질 듯 확 터지지는 않으면서 사람의 애간장을 태우고 녹게 만드는 그런 곡들이 대부분입니다. 처음에는 그 터지지 않을 것 같은 부분이 조금은 안타깝기도 했었는데(확 터뜨리면 멜로디가 더 좋게 느껴질 것 같았거든요) 최근에는 이렇게 넘을 듯 넘을 듯 넘지 않는 그 애절함과 절제가 더 마음에 듭니다. ‘묻고 싶어’라는 이 곡은 이 앨범 전체에서 제가 제일 좋아하는 방식으로 편곡이 된 곡이라 참 마음에 듭니다. 어떤 점이 마음에 드냐고 물어보신다면… 기타 소리나 드럼 소리가.. 예전 브리티시 인베이젼 시절의 우울한 영국 기타팝이나 기타락같은 느낌이 든다고 해야 할까요? 화성학이고 뭐고 지식이 없어서 정확하게는 설명을 못하겠습니다만 제가 참 좋아하는 분위기라는 점만은 말씀 드릴 수 있겠네요 ^^; 아무래도 평론가들 글 같은 거 보면서 어떻게 이런거 설명할지 연구를 좀 해봐야 하려나 봅니다 oTL 이렇게 표현력이 떨어져서는 곡 소개 하는건지 안티짓인건지.. ㅠㅠ 아무튼 타이틀인 ‘왼쪽 오른쪽’외에는 이런 류의 잔잔하고 편안하기 그지 없는 분위기가 지속됩니다. 이외에 앨범에 수록된’시간의 언덕’이나 ‘계절이 바뀌는 탓일 거야’도 참 좋습니다. 유튜브 보시면 Official Video가 있으니 한 번 들어보세요 :) 뮤직비디오도 있습니다. 사실 제가 이렇게 약간은 허스키하면서 가성을 섞어 부르는 목소리를 그렇게 선호하는 편은 아닌데(저는 맑은 목소리 신봉자입니다) 최근에는 희한하게 이런 목소리들이 확 끌리고 있는 중입니다. 성향이 변한걸까요, 마음이 힘들어서 그런걸까요, 아니면 더위에 뇌가 상한걸까요 ^^; 아무튼 백예린 양도 그렇고 신설희 씨도 그렇고 너무 매력적인 보이스를 가지고 있습니다. 추가 동영상은 EP 앨범인 ‘일상의 잔상’의 타이틀 곡 인 ‘원(Circle)’의 아이슬란드 라이브 버전을 링크해드리겠습니다. 기타로만 진행되는데 이것도 너무 좋아요. :) 나중에 이 분도 공연하게 되면 꼭 한 번 직접 제 눈과 제 귀로 노래 부르시는 걸 듣고 싶네요. [#02. 소음밴드 - 연] 가끔 그런 경우들이 있곤 합니다. 정말 좋은 노래인데 듣게 되던 당시 마음이 좋지 않거나 주변 상황이 좋지 않거나 해서 놓치고 있다가 나중에 우연히 듣게 되고 다시금 빠져들게 되는 그런 경우들요. 지금 소개드리는 ‘소음밴드’의 ‘연’이란 곡이 딱 그런 케이스인데요. 이 노래를 알게 된 게.. 해외 근무하던 중 위에서도 언급한 그 친구에게 ‘요새 들을 만한 인디 뮤지션 노래 좀 추천해봐라’ 라고 하니 대뜸 최근에 정말 좋다며 추천해 줬습니다. 당시에는 참 좋기는 한데.. 제가 스트레스를 너무 극심하게 받던 터라 이런 차분한 분위기의 음악을 도무지 감당할 수 없었습니다. 그렇게 좋기는 했던 노래… 정도로 기억되고 있었는데 며칠 안되었네요. 지난 화요일에 홍대에 아는 분을 만나러 간 곳에서 우연하게도 이 소음밴드가 공연하는 걸 듣게 되었습니다. 지금 소개해드린 이 ‘연’이라는 노래를 부르셨는데요. 그 이전에도 ‘멜로디 참 좋고 기억에 참 남는다’ 라는 생각은 했었는데, 그 때 딱 듣고 나서 그 다음날까지 머릿속에 계속 남게 되더라구요. 특히 후렴구의 ‘내가 여~기’ 하는 부분에서 ‘여~’ 소리를 내시는데 진성에서 가성으로 넘어갔다 다시 진성으로 오는 그 부분에서 찌릿하면서 등골이 오싹해지고 온 몸에 전율과 함께 감탄이 절로 나오더라구요. 너~~무 좋더라구요 ㅠㅠ 그래서인지 아침에 팀에서 회의하는데 후렴구의 ‘내가 여기 지금 여기 있어요. 그대 어디 두리번거려요’ 이 구절이 계속 생각나는 바람에 회의 맥락을 못 따라가서 혼자서 고생을(…) 좀 했습니다. 아무튼 그 덕에 백예린 양, 신설희 씨에 이어 소음밴드도 미친듯이 돌려대는 플레이리스트에 수록되어 버렸습니다(…) 그 날은 정식 공연은 아니어서 이 노래와 다른 노래 한 곡만 들었는데요. 행여나 공연하신다는 소식 들리면 EP 앨범이지만 CD 사들고 가서 사인이라도 받을 수 있으면 좋겠다.. 란 생각을 하게 되었습니다 ^^;참 , 그리고 보컬 목소리만 좋은 게 아니라 편곡이.. 죽여줍니다. 처음에 나오는 피아노의 소리에 곧 추가되는 첼로의 감싸주는 듯한 부드럽고 묵직한 소리, 그리고 감정을 최종적으로 고조시켜서 팍 터뜨려 주는 오케스트라의 소리는 정말 ㅠㅠ 듣다보면 눈물 납니다.. 어흑; 아, 참. 친구가 이 밴드 소개해주면서 한 평가가 ‘착한 마녀’가 부르는 노래 같다.. 라는 점이었는데 노래 들어보신 분들.. 어떠세요? 공감하실 수 있으신가요? ^^; 저는 확실하게 공감하고 있습니다(그렇다고 보컬 분이 마녀라는 이야기는 아니에요 ㅠㅠ 비유입니다 비유 ㅠㅠ) 너무나도 당연하게도!! 이 앨범은 전체 노래가 다 좋습니다. ‘디오드레베’, ‘소녀의 기도’, ‘나를 위한 날이야’ ‘모든 것은 변한다’ 그리고 소개드린 ‘연’까지 총 5곡 포함인데요.. 저는 CD 주문 이미 해버렸습니다(..) MP3는 이미 적법하게 다운 다 받아뒀구요. 이젠 공연만 남았습니다(후훗) 참 그리고 5분에 달하는 (요새 분위기로는) 플레이 타임이 긴 노래인데요, 구성이 워낙 좋아서 그런지 절대 길게 안 느껴집니다. 선율에 허우적 대다 보면 어느새 5분 삭제(…)입니다 ^^; 추가로 ‘소녀의 기도’도 링크 걸어놓습니다! [#03. CHEEZE - Romance] 이번 노래는.. 아는 동생과 이야기를 하다가 문득 깨우치듯 발견하게 된 노래입니다. 그 동생이랑 안면은 있었지만 깊이 있는 이야기는 해 본 적이 없었는데.. 어쩌다 이야기를 해 보니 이 친구도 심각한 인디 중독자 ^^; 더라구요. 제가 이것저것 툭툭 던지듯 말한 뮤지션들을 거의 다 알고 그랬는데.. 그 친구가 이야기 했던 뮤지션 중 제가 알기는 하는데 제대로 안 들어봐서 노래는 기억이 안나던 게 바로 지금 소개드리는 ‘CHEEZE’의 ‘Romance’ 라는 곡입니다. 이 노래는 보컬 분의 목소리가 참 섹시하다라며 그 친구가 안내를 해줬습니다. 저도 거기에 적극 동의합니다(…) 그게 너무 매력적이에요. 미친듯이 틀어대던 리스트에는 포함이 안되어 있습니다만 대략 밤 11시쯤에 틀어두기엔 분위기가 너무 좋은 노래입니다.. 그렇지 않나요? ㅎㅎ 참 섹시한 목소리인데 천박해지기 전에 잘 조절을 하고 있어서 마음에 듭니다. 근데 웃긴 건 앨법에서 이 노래만 이런 식인지라… 당황스러울 때도 있습니다 ^^; 그래도 재즈 풍 편곡도 너무 반갑고.. 아무튼 좋아요. 흐흣 [#04. 신현희와 김루트 - 왜 때려요 엄마] 이번에 소개할 곡은 앞에 소개한 곡들과는 완전 다른 분위기의 신나는 노래입니다 ^^; 일단 듀오 이름이 특이하지요? ‘신현희와 김루트’흐흐. 뭔가 미묘한 분위기가 느껴지지요? 제가 처음 이 밴드를 알게 된 건 뷰티풀 민트 라이프(이하 뷰민라)였습니다. 그날은 놀러간 건 아니고 의뢰받은 건이 있어서 촬영을 하러 간 것이었는데.. 의뢰인의 공연 장소가 실내였기에 미리 조명이랑 기타 상황등 체크 해둘려고 들어갔다가 우연히 이 밴드가 하는 공연을 보게 되었습니다. 이 밴드 아주 특이한게.. 프론트 우먼인 신현희 씨가 말씀을 아주 재미지게 하십니다. 뷰민라에서 하셨던 이야기 중에 기억 나는건 ‘자꾸 이렇게 멘트하면 사람들이 저 보고 미친 것 같다고 하는데요. 저 그런 사람 아니에요’(…) 였습니다. 음. 멘트 치시는 게 그런 오해를 불러 일으키기 아주 좋기는 했습니다만(…) 아무튼 노래는 너무 좋았고 밴드 이름 또한 특이해서 기억하고 그 다음부터는 MP3를 수집중입니다. 흐흐. 이 노래 말고 사실 다른 노래들도 좀 들어야 하는데 이 노래 임팩트가 너무 세서(…) 다른 노래들은 아직 손이 안 가고 있습니다(…) 어쩌면 이 노래만 이렇게 신나는 분위기일지도 모르는 겁니다(…) 우연한 기회에 다른 노래 돌려보고 위에 소개해드린 곡들처럼 머리를 땡 맞고 너무 좋다고 줄창 들을지도 모르는 거지요 ^^; 아무튼 신나는 노래이며 가사 내용은 소싯적에 엄마에게 반항하는 그런 내용입니다.. ^^;; 여기까지입니다! 여름인데 희안하게 처지는 노래들만 듣고 있습니다. 예전에는 분명 여름에 이런 곡들 견디지 못했는데… 이런거 찾아 듣는거 보면 나이가 들어서 그러는건지 외로워서 그러는건지 우울해서 그러는건지.. 흠.. 아무튼 그렇습니다. 소개해 드린 노래 들어보신 분들. 어떠신가요? 노래 괜찮았나요? ^^ 이런 노래들 틀어놓고 아무 생각없이 소리 하나하나 짚어가면서 듣는 게 참 힐링이 되네요.. 흐흐. 공연도 보러가야 하는데 혼자 어디 가는건 이제 지겹고.. 그렇네요. 그렇지만 막상 들으면 좋아하면서.. 하아.. 아무튼 행복하세요! ^^ Warning: Use of undefined constant no - assumed 'no' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/redtea/html/a_skin/bbsd/view.php on line 133 Warning: Use of undefined constant no - assumed 'no' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/redtea/html/a_skin/bbsd/view.php on line 146 Warning: Use of undefined constant vote - assumed 'vote' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/redtea/html/a_skin/bbsd/view.php on line 161 2
