안드로이드 차기 버전부터는 끊김없는 업데이트(Seamless update) 기능이 도입된다고 합니다. 짧게 설명하면.. - 기존 운영체제 (윈도우, 안드로이드, ios, os x 등..) 의 경우 운영체제 업데이트 시 재부팅을 하면서 긴 시간동안 업데이트 과정을 거침 - 그 시간이 상당히 길다보니 이용자들이 업데이트를 꺼리게 되는 문제점 발생 - 안드로이드 N부터는 파티션을 내부적으로 2개를 잡아둔 뒤 메인 파티션에선 기존처럼 정상 동작 서브 파티션에선 '신규 업데이트가 나오면 업데이트를 받아서 설치까지 백그라운드에서 진행' 그 후 재부팅 시 '메인파티션과 서브파티션이 교체' 되는 방식을 통해서 그냥 재부팅만 하면 순식간에 신규 버전 OS로 교체되는 시스템이 도입된다고 합니다. - 이용자에게 적용되는 단점이라면.. 용량을 더 차지한다는 점? 이 있긴 한데 ios와 비교해서 '운영체제 버전업데이트'가 심하게 파편화 되어 있는 안드로이드 진영에서 택한 새로운 방법이라고 보시면 될 것 같네요..
