총선시기가 되면 그 지역의 왕이 누구인지를 알 수 있지요. 예를 들면 목포의 '박지원' - 아마 국회의원 출마자격을 잃어버리지 않는다면 계속 국회의원을 할 수 있을 겁니다. 나름 서울에서도 지역의 왕이 있었던 시절이 있었는데, 민주당의 정대철의원이였지요. 덕분에 아들인 정호준씨도 국회의원을 하고 있지요. 부산은 김세연, 정의화 그리고 뜨거운 조경태가 있습니다. 김세연씨는 정몽준씨가 국회의원 하기 전까지 가장 돈 많은 국회의원이였던 김진재 동일고무벨트회장의 아들이고, 한국맥도날드인 맥킴도 이 집안의 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 지역구인 금정구 뿐만 아니라 부산시 전체를 보아도, 이 집안의 땅을 밟지 않고 부산을 돌아다니는 것이 불가능하다는 것이 중론이지요. 정의화씨는 봉생병원으로 불리는 의료법인의 실질적인 소유주이고 중구에서 태어나 중구국회의원을 5선이나 했지요. 조경태의원은 상당히 독특한데, 지역연고의 개념이 별로 없는 사하구에서 지역밀착형 정치인으로 성공을 한 경우입니다. 부산에서 야당으로 3선을 했고, 이번 총선에서도 무소속으로 나와도 당선이 될 정도의 영향력을 가지고 있지요. 아... 위의 김세연 의원도 한나라당 시절 공천을 받지 못해서 무소속으로 출마해서 당선되었습니다. 한나라당에서 김세연의원이 젊다고 무시한 것이지요. 이 이외에도 권철현 전 주일본대사(동아대학 재단과 밀접한 관계가) 및 동서대학 소유하고 있는 장제원 전 국회의원 등이 공천을 받으면 100%, 무소속으로 나와도 절반정도로 국회의원에 당선될 가능성이 있는 지역의 인물들입니다. (뭐 인물이라고 해서 좋은 사람이라는 뜻은 아니니...) 김무성대표도 나름 지분이 있지만 위의 인물들 처럼 확고한 지역기반이 있는 것 같지는 않습니다. 그러고 보니 다른 지역의 왕들은 어떤 사람들이 있는지 궁금해 지기도 합니다. 두 지역구 모두 첫줄에 언급한 경기도지사 선거로 두 분 모두 의원직을 내려놓으면서 발생한 공석을 재보궐로 뽑은 상태인데요. 영통은 더민주 박광온 의원, 팔달은 새누리 김용남 의원입니다.
두 의원 모두 나름 거물급(새누리 임태희, 당시 새정치 손학규)들을 상대로 승리한 상태이긴 한데 전임자들 만큼 압도적인 승리는 아니었습니다.
여기에 덧붙여 수원은 현재 선거구가 기존 4개에서 5~6개로 늘어날 전망인데 서로 이익을 보려고 눈치 싸움 중입니다. 새누리당은 팔달구를 어떻게 잘 쪼개서 넣어서 영통지구 쪽을 제외한 모든 지역구를 획득하려는 계산이고 더민주당은 영통을 2개로 쪼개서 의석을 하나 안정적으로 획득하려고 하는 모양새입니다.
아마 다시 나올 일이 없는 두 분이지만 나오기만 한다면 당선 확정 수준의 후보들이기도 하지요.
수원 영통은 아주대, 경희대라는 큰 대학교가 2개 포함되어 있고 인구구성도 젊은 연령 인구가 비율이 상대적으로 높은 지역이어서 항상 야권이 유리했었고
수원 팔달은 구시가지+수원화성때문에 개발제한이 많이 걸린 지역이라서 개발에 대한 요구가 높은 지역이자 평균연령이 높은 지역이라 여권이 유래한 지역이죠.
두 지역구 모두 첫줄에 언급한 경기도지사 선거로 두 분 모두 의원직을 내려놓으면서 발생한 공석을 재보궐로 뽑은 상태인데요. 영통은 더민주 박광온 의원, 팔달은 새누리 김용남 의원입니다.
두 의원 모두 나름 거물급(새누리 임태희, 당시 새정치 손학규)들을 상대로 승리한 상태이긴 한데 전임자들 만큼 압도적인 승리는 아니었습니다.
