1 원작 내부자들은 한겨례신문에 2010년~ 2012년까지 연재하였고, 73화로 연재가 중단되었습니다. http://blog.naver.com/zzyru/220540725759 (내부자들의 웹툰을 모아놓은 링크입니다. 영화 보기전 보려고 찾아봤는데 이쪽 블로그에서 제공하는 주소가 가장 정확하더군요. 문제시 자삭 하겠습니다) 웹툰 내부자들은 이야기를 진행하는 것 뿐만아니라 만평같은 느낌의 정치이야기도 담겨있었습니다. 아마도 신문사에서 진행하는 웹툰인지라 그런 이야기가 포함되어 있는것 같습니다. 내부자들의 연재가 중단된 이유는 외적인 압력은 없었고 내부적이 문제였다고 합니다. 인터뷰로는 '과연 내가 이 거대한 이야기를 마무리 지을 수 있을까?' 라는 고민에 빠졌고 연재 중단을 선택하였다고 합니다. 또한 내부자들이 영화화 되는 것을 반대하였고, 굉장히 걱정했다고 전해집니다. http://navercast.naver.com/magazine_contents.nhn?rid=2810&contents_id=102881 http://navercast.naver.com/magazine_contents.nhn?rid=2810&contents_id=103472 (영화 내부자들 프리퀄. 원작과는 매우 다른 인물들의 모습입니다) 영화에서 부족한 그들의 이야기에 '사족' 을 달면서 조금이라도 힘을 실어주고 싶었던 것인가? 라는 생각이 듭니다. 또한 원작을 제대로 살리지 못했기에 완전 새로운 이야기처럼 가져가려는 의도가 아닐까 라는 생각도 들었습니다. 2 영화 내부자들에선 새로운 인물이 등장합니다. 바로 조승우 배우가 연기한 검사 '우장훈' 역할입니다. 원작의 기자를 검사로 바꾸어 놓았습니다. 제가 생각했을 때는 우장훈이라는 원작에 없던 인물을 추가함으로써 큰 문제가 된 것 같습니다. ----이하 스포일러가 있습니다---- 정치깡패인 안상구가 장필우, 이강희, 오회장에게 복수를 하기 위해 그들의 비리를 폭로하려 합니다. 하지만 안상구의 과거행적 때문에 그의 주장은 신빙성을 잃고 오히려 사랑하는 여자 김지현을 잃게됩니다. 그래서 검사 우장훈이 직접 내부자가 되어 그들을 고발하게 되고, '깡패보다 믿을만한 사람이 하는 증언' 을 위해서 존재하는 도구로 남게됩니다. 영화를 보는 내내 있어서 우장훈이 맹목적으로 쫓는 '정의' 라는 것이 명확하게 설명되지 않습니다. 마치 '이강희의 그것' 처럼 수단은 다르지만 명예를 쫓고자 하는 것인지, 책상 앞에 붙여놓은 '지금 지옥길을 걷고 있다면 계속가자' 라는 말처럼 순수한 정의를 쫓는 것인지 명확하게 설명되지 않습니다. 깡패 대신 검사의 증언을 통한 고발을 위해서만 존재한다고 봐도 무방합니다. 특히 우장훈의 계획이 모두 실패로 끝나자 깡패 안상구가 모든 계획을 짜고 그것에 꼭뚜각시 노릇밖에 못하는 우장훈의 모습을 보면 내부자들의 이야기는 굉장히 힘을 잃게 됩니다. 원작에 없던 캐릭터의 등장이 억지스럽다고 볼 수 있습니다. 3 처음, 중간, 끝 모두 한 영화를 보는 것 같지가 않습니다. 저는 일부러 내부자들 웹툰을 보지 않고 영화를 봤습니다. 그리고 굉장한 위화감을 느꼈습니다. 첫 시작부터 안상구가 팔이 잘리고 이강희를 차에서 두 번째 만나는 씬 까지는 그럭저럭 나쁘지 않다고 생각되었습니다. 아무런 배경 설명없이 '다짜고짜' 시작하는 기분이 들긴 했지만, 검사의 배경, 깡패의 캐릭터. 그리고 장필우, 이강희, 오회장 트리오의 모습까지 무난하게 이끌고 갔다고 생각이 듭니다. 하지만 안상구와 우장훈이 만나 '콤비' 를 이루는 순간부터 이 영화의 흐름이 달라지기 시작합니다. 모텔에서 만나 개그씬을 펼치는 모습, 우장훈이 다짜고짜 자신의 아버지 집에 데려가 자신의 계획을 펼치는 이야기와 그것이 실패로 끝나는 지점까지. 웹툰을 본적이 없었지만 분명 이 이야기는 감독이 만들어 냈을 것이라는 생각이 들었습니다. 그럼에도 저는 괜찮다는 생각이 들었습니다. 마냥 진지하고 잔인하다가, 모텔에서 개그도 펼치고 (이병헌, 조승우 두 배우가 아니었다면 이토록 흐름을 깨지 않고 자연스럽게 개그를 소화하지 못했을 것입니다), 나름 달달한 로맨스도 있습니다. (모히또에서 몰디브한잔?) 누군가는 남자들이야기, 정치 이야기에서 개그, 로맨스가 나온다는게 이미 장르의 정체성이 사라진 것이 아니냐고 물을지 모르겠지만 저는 충분히 용서가 되는 전개였습니다. 문제는 우장훈의 계획이 실패하고 안상구가 계획을 짜고 그것이 성공하는 뒷이야기 입니다. 사실 이 "내부자" 라고 하는 소재는 굉장히 흥미롭고 좋은 소재라 생각이 듭니다. 무간도, 디파티드, 신세계가 그러하였습니다. (물론 이중간첩은...ㅠ) 이렇게 좋은 소재가 단지 수단이 되어버렸고, 특히나 안상구가 "생명의 위협을 느낄때 나오는 말은 증거 채택이 어렵다" 라는 것 까지 알면서 그 뒤의 계획까지 술술 읊는 장면은.. 배우들도 어떻게 연기를 할 수 없는 상황을 만들었다는 생각이 들었습니다. (이럴거면 차라리 혀를 자르던지) 한 영화를 보면서 원작 웹툰을 보지 않았음에도, 웹툰에서 중단된 스토리와 그 이후의 스토리를 구분할 수 있을 정도로 위화감이 든다면. 혼란스럽지 않을까요? 4 -이병헌, 조승우, 백윤식. 확실히 도구를 탓하지 않는 것 같습니다. 이 영화에서 이병헌은 머리스타일이 약 7번 가량 바뀝니다. 물론 각본대로 바꾼 것일 수도 있겠으나, 이병헌 배우 본인이 각각의 장면과 상황에서 그러한 머리를 하겠다는 의도도 있지 않았을까 생각됩니다. 맨 처음 기자회견을 할 때의 단정한 머리. 이강희에게 비자금 서류를 건내주며 정치쪽으로 나가보겠다고 거들먹 거릴 때의 머리. 팔이 잘리고 촌스러운 모습의 뽀글이 파마를 길게 한 머리. 안상구의 과거 행적을 이야기할 때 나오는 머리스타일 세 가지. 그리고 마지막 엔딩에서의 머리스타일. 뭐 이런 자질구레한 것 가지고 이야기하느냐 할 수도 있습니다. 하지만 이 영화에서 연기하는 배우들은 마치 "팔 다리 다 묶어놓고 연기해봐라" 라는 식으로 배우들을 다룹니다. 이야기가 별로라면 저런 디테일한 부분을 통해서라도 캐릭터를 연기해야겠지요. 또한 감탄한 것 중 하나는 팔이 잘리고 난 뒤의 안상구에 대한 연출입니다. 원작 웹툰에는 전혀 없는 설정이었는데, 나이트 화장실에서 반 강제적으로 수건 주고 팁받는 일을 하는 설정, 옥상에서 소주와 라면을 먹는 설정을 해 놓았는데, 할 이야기가 많고 캐릭터 설명이 부족한 이 영화에서 이러한 설정은 꽤나 스타일이 살아있고 망가져 버린 캐릭터를 잘 설명하지 않았나 싶습니다. 그렇지만, 후반부 안상구가 새롭게 계획을 짜고 그것을 이끌어 나가며 마지막엔 밴치에 누워 웃는 표정으로 즐기는 모습들은.. 이병헌도 도저히 소화하기 힘든 연기라 생각이 되었습니다.. (깡패가 검사보다 더 똑똑해??) -백윤식의 연기는 사실 과거 많이 보아왔던 모습들입니다. 하지만 이 연기에서는 완급조절을 기가막히게 했다는 생각이 듭니다. 말하는 것도 평소의 연기 톤 보다 더 절제하는 느낌이었고, 표정도 거의 움직이지 않는 느낌이었습니다. 그리고 딱 한 씬에서만 굉장한 힘을 주었습니다. 검찰에 잡히고 우장훈과 대면할 때 였습니다. 이 대화장면은 굉장히 흥미로운데, 처음엔 우장훈이 이강희를 살살 도발하면서 긁습니다. 더러운 방식으로 여기까지 왔는데 어떠냐고. 그리고 이번엔 이강희가 도발합니다. 이 대사는 원작 웹툰에서도 나온 대사인데 '보카시 장난' 이라고 합니다. http://www.hani.co.kr/arti/cartoon/insider/530521.html (내부자들 66회 보카시 장난) 의도했다고 보기 힘들다, 고의가 있다고 보기 힘들다, 연관이 있다고 보기 힘들다, 청탁이 있다고 보기힘들다, 의도했다고 볼 수 있다, 고의가 있다고 볼 수 있다, 연관이 있다고 볼 수 있다, 청탁이 있다고 볼 수 있다, 어떤 검사는 '매우 보여진다' 라고까지 쓰는 경우도 있다. 라는 원작에서도 나오는 대사를 통해 도발을 하는 장면입니다. 지루할 수도 있는 반복 & 긴 대사를 하나하나 콕콕 찔러주며 도발하는 연기는 백윤식 배우가 대사를 얼마나 가지고 노는지 보여주는 장면이라고 볼 수 있겠습니다. -조승우가 맡은 역할은 위에서도 언급했듯 꼭두각시 입니다. 본인이 왜 그렇게까지 정의를 쫓으려는지 이 영화는 말해주지 않습니다. 긴긴 이야기를 전개하는 것도 힘들어 죽겠는데 원작에서도 없던 역할의 '정체성' 까지 주는 것은 감독역량이 부족하다고 느껴집니다. 하지만 조승우 라고 하는 배우의 이미지 + 연기력 을 통해 잘 해결했다고 생각됩니다. 저는 아직도 우장훈 검사가 마지막에 변호사를 택한 이유가 '정의' 를 쫓다 나락으로 떨어진 것인지, 정의라는 징글징글한 것을 쫓다 포기한 것인지 납득할 수 없었지만, '몰디브 모히또' 농담하는 연기를 보면서 그러려니 웃어 넘겼습니다. 5 결론적으로. 내용이 특출나거나 대단한 것은 전혀 없습니다. 다만, 이렇게 팔 다리 꽁꽁 묶어놓고 연기를 해야하는 상황에서도 끝끝내 재미있게 만드는 배우들의 힘은 인정하지 않을 수 없었습니다. 이야기를 기대하신다면 잠시 접어두시고, 백윤식, 이경영 배우의 '색다른 폭탄주 만들기' 와 이산타의 혓바닥 데이면서 먹는 라면먹는 연기, 이병헌의 시원한 방구소리를 들으실 수 있는 영화입니다. · 생각해보니 이병헌, 조승우 배우가 서로 역할을 바꾸었다면 굉장히 흥미로운 영화가 될 수도 있었을 것 같습니다. · 저와 구밀복검, 이명주 군이 진행하는 팟캐스트 '영화계' 에서 더 많은 이야기를 만나실 수 있습니다 ^^ http://www.podbbang.com/ch/8720 Warning: Use of undefined constant no - assumed 'no' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/redtea/html/a_skin/bbsd/view.php on line 133 Warning: Use of undefined constant no - assumed 'no' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/redtea/html/a_skin/bbsd/view.php on line 146 Warning: Use of undefined constant vote - assumed 'vote' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/redtea/html/a_skin/bbsd/view.php on line 161 2 이 게시판에 등록된 리니시아님의 최근 게시물
