여행지 소개 한번 해볼께요. 제가 실제로 2년간 거주 했었고 현재도 자주 들리는 곳입니다. 베트남 남부 호치민시에서 두어시간 거리에 위치한 바리아 붕따우라는 곳을 소개해 보려구요. 베트남 내에서 한국인들에게 인기 있는 해양 관광지는 주로 다낭 냐짱 무이네 푸꿕등이 있는데요. 제가 소개하는 붕따우라는 곳은 해외에서 입국한 여행객 보다는 호치민 인근 지역에 거주하는 현지인들 또는 교민들이 즐겨찾는 여행지중 한곳 입니다. 분위기가 그냥 한국 서해안 어디 시골 마을 같아요. 그렇다고 농사짓고 소키우는 시골 느낌은 아니구요. 소도시 바닷가 마을 느낌 입니다. 그럼에도 굳이 붕따우에 관해 구구절절 이야기하는 이유는 그럼에도 붕따우가 꽤 매력적인 곳 때문입니다. 우선 치안이 매우 안정적이구요. 날씨가 온화하고 정말 좋습니다. 또한 고급진 5성급 호텔과 리조트가 즐비한 다낭이나 나트랑 푸꿕 등과는 다른 외지인들은 잘 알지 못하는 붕따우의 매력이 있습니다. 붕따우 지역은 대충 프론트비치 , 백비치 , 중심가 및 시내상권 , 원숭이산 거대 예수상 해안도로 , 해산물 야시장 그리고 클럽이나 로컬 bar등의 스팟으로 나눌수가 있는데요. 하나씩 대충 설명 드려 볼께요. [ 프론티비치 / 백비치 ] https://youtu.be/bLNRgzrOR0I 프론트비치는 백비치는 붕따우 지역을 둘러싸고 있는 대표적인 두곳의 해수욕장 지역 입니다. 앞서 언급 했듯이 에메랄드빛 바다 느낌의 해변은 전혀 아니구요 . 우리나라 서해의 어느 어촌마을 딱 그 느낌이에요. 그래도 주말이면 현지인 관광객들로 인산인해를 이룹니다 . 빛이 강해서 낮보단 초저녁에 캔맥주 하나 들고 여유롭게 살살 걸어 다니면 사람 구경도 하고 시원하고 좋습니다. [ 거대 예수상 ] https://youtu.be/PvzPBZYAg1k 거대 예수상은 붕따우의 상징이라고 할수 있있는데요 해안도로 인근 산꼭대기에 위치 해 있습니다. 예수상 내부의 133개의 계단과 높이 32m 정도로 이루어진 세계에서 세번째로 높은 예수그리스도 상이라고 하는데요. 느낌상 32미터가 별거 아닌것 처럼 느껴지는대요 . 실제로 예수상 내부 계단을 타고 꼭대기까지 올라가서 붕따우 시내와 바다를 내려다 보면 기존 산의 높이가 더해져서 정말 아찔합니다. 저는 다리가 후달달 떨려서 내려다 보기 힘들 정도 였습니다. 또한 풍경 또한 정말 장관이구요. 꼭 기독교인이 아니더라도 한번쯤 들려볼만한 장소라고 생각합니다. 경건한 곳이기에 핫팬츠나 미니스커트 배꼽티등을 입고는 입장이 불가 합니다. 입뺀당함. [임페리얼 호텔] 5성급 임페리얼 호텔의 룸 컨디션은 스위트룸은 못가봤지만 일반실기준 한국 관광호텔 수준 입니다. 그럼에도 이곳을 언급하는 이유는 5성 호텔이기도 하구요 . 또 이곳에 카지노가 있습니다. 멋지게 옷을 차려입은 딜러들이랑 게임하는 그런 수준의 카지노는 아니구요. 슬롯머신 위주의 작은 카지노에요. 낮에 심심할때 더위도 식힐겸 일이백불 들고 와서 기계랑 좀 놀다가 가시는분들이 꽤 계시더라구요. 제가 도박은 한번도 안해봐서 이곳 승률이 좋은지는 모르겠습니다. [야시장] Night Market Vung Tau - Night Market Vung Tau https://maps.app.goo.gl/9FNvRNBV1eSk5wwaA 붕따우에서 밤에 술마시기 좋은곳 입니다. 위에서 언급한 임페리얼 호텔 뒷편에 위치한 야시장 인데요. 골목을 중심으로 각종 생선 조개등 어패류에 간단히 맥주한잔 하기 참 좋습니다. 베트남도 아직 관광지는 바가지가 있는데요. [특히 무이네 해산물거리 바가지는 정말 끔찍합니다. ] 이곳 붕따우 또한 관광객에게 바가지가 아에 없다고는 할수는 없지만 다른 관광지에 비하면 거의 애교 수준입니다. 간혹 예를 들어 현지인에게 꼬막구이 한접시에 80.000vnd(4000원) 받는데 제가 영어 쓰면서 관광객인 척하면 저에게도100.000vnd(5.000원)을 받는 둥 이정도 수준의 바가지는 있더라구요. 간단한 조개류나 생선구이등 대부분 안주 한접시에 3.500원에서 10.000원 정도면 드실수 있구요. 맥주 한병에 최근엔 못가봤는데 25.000-30.000vnd (1200-1500원) 정도 할겁니다. 그 외에도 몇가지 야채 볶음이나 식사류도 먹을만 합니다. 야시장 상인들이 한국인들을 보면 랍스타나 다금바리회를 추천 하는데요. 가급적 드시지 않는게 좋습니다. 랍스타는 이곳에서도 한국처럼 캐나다 등지에서 수입해서 판매하기 때문에 한국이랑 비슷하거나 비싸고 요리스킬도 많이 부족합니다. 다금바리 회도 저는 비추합니다. 우선 엄밀히 우리가 알고 있는 제주 다금바리랑은 다른 품종이구요. 더운 수온에서 자란 고기는 횟감으로는 식감이 별로 입니다. 또한 어떤 사료를 먹여서 어떤 수질에서 키웠는지도 모릅니다. 또한 이 나라 날씨나 도마등의 위생상태등을 고려해서 날생선은 드시면 않는게 좋을듯 합니다. 또한 정글에 법칙등에 나오는 크레이피쉬 또한 베이비 랍스타라고 판매하는데요. 그냥 왕새우 맛입니다. 그냥 일반 새우 오천원어치 쪄서 와사비에 찍어 드시거나 갯가재요리 등이 제일 무난합니다. 음 그래도 해외 왔는데 갑각류 정도는 드시고 싶으신 분도 계실텐데요 . 간하오라는 식당 가셔서 여러 해산물 요리와 베트남 게요리 정도 드시면 가격도 괜찮구요 . 맛도 평타는 칩니다. https://youtu.be/HIULZukL04U 아무튼 야시장은 밤바람 맞으면서 그냥 간단히 조개구이랑 새우찜 정도 주문해서 맥주한잔 드시면 딱 좋구요 . 밤공기도 시원하고 분위기도 괜찮아서 일이만원 정도 챙겨서 들려보시는 것도 나쁘지 않을거 같네요. 또한 야시장에서 중년의 남성이 혼자 술을 마시고 있으면 마담뚜들이 접근하는데요. 사실 성매매를 알선 하는 아줌마들 입니다. 그냥 대꾸 안하시면 되구요. 저같은 경우는 가끔 혼여와서 심심할때 말동무 아가씨 한명 불러 달라고 해서 맥주 마시는데 한 이만원 정도 주고 불러서 맥주 한잔 하거나 아님 오토바이 태워 달라고 하기도 합니다. 근데 맥주 마시고 있으면 아까 그 아줌마가 말동무 친구 소개시켜 줬으니 오천원만 달라고 집요하게 ㅋㅋ 요구합니다. 안주면 안가고 옆에 앉아서 안주를 다 먹으면서 버티면서 방해합니다. [판추찐거리] Night Market Vung Tau - Night Market Vung Tau https://maps.app.goo.gl/9FNvRNBV1eSk5wwaA 제가 붕따우에서 가장 좋아하는 마을이고 또 저에겐 추억과 낭만이 있는 판추찐이라는 지역인데요. 지리적 조건이 바다에서도 가깝고 또 산 밑에 위치하고 있어서 그늘이 많고 아주 시원 합니다. 또한 하루에 10.000~ 30.000원 정도에 숙박 할수있는 모텔들이 아주 많아요. 주로 주머니 사정 가벼운 여행객들이나 붕따우에 거주하는 현지 젊은이들이 많이 들립니다. 모텔이 워낙 많아서 업체끼리 경쟁이 매우 치열하기 때문에 비용이 저렴합니다. 지역 특성상 유흥업소 종사자들도 많이 거주 하구요. 그래서 모텔 앞에서 고객을 유치하기 위한 호객행위를 하기도 합니다. 가족들이랑 숙박하긴 좀 그렇구요. 너무 까탈스럽지 않은 분이시라면 혼여 오셔서 대충 잘곳 찾으시면 가격도 싸고 또 주변에 Bar나 식당들도 많아서 여행오셔서 지내기 좋습니다. 그리고 이 지역은 베트남 여성들과 함께 사는 서양 노인들이 많이 거주 하는 지역이기도 합니다. 모두 각자의 비밀과 사연들을 품고 이 곳까지 왔을 텐데요 . 그래서인지 골목 중간 중간에 이방인들의 쓸쓸함을 달래줄 꽤 여러곳의 bar와 카페들이 자리하고 있습니다. 그곳에서 여종업원들과 담소를 나누거나 포켓볼이나 체스 등을 즐기는 사람들을 자주 마주하게 됩니다. 또한 서양인들을 상대로 운영하는 저렴하고 괜찮은 스테이크나 버거집 스파케티집 등도 꽤 있습니다. 아주 수준높은 음식점들은 아니구요 . 그래도 실제 거주하는 서양인들 상대로 서양음식 파는곳이라 그럭저럭 대충 먹을만 합니다. 그리고 [수산시장] Xóm Lưới Seafood Market Street 83RG+PPW, Nguyễn Công Trứ, Phường 1, Thành phố Vũng Tầu, Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu https://g.co/kgs/zA5971 한국의 동네 시장 느낌 입니다. 꽃게나 여러가지 해산물을 판매하는데요. 이곳에서 수산물을 사다가 취사가 가능한 숙소에서 요리 해드셔도 좋을거 같아서 적어 봅니다. [해안도로] 말그대로 해안도로 입니다. 석양을 감상 하면서 길게 펼쳐진 해안도로를 달리는 것도 정말 좋은데요. 자동차 보다는 바람을 맞으며 오토바이를 타고 달리는게 더 낭만적입니다. 하지만 관광객 분들은 오토바이 운전이 위험 할수 있으니까요. 길거리 모서리 마다 오토바이 세워놓고 앉아 계시거나 낮잠 자는 아저씨들 있을거에요. 그 아저씨들 한테 가서 대충 30분 정도 해안 도로 태워 달라고 해서 낡은 오토바이 뒤에 타고 살살 달리면서 바람 쐐면 정말 끝내줍니다. 지역에 코쟁이들이 많이 거주해서 유치원생 수준의 잉글리쉬는 대부분 소통이 가능합니다. 또한 담배 태우시는 분들은 귀구녕에다 무선이어폰을 살포시 꼽고 뒷자리에서 앉아서 띵가띵가 노래도 부르고 담배도 한가치 태우면서 초저녁 해안을 달리는 것도 좋습니다 . 이곳에서는 누구도 무례하게 생각하지 않습니다. 나이 차이 조금 나는 사람 앞에서도 피워도 괜찮습니다. 이곳은 담배에 관대한 나라에요 .저도 흡연자 시절에는 오토바이 택시타고 다니면서 석양 보면서 담배 한가치 피우면 그렇게 좋더라구요. [저는 비흡연자 입니다만 흡연자와 비흡연자가 서로 배려하면서 공존할수 있는 사회가 됐으면 좋겠습니다. 적어도 흡연자들을 너무 극단적으로 혐오 하지는 않았으면 좋겠습니다. 당연히 흡연자들도 더욱 주의해야 하구요.] 비용은 30분 정도 타면 관광객에게는 한 오천원(100.000vnd)은 달라고 하지 않을까 생각됩니다. 최근에 기름값이 많이 올라서 30분이면 현지인에게도 아마 거의 5-7만동은 받을거 같네요. 계산할때 절대 돈뭉치는 보여주지 마시고 10만동(약 5000원) 짜리 한장만 미리 꺼내서 서티 미닛 ok?? 라고 하시면 바로 오케이 할겁니다. 선불 주시면 안됩니다. 그리고 그 아저씨들 목적지 도착 할때쯤 십중팔구 자꾸 성매매 하라고 꼬시는데요. 제가 비록 유교의 나라 조선에서 태어났지만 선비충은 아니구요. 또한 제가 하란다고 하고 하지 말란다고 안하실건 아니지만 단호하게 절대 따라가시면 안된다고 말씀드립니다. 이곳에 다 서술 할수는 없지만 후회 하실일이 생길수도 있습니다. [붕따우의 유흥문화] 붕따우에도 유흥이 있습니다. 대략 룸가라오케 , 클럽 , bar 비어클럽 등이 있는데요 [가라오케] 제가 룸가라오케는 안다녀서 별로 정보가 없구요. 그냥 한국보다 더 비싼돈 주고 가짜 양주 드시면서 호갱짓 하는 길입니다. [클럽] 그리고 현지 클럽이 있는데요. 가끔 한국에서 친구들이 올때면 클럽에 가긴 가는데 나이가 사십이 넘다 보니 이젠 중년의 저와는 이제 더이상 안맞는거 같습니다. 혈기 왕성하신 분들은 들어 가셔서 맥주타워 하나 시켜서 춤추면서 놀면 될거 같아요. 이십대 젊은 친구들은 현지인 여성들과 조인해서 놀기도 합니다. 주의 할점은 베트남 클럽은 클럽에서 고객이 원할 경우 함께 술마실 접대부를 부를수가 있는데요. 로컬 클럽의 경우 외국인 고객에게 해피벌룬이나 코카인 또는 엑스터시등을 권합니다. 절대 하시면 안됩니다. [BAR] 앞서 말씀 드렸다시피 붕따우에는 중장년의 서양인 들이 많이 거주 합니다 . 영미권의 중장년층들을 비롯하여 러시아 호주등의 나라에서 온 석유업무와 관련된 근로자들도 꽤 많이 거주 합니다. 그렇다보니 자연스럽게 서양의 bar문화가 자리를 잡았는데요. 전에 제가 거주할때 심심해서 오토바이 타고 마을 전체에 bar가 몇개 있나 한번 세어봤는데 그 작은 지역에 57곳 까지 세다가 포기 했을 만큼 구석 구석 작은 bar들이 포진하고 있습니다. 이 곳 Bar 에서는 주로 맥주나 위스키 또는 칵테일을 판매 하는데요. 보통 맥주 한병에 2500원~4000원 정도 합니다. 동네 장사라서 맥주 한두병 마셔도 눈치 주지 않습니다. 간혹 여종업원이나 마담이 매출 증대를 위해서 비싼술을 권하는 경우가 있지만 웃으면서 거절하면 더 귀찮게 하지 않습니다. 도심 관광지랑 달라서 병맥주 몇병 마신다고 무시하거나 뭐 괄시 하지도 않습니다. 물론 성격 화끈하신분들은 조금 늦은 시간에방문해서 2-300$ 짜리 위스키한병 주문해서 샷다 내리고 마시면 솔직히 대우가 달라지죠 . 저도 간혹 한국에서 동창들이나 친구들 오면 그날은 간판불 내리고 마십니다. 또한 bar마다 규모에 따라 적게는 두세명에서 많게는 열명 이상의 2-30대 여성 바텐더들이 근무 하는데요. 따로 접대비가 없습니다. 대신 맘에 드는 여성이 있으면 자리로 불러서 lady drink라고 부르는 직원용 칵테일을 한잔 사주면서 말동무도 하고 간단한 게임이나 포켓볼 치면서 놀면 됩니다 가라오케보다 활기차고 비용도 저렴하고 나름 색다른 매력이 있습니다. 직원용 칵테일은 보통 가게마다 차이가 있는데요 12-15만동 (6~8000) 정도에 판매됩니다. 가게랑 아가씨들이 대략 7/3 비율로 수익이 정해져 있어서 여종업들은 약간의 기본급과 레이디 드링크로 수익이 발생 하기 때문에 대부분 친절하고 비싼 금액을 지불하지 않고도 적당히 유흥을 즐길수 있습니다. 전 가끔 오토바이 아저씨 하루 대절해서 뒤에 타고 다니면서 이집 저집 다니면서 마을 바투어를 즐기곤 합니다. 밤새 놀아도 돈십만원 이면 충분합니다. 비용은 제 기준으로 bar에서 놀면 제가 맥주한병 마실때 바텐더에게도 한잔 정도 사주면서 마시는 스타일인데 포켓볼도 치고 카드 게임하고 노는데 보통 두어시간 마시면 제기준 사오만원 정도 나옵니다. 기분좋을때는 약간의 팁을 주기도 합니다. [베트남은 팁문화가 있습니다. 베트남 서민들도 업종에 따라 팁을 줍니다. 단 의무는 아닙니다.] 그리고 12시 이후에는 가게측에 비용을 지불하고 바텐더와 외부에서 식사나 음주등이 가능합니다. 또한 시골이다 보니 호치민등 대도시에서 Bar에 자주 출몰하는 돈으로 기죽이는 때놈들도 안보여서 좋구요 .시골이다보니 비교적 작은 비용으로도 그럭저럭 좋은 대우를 받습니다. 특히 여행온 이십대 멋쟁이 한국 남성들이 거의 없어서 우리 중장년의 남성들이 술자리 하기에 뭔가 좀 편안합니다. 대도시 보다는 뭔가 느리고 촌스럽고 풋풋한 매력이 있습니다. 저는 이런식으로 종종 바에 가서 바텐더 아가씨들과 사는 이야기도 하고 시시한 농담도 주고 받으면서 , 헛헛한 제 마음을 달래기도 합니다. 그 외에도 라운지 Bar. 디스코텍. 라이프클럽 등 다양한 유흥문화가 있습니다. 담에 2부에서 더 적어 볼께요. [붕따우의 맛집들] 보통 인터넷에서 붕따우의 맛집을 검색하면 로컬 반콕집 . 로컬 반세오집. 로컬 쌀국수집 나오는데요 맛있다는 분들도 많이 계시는데 개인적으로 기름 지저분하고 위생도 별로라 저는 잘 안먹습니다. 또 유명식당으로는 코바 붕따우나 , 간하오 해산물식당 , 태작관 , 다비드피자 프랑스식당등 많이 있는데요 . 이런곳은 그냥 저냥 드실만 하구요. 잘 검색하셔서 취향에 맞는 메뉴 고르시면 될거 같네요. 이외에도 유명식당들이 좀있는데 대부분 대동소이 한거 같아요. 전 여행가면 주로 판추찐에서 저가 웨스턴 식당에 가서 서양음식 같은거 대충 먹고 커피 마시고 저녁엔 바에가서 피쉬앤칩스에 맥주 마시고 ㅋㅋ 그렇게 지냅니다. 이외에도 멋진 성당 , 사찰 , 놀이동산 , 케이블카 , 고급 별장지역 , 대통령 별장, 어촌 공판장 , 외곽 온천, 원숭이산 , 배낚시 스팟등 많은 볼거리와 장소들이 있는데요. 담에 2부에서 더 남겨 보겠습니다. 이곳을 소개한 이유는 홍차넷 이라는 곳에 와서 수많은 글들을 읽고 또 생각을 하고 또 소통하다 보니 나처럼 적적한 분들도 꽤 계신다는게 느껴졌구요. 또 그런 전우 들에게 이런 곳도 있구나 하고 말씀 드리고 싶어서 그냥 몇자 적어 봤습니다. 암튼 이 곳은 다급하게 이삼일 여행와서 큰 매력을 느낄만한 임펙트있는 여행지는 아니에요.4박5일이상은 푹 쉬어 가야 뭔가 느껴지는 곳이에요. 이곳은 뭐든 적당한 느낌입니다. 선을 넘지 않으면서도 충분한 느낌. 다른 동남아 유명 관광지처럼 지나치게 퇴폐적이지도 않고 그렇다고 지루하지도 않고 그러면서도 있을건 다 있는곳. 따로 가이드를 대동할 필요도 없습니다. 저렴한 에어비엔비나 여인숙 하나 얻어서 낡은 슬리퍼하나 신고 오토바이 택시 아저씨 뒤에 타고 다니면서 이발소에서 귀도 파고 마사지도 받고 그렇게 대충 대충.. 로컬식당에서 대충 식사 하고 저녁에는 바에가서 맥주한잔 하면서 여유를 즐기고 또 석양을 보면서 뭔가 돌아볼수 있는 촌스럽고 낭만적인 멋이 있는 곳. 저처럼 마흔이 넘은 또는 오륙십대 형님들께서도 살다가 가슴이 허할때 들려 쉬어가는것도 괜찮겠다 싶어 남겼습니다. 긴글 읽어주셔서 감사합니다. 다음엔 여성분들을 위한 여행 글도 써볼께요.
