박제가 되어 버린 불나방을 아십니까? 어느 주주분이 먼저 올리면 몇 마디 얹고 이런저런 얘기 나누고 싶었지만 주식게시판이 생긴 지 여러 주가 되었어도 올해의 레전드 ㅋ 신풍제약 얘기가 없더라고요. 아래에 피라맥스 얘기처럼 가끔 신풍제약에 대해 호기심을 보이신 분들도 있고, 저 역시 신풍제약에 돈을 넣었지만 제대로 의견을 교환해 본 적이 없기에 생각을 되집어볼 수 있는 계기가 될 수 있겠다 싶어 저의 신풍제약에 대한 생각 몇 자 적습니다. 설사 신풍제약이 하루아침에 폭락하더라도 글을 지우진 않을 테니 이 글을 공지로 올려 반면교사로 삼아 주....크흑 ㅠㅠㅠㅠ 신풍제약을 두고 여러 부정적 시선이 있죠. 7/24일부터 시작된 대폭락으로 인해 그런 시선은 확신으로 변했는데 제가 본 것 중 가장 인상 깊은 건 슈퍼개미 김정환의 유튜브였습니다. (굳이 보진 않으셔도 됩니다. 표정, 말투가 생생해서 링크했습니다.) https://youtu.be/sLD2lh2fw7U 7/24일 급하게 방송을 켜고 화를 냅니다. 신풍제약 재무제표를 보고 어이없어하시면서 이건 작전주고 지금 설겆이하는 단계에 너희 같은 불나방들이 타죽고 있다며.... https://youtu.be/V2cZ5Dybdlc?t=823 화가 안 풀렸는지 같은 날 또 하나의 동영상을 올렸는데, 신풍제약 같은 적자 회사가 코로나 치료제를 만들 리가 없다고, 이런 데는 쳐다도 보지 말아야 한다며 동영상 마지막에 근엄한 표정을 지으며 불나방들에게 일갈하십니다. "까불지 마시고, 항상 겸손하시고." 저는 슈퍼개미 선생님의 애정어린 질책을 가슴 깊이 새기고 대폭락의 마지막 3일째인 7/28일, 겸손한 단가에 진입했습니다.  시간이 흘러 현재에 이르렀죠.  전고점을 뚫고 위에서 놀아도 일단 마음을 정한 사람들의 시선은 바뀌지 않지요. 다만 섶을 지고 불구덩이에 뛰어든 입장에서 그 판단의 여러 계기 중 하나를 말씀드리면, 신풍제약이 최종적으로 실패하든 그 반대이든 읽으신 분들께 도움은 될 거라 생각합니다. 제가 신풍제약 주식을 대할 때 견지하는 시선은 아래의 문장으로 함축됩니다. "빌게이츠(MMV)가 피라맥스를 만들었는데 covid-19에도 유효함이 확인되어 빌게이츠(MMV)가 다시 임상에 들어갔다." Medicines for Malalia Venture(MMV)는 말라리아 퇴치를 위한, 스위스 소재의 비영리 재단입니다. 이곳의 가장 큰 후원처가 Gates Foundation이지요. 게이츠 재단은 여러분들도 알다시피 인류의 빈곤과 질병 퇴치에 힘을 쏟는 것으로 유명합니다. 신풍제약의 창업주인 장용택 회장의 회고록에 따르면 1999년 한 컨퍼런스에서 WHO로부터 항말라리아제를 만들어 보는게 어떻겠냐는 제안을 받은 게 피라맥스 개발의 시초라고 해요. 장회장이 오케이를 했고, WHO의 소개로 신풍제약과 만난 MMV는 말라리아 관련 데이터를 제공하여 아이오와 대학이 연구케 했고, 신풍제약은 연구결과를 기반으로 의약품 합성쪽에 주력했으며, 이렇게 만들어진 시제품으로 MMV가 7000만 달러를 들여 아이오와 대학과 함께 글로벌 임상을 진행했어요. 임상이 어느 정도 성공한 뒤 신풍제약은 피라맥스 전용 공장을 설립하여 판매를 하게 됩니다.  *신풍제약 피라맥스 영문 페이지에 게시된 '피라맥스 로드맵' https://shinpoong.co.kr/en/sub2/2_5.php  *반대로, MMV 홈페이지에 게시된, MMV의 지원을 받은 프로젝트들. 오른쪽 맨 아래가 신풍제약. 링크를 타고 신풍제약을 클릭하면 더 많은 정보를 볼 수 있습니다. https://www.mmv.org/research-development/mmv-supported-projects 이렇게 만들어진 신풍제약의 피라맥스는 'EMA(유럽의약청) 신약 등재, 우리나라 최초 WHO EML(필수의약품) Core List 및 STG(표준치료지침) 등재, 우리나라 최초 글로벌 임상 4상 완료, FDA 희귀의약품으로 지정'된 (제가 알기론 이런 타이틀을 가진 국내 개발 약이 없어요.), 기존 시장의 주류였던 노바티스 제약사 '코아템'의 단점과 내성을 극복하기 위해 개발된 차세대 말라리아 글로벌 신약입니다. 2012년 개발을 완료했고 그 뒤 한 해 한 해 지난한 과정을 거쳐 효능과 안전성을 인정받기 위해 위의 허가와 승인을 받고 있는 약이지요. 피라맥스의 특허권은 신풍제약에 있지만 당연히 MMV에도 일정 권리가 있어요. 양자 간의 정확한 계약 내용은 밝혀지지 않았지만 MMV의 전략을 미루어봤을 때, 우선 가격을 저렴하게 책정하게 강제하고, 말라리아 창궐 국가(인도, 중국 및 브라질 제외)에는 특허료를 제한 가격의 피라맥스를 일정 부분 공급할 것 등이 있지 않을까 추측합니다. 예를 들면 사하라 이남 아프리카는 사람들이 약값을 댈 형편이 여의치 않으므로 국가가 대량 구매하여 국민들에게 배포하는 공적조달시장이 70%, 사적 구매가 30% 정도의 비율로 파이가 나뉜다고 해요. Ltd. 라는 문구가 보이실 거예요. 피라맥스 승인에 부정적인 많은 분들의 생각처럼, 저 역시도 신풍제약이 남아공까지 가서 임상 2상을 진행할 역량이 되지 않는다고 생각해요. 돈이야 오른 주가로 어찌어찌 해본다 해도, 진행할 인력이 없어 국내 임상도 정부와 고려대(김우주 교수 포함) 및 여타 의대에 전적으로 부탁하는 실정인데 남아공 임상을 어찌 주도할 수 있겠어요. 아래 기사를 보시면 조그만 제약사가 생각에 없던 임상을 진행하는 데에 대한 어려움이 드러나 있어요. CTA가 예방과 치료제쪽이라면 코백스는 ACT-A의 백신쪽 파트예요. 선구매 계약 비용은 ACT-A 예산 35조의 일부가 되겠죠. (피라맥스도 사용 승인이 난다면 이런 방식으로 전 세계에 분배될 것 같네요.)  총 313억 달러의 예산이 필요한 거대 프로그램 ACT-A. 예산은 백신, 치료제, 진단키트로 분배됩니다. 치료제 예산 중 일부가 CTA로 가지요. 재미있는 것은 ACT-A의 창설에도 게이츠 재단이 깊숙히 관여했다는 거예요. ACT-A 지원 => CTA 지원 => MMV 피라맥스 남아공 임상 주관 =>Artemida Pharma(현지 임상 설계 및 관리. 임상계획서 연락처에 기재된 이 회사의 Sarah Arbe-Barnes 박사는 이전 피라맥스 임상에도 여러 번 참여하신 분) 빌 게이츠가 주도하는 이 거대 프로그램의 일환인 피라맥스 남아공 임상 앞에 신풍제약의 부족한 능력이나 작전주 얘기가 낄 자리는 없어요. 작전 세력이 MMV를 매수해서 남아공 임상을 진행시켰을까요? 신풍제약과 MMV가 합심해서 주가를 올리기 위해 약효도 없는 걸 임상할까요? 아니면 신풍제약은 매출액, per이 형편없으니 피라맥스가 빈정상해서 있던 약효를 사그러지게 할까요? 반대로 신풍제약이 돈과 능력이 있었으면 없던 약효를 조작해서 판매할 수 있을까요? 렘데시비르의 경우를 전 세계가 보았는데? 신풍제약이 대량으로 만들 능력이 없으니 약효가 입증되어도 탈락시킬까요? license out은 개나 줘 버리고? 상상은 무엇이든 가능하죠. 트럼프가 미국 치료제 우선 개발을 위해 피라맥스를 막을 수도 있고..... 이야기를 광화문 태극기 유튜브 댓글로 만들 필요는 없으니 이만 줄이죠.
