 오랜만에 본가에 내려와서 부모님과 시간을 보내다 이야기를 나누던 중 문득 물회 얘기가 나왔습니다. 지금껏 물회를 먹어본 횟수도 적고 제대로 된 물회를 먹어본 적도 없는 것 같네요. 그래서 오늘 부모님께 추천 받은 이 집을 찾아봤습니다. 연산역 5번 출구 나와서 첫번째 골목으로 들어가서 삼거리에서 왼쪽으로 꺾어서 왼쪽을 살펴보면서 걸으시다보면 포항물회라고 적힌 간판이 보일겁니다. 오전 11시30분 영업시작이라길래 시간 맞춰서 갔네요. 메뉴는 학꽁치 물회, 한치 물회, 가오리, 잡어 네 가지이며 12000-13000원 정도 가격대에 특은 다 15000입니다. 물회 한 사발과 밥 한공기 콩나물국 상추깻잎 밑반찬 약간 주네요. 비주얼은 보통 생각하는 물회와는 다릅니다. 애호박과 쪽파가 뒤덮고 있는 그릇을 열심히 밑의 회와 양념과 김과 다른 야채들과 함께 비벼놓고 보면, 사진에서 보시듯(초점이 안 맞네요 ㅠ) 오히려 회무침에 가까운 비주얼인데, 먹다보면 회나 야채의 수분인지 물이 제법 고입니다. 잘은 모릅니다만 물이 별로 없는 스타일이 부산식이라고 하네요. 맛은 확실히 있습니다. 사실 물회가 양념맛이라 거기서 거기일수도 있는데, 그 양념조차도 제대로 맛을 못내는 집들을 더러 봤거든요. 매콤달콤한 양념이 확실히 입맛 당기게 해주고 물회 특유의 시원한 느낌도 좋습니다. 부산에 자주 오는 게 아니라 언제 다시 올까 싶어 조금 무리를 해서 혼자서 대표 메뉴인 학꽁치와 한치를 둘다 맛봤네요. 양념과 어우러지는 생선의 감칠맛은 학꽁치가 좋고(겨울이 학꽁치철인가 그럴겁니다), 쫄깃쫄깃 씹는맛에 비중을 두고 싶으시면 한치가 좋습니다. 물에 밥을 말아먹기도 한다는데, 취향도 아니고 식당에서도 그냥 곁들여먹기를 권하고 있기에(특히 처음부터 밥 넣지 말라고 되어있더군요) 그냥 먹었습니다. 남은 야채랑 양념이랑 밥 비벼서 마무리 하기에도 확실히 좋은 것 같긴 하네요.
