오늘 정전 66년 만에 비무장지대에서 미국의 대통령과 북한의 지도자, 그리고 대한민국 대통령이 함께 만났습니다. 만나기 전 들려왔던 뉴스에 따르면 1년 2개월 전 남북정상회담에서 만난 자리에서 만날 수도 있고, 그 당시 문재인 대통령이 그랬던 것처럼 DMZ를 살짝 넘어 북한 땅을 밟을 수도 있다고 했는데 그 때를 연상시키는 모습들을 다시 생중계로 보게 되니까 감개무량합니다. 애초에 이 순간 성사된 만남은 길지 않은 만남일 것으로 예측되었습니다. '회담'보다는 '만남'이나 '상봉'이란 표현을 쓴 것만 봐도 김정은 위원장이 나왔다 한들 얼굴만 살짝 비추는 수준이고 실제로는 몇 마디 나누지 않는 이벤트로 볼 수 있었기 때문입니다. 설령, 김정은 위원장이 문재인 대통령, 트럼프 대통령과 같이 만나서 자유의 집에 들어가 짧든 길든 깊은 대화를 나눴다 해도 당장 대한민국의 안보 국면에 매우 엄청난 진전이 있지는 않을 거라고 보는 게 맞을지도 모릅니다. 과거 7.4 남북공동성명, 이산가족 상봉, 6.15 남북공동선언 등을 비롯한 여러 긍정적인 신호들이 있었지만 대한민국과 북한, 북한과 미국과의 관계는 항상 그래 왔기 때문이지요. 그럼에도 불구하고 저는 이런 만남이 이루어지는 것만으로도 매우 큰 의미가 있다고 보고 그만한 칭찬을 받을 일이라 생각합니다. 정전 66년 만에 비무장지대에서 미국의 대통령과 북한의 지도자가, 그리고 대한민국 대통령이 만난 것 만으로도 역사상 최초의 일이기 때문입니다. 오늘의 만남이 있기 약 1년 2개월 전 성사된 남북정상회담에 대해 한 언론사가 남북정상회담 성사에 대해 [文을 좋아하든, 싫어하든, 관심이 없든 2018년의 우리는 빚을 졌다] 라는 기사를 써서 칭찬했던 일이 생각납니다. https://news.v.daum.net/v/20180428170119240 '다만 2018년 4월 27일, 북측의 지도자가 처음으로 남측에 발을 디뎠던 때가 1953년 정전 협정 이후 한반도에 전쟁이 터질 가능성이 가장 낮았던 날이라는 것은 부인할 수 없다. 그리고 이를 가능하게 했던 것은 한반도 평화를 위해 고군분투했던 문 대통령의 개인기다. 2018년 한반도는 그에게 빚을 졌다.' 라는 기사 말미의 말처럼, 남북정상회담 이후 2018년의 한반도는 적어도 몇 년 전의 한반도보다는 훨씬 나은 상태가 된 것이 사실입니다. 그리고 1년 2개월 뒤인 오늘, 한국전쟁 이후 66년 만에, 미국의 대통령과 북한의 지도자, 그리고 대한민국 대통령이 DMZ에서 만나는 역사상 최초의 만남이 성사되었습니다. 어쩌면 1년 2개월 전 남북정상회담을 다룬 위의 기사 제목처럼, 문재인 대통령을 좋아하든, 싫어하든, 관심이 없든 2019년의 우리 역시 빚을 졌다고 해도 되지 않을까 싶습니다. 낯간지럽거나 오글거리는 말이라 하실지도 모르겠지만, 지금껏 이런 광경을 만들어 준 미국의 대통령과 북한의 지도자, 그리고 대한민국 대통령은 제 인생에도, 대한민국의 역사에도 없었으니 말입니다. - The xian - * Cascade님에 의해서 티타임 게시판으로부터 게시물 복사되었습니다 (2019-07-14 11:43) * 관리사유 : 추천게시판으로 복사합니다.
