* 이 글은 본래 저희 팀의 7월 촬영곡이었던 수수수 수퍼노바 대신 제 직권으로(??) Sticky 촬영을 먼저 하게 된 기쁨으로 쓴 것이 결코 아닙니다. * [이 글에서 밝힌 생각들은 제 촬영 경험을 바탕에 기인한 것이며, 따라서 내용 처음부터 끝까지 모두 틀렸을 가능성도 충분히 있습니다.] 키스오브 라이프에서 신곡이 나왔습니다. Sticky. 곡이 청량합니다. 딱 보는 순간 뮤직 비디오의 구성이 남다르게 보여서 매우 흥미롭게 여러 번 돌려봤는데요. 정말 훌륭하게 기획했고 성공적으로 선보인 결과물이라고 결론 내렸습니다. 그리고 곡을 #원테이크 촬영 잡담 컷 편집 영상은 비트감에 맞춰 탁탁 연출하는 화려한 맛이 있습니다. 반면 원테이크 영상은 화려한 맛은 덜할지라도 카메라가 계속 돌고 있기 때문에 카메라 프레이밍을 극대화 할 수 있습니다. 의외의 연출에서 이런 것도 돼? 하며 놀라움을 자아내고, 적재적소로 찔러주는 카메라의 묘기를 보는 맛이 제법 쏠쏠합니다. 평소 원테이크 영상을 즐겨 촬영하는 사람으로서, 원테이크는 쾌감을 불러옵니다. 내가 설정한 카메라 동선을 틀리지 않고, 프레이밍도 계획했던 만큼 적절히 맞춰서, 모든 타이밍을 딱딱 실수없이 해낸 뒤 외치는 오케이 소리는 절로 경쾌해질 수밖에 없어요. 하지만 댄서를 포함한 퍼포머들에게 원테이크는 매우 어려운 미션입니다. 마치 군대에서 PT체조의 마지막 구호를 생략하는 것마냥, 나만 안 틀리면 되는 게 아니고 다른 모두가 한 번도 실수하면 안 됩니다. 퍼포머와 카메라맨 모두에게 실수가 용납되지 않는 게 원테이크 영상이며, 상업 영상으로 가게 되면 더 말할 필요도 없습니다. 그래서 원테이크 촬영 때는 상대적으로 모험을 덜하게 됩니다. 짐벌을 좌우로 흔들 때(롤링) 카메라맨의 움직임이 격렬해지면 의도치 않게 어색할 만큼 카메라가 팍 꺾이기도 하는데, 그 움직임 한 번으로 전체 영상을 쓰지 못할 수 있으니 보통 짐벌의 자유이동(FPV) 모드를 끄고, 좌우와 상하 회전이 되는 팬&틸트 팔로우(PTF)는 켜두지만 꼭 필요할 때 외에는 아이레벨을 유지합니다. #Sticky는 원테이크를 계획했는가? 하지만 Sticky는 원테이크 영상은 아닙니다. 굳이 따지면 롱테이크 컷들을 몇 개 이어붙인 롱테이크 영상이라고 해야 할 것입니다. 최초에는 원테이크 영상을 고민했을 가능성도 엿보입니다. Sticky 뮤비에서는 플레이타임 2:51 동안 총 6컷이 사용되었는데요. 처음부터 00:43까지 01컷, 00:48까지 02컷, 01:22까지 03컷, 01:50까지 04컷, 02:10까지 05컷, 02:51까지 06컷입니다. (이후 컷 구분 소제목도 이것을 따릅니다) 그런데 뮤비의 몇 가지 장면에서 원테이크까진 아니라도 컷 수를 더 줄이기 위한 시도들이 발견됩니다. 예컨대 02컷은 01컷에서 쥴리를 뺀 나머지 세 멤버들이 뛰어간 장면에서 시작되고, 05컷은 02컷이 끝난 뒤 열심히 뛰어가던 나띠가 실내에서 춤을 추는 장면으로 연결되었기 때문입니다. 즉 최초에는 01컷에서 02컷까지 컷 없이 계속 이어졌고, 02컷 뒤에 나띠를 쫓아가는 장면을 따로 찍기는 했지만 자연스런 컷 전환을 위해 카메라를 붐업(카메라 자체를 수직으로 위로 올리는 것)하는 테이크도 별도로 촬영했고, 이것을 현재의 영상에 사용했을 가능성이 있습니다. 여하튼 연습 장소와는 다른 실제 촬영 장소에서의 동선 문제, 실내와 실외를 오가기 때문에 발생하는 노출 조절의 어려움, 퍼포머들의 반복적으로 실수할 수 있는 주요 구간을 확인하면서 당초 뮤비의 기획 목표까지 달성할 수 있는 최소 컷 수 등을 고려하며 롱테이크로 전환했고 편집 과정에서(혹은 B 또는 C플랜으로) 처음 계획보다 컷 수가 늘어났을 가능성까지 생각할 수 있습니다. #01컷 (00:00~00:43) 심신 따님이 13초를 꽉꽉 채우며 움직입니다. 그림자 방향과 길이로 보아 대략 오전 11시~정오 전후인 것으로 보입니다. 음원 15초 혹은 20초 정도 앞에 신호음을 배치하고 인터벌을 두었을 가능성이 있습니다. 00:24에 돌리아웃하며 롱샷으로 전환하기 위해 약간 디지털 줌한 느낌입니다. (무선으로 줌을 제어했을 수도 있고요.)  벨에서 하늘로 자연스럽게 카메라가 이동됐다가 키오프 멤버 전체가 등장한다. 01컷은 인트로라서 미디움샷 정도로 프레이밍하며 잔잔하게 시작됐다가 거의 익스트림 롱샷에 가까울 만큼 확 펼쳐지며 다양한 종류의 퍼포먼스가 어우러집니다. 자전거 스턴트, 텀블링, 나띠를 포함 담요(?)에 눕기 등. 그리고 00:31에서 열심히 뛰어간 쥴리는 00:40에서 여유롭게 자전거를 타는 모습으로 등장합니다.  달려라 쥴리!의 시작.  자전거에 이미 탑승해 있다. 하지만 이번 뜀박질은 전초전이었을 뿐이라고요. 이후의 컷도 마찬가지지만 01컷이 한 번만 촬영되었을 가능성은 거의 없습니다. 여러 차례 시도해보고 제일 문제 없었던 걸 고른 게 이번 컷이었을 텐데요. 옥에 티를 조금 골라 보면, 00:24에서 롱샷으로 전환된 후 군무를 출 때 키오프 멤버들의 타이밍이 조금 어그러집니다. 상업 영상에서 이 정도의 타이밍 엇갈림은 보통 용납되지 않는데, 이번 영상에서는 정말 부득이했다는 점이 이해되는 대목입니다.  이 부분. 키오프 멤버끼리도 칼 군무가 아니다. 그리고 00:27에 자전거 스턴트 맨이 조금은 힘겹게 끼어든 느낌입니다. 그렇게 판단한 이유는, 00:14에 이미 자전거 스턴트맨이 주위를 천천히 뱅글뱅글 돌며 타이밍을 재는 모습이 보이기 때문입니다. 스태프의 신호에 맞춰 들어가야 하는 관계로 빠르게 움직일 수는 없기 때문에 원래 계획했던 정도보단 템포가 좀 느린 게 아닌가 의심합니다.  주변을 맴돌던 자전거 스턴트 맨은  이 장면에서 화면 내에 진입하는데 움직임이 다소 굼뜨다. 00:32에서는 디테일 부분인데 나띠가 음료를 받지 못하고 넘어간 게 아닌가 싶습니다. 영상에서 금방 지나가는 부분이라 별로 어색하지는 않았지만요.  빨간 동그라미 부분 #02컷 (00:44~00:48) 가장 짧은 컷입니다. 자전거 맨의 움직임과 함께 컷이 트랜지션 됩니다. 자전거를 타고 있던 쥴리는 이 컷에서 보이지 않는데, 원래 01컷과 02컷을 한 컷으로 가려고 계획했다가 컷을 나눈 것처럼 보입니다.  02컷에서는 자전거에 타고 있던 쥴리를 빼고 나머지 세 멤버가 등장한다. 그리고 02컷이 끝날 때쯤 나띠가 안으로 열심히 뛰어가는데, 05컷의 실내에서 춤을 추는 장면으로 연결됩니다.  카메라가 붐업할 때 나띠가 뛰어가는 모습이 보인다. #03컷 (00:48~01:22) 나띠의 솔로 파트로 시작하는 컷입니다. 02컷의 간판 끝선을 경계로 컷이 나뉩니다.  간판의 윗끝선이 확실하게 보인다. 특기할 만한 점은 이번 컷은 익스트림 롱샷에서 미디움샷까지 접근하게 되는데, 난간을 넘는 과정에서 카메라맨이 바뀐 것 같습니다. 짐벌을 난간으로 넘기는 A와 넘겨진 짐벌을 전달받는 B가 있는 거죠. 난간 위로 넘겨진 순간부터 끼어드는 대략 3~4초 동안 B가 아래에서 바삐 달려와서 배턴 터치한 거죠.  몇 초간 카메라가 살짝씩 움찔움찔하는 게 느껴진다. 이런 촬영은 다른 곳에서도 간간히 응용되고 있는데요. 예컨대 A가 차 밖에서 왼쪽 차창을 통해 차 안의 B에게 카메라를 전달하고 다시 오른쪽 창 밖으로 C에게 카메라가 전달되면 신기하게도 카메라가 차를 뚫고 지나가는 것 같은 촬영이 됩니다. 대략 00:54 정도부터 카메라 밖에 위치해 있던 퍼포머들이 슬슬 움직이고 있다가 00:55부터 확 뛰어들기 시작합니다. 움직임에 역동성을 주고 공간감을 느낄 수 있도록 카메라가 패닝과 올빗(피사체를 중심으로 도는 기법)을 섞어 쓰는 게 인상적입니다.  쥴리 다시 뛰다! 00:58부터 01:02까지 개인 퍼포먼스를 뽐내던 쥴리는 01:04에 다시 뜁니다. 그리고 8초 동안 적어도 10m를 뛰고 12칸의 계단을 내려가서 포즈를 잡고 기다립니다.  그리고 벌써 여유롭게 포즈까지? #04컷 (01:22~01:50) 던져진 상의를 통해 컷이 전환됩니다. 던져진 상의의 시선에서? 바닥으로 떨어지면서 컷이 시작되는데요. 이번 컷에서는 프레이밍을 통한 키오프 멤버들의 카메라 아웃을 통해 롱테이크 촬영의 묘미가 잘 드러납다. - 나띠와 벨이 처음에 보이고 하늘이 뛰어옵니다. - 벨이 카메라 아웃되며 나띠에게 시선이 갔다가 하늘에게 시선이 옮아갑니다. - 그리고 갑자기 오른쪽으로 팬되며 카메라 아웃됐던 쥴리, 나띠, 벨 함께 춤을 추고, 하늘이 여유있게 끼어듭니다. - 이미 옥상에서 기다리고 있던 백업댄서들은 전 멤버의 합류와 함께 춤을 추기 시작합니다.  하늘 솔로 파트 때만 해도 굳건히 서 있던 옥상 위 백업 댄서들은,  키오프 전 멤버들과 함게 함께 흥겹게 춤을 춘다. 프레이밍이 정말 예쁘게 된 장면. - 04컷을 마무리 할 때쯤 어느 순간 벨은 카메라에서 벗어나 있습니다. #05컷 (01:50~02:10) 문을 열며 어두워지고 컷이 전환됩니다. 나띠의 솔로 파트로 시작되는데, 장소가 옮겨지며 극장 안으로 들어가니 04컷 마지막에서 카메라 아웃됐던 벨이 어느 순간 대기하고 있습니다. 컷 마무리에서 05컷 내내 보이지 않았던 쥴리와 하늘이 문을 열어젖힙니다.  패닝을 통한 나띠와 벨의 등장이 잘 표현된 장면 #06컷 (02:10~02:51) 쥴리와 하늘이 밖으로 뛰쳐나오며 컷이 시작됩니다. 그림자 방향으로 보아 대략 오후 4시 전후로 보입니다.  쥴리, 이젠 정말 빡세게 뛰다! 그래도 이번이 마지막이야. 02:15까지 쥴리의 솔로 파트가 보인 뒤 바로 벨 파트로 넘어가는데, 쥴리는 또 뛰어서 빠집니다. 쥴리의 이동 시간을 조금이라도 벌어주기 위해 카메라가 벨을 팔로우할 때, 출구를 나가기 직전까지 패닝을 극단적으로 줄이다가 분수 쪽으로 확 패닝하는 모습을 확인하실 수 있습니다. 이때까지 걸린 시간이 4초입니다.  마지막의 마지막까지 카메라가 벨을 잡으며 시간을 번다.  쥴리 혼자 대형에서 약간 동떨어져서 서있는 모습이 보인다. 02:19부터 광장에서 군무가 펼쳐집니다. 자연스럽게 벨이 합류하고 02:36부터 분수 안으로 들어가서 춤을 추게 되는데요. 카메라에 물이 튀는 장면이 인상적이죠.  어쩜 이렇게 좋은 위치에 물방울이 떨어졌을까. 여담인데 저는 이 분수 댄스 장면의 연출한 점이 대단하다고 느꼈습니다. 이렇게 카메라 렌즈에 물이 튈 가능성이 있을 땐 렌즈 앞에 투명 판을 대는데요. 리허설을 충분히 하고, 분수의 물이 분수의 경계를 넘어서 떨어지는 부분까지도 확인했겠지만 분수 물이 튀는 부분은 랜덤성이 짙거든요. 게다가 이 정도 다인원으로 40여 초 동안 촬영을 하려면 작은 실수만 있어도 쓰지 못하는데, 이런 변수를 감안하면서 촬영을 해낸 것이라, 집념의 성공이라고 봐도 되겠지요. 그렇게 카메라가 서서히 돌리아웃(똑바로 뒤로 물러나는 것)하면서 영상은 끝납니다. #달려라 쥴리! 이번 뮤비에서 단연 눈에 띄는 멤버는 쥴리입니다. 쥴리의 활약은 실로 눈부십니다. - 1컷 : 00:31에 뛴 뒤 9초만에 자전거를 타고 있으며, - 3컷 : 01:04에 뛰기 시작, 10m 이상을 뛰고 계단 12단을 8초만에 도착한 것도 모자라 계단 아래 누워서 포즈까지 여유롭게 취하게 있습니다. - 6컷 : 02:15에 뛰기 시작 분수 앞 광장에 4초만에 도착합니다. 그런데 이때는 시간이 너무 짧았는지 완전히 타이밍을 맞추지는 못해서 혼자만 대형 살짝 약간 앞에 있는 모습이 보입니다. 관심 갖고 유심히 살펴보시기 바랍니다. #마무리하며 01컷부터 06컷까지 그림자의 방향과 길이로 유추하건데 본 촬영은 대략 5시간 내외로 정리된 것 같은데요. 물론 전날쯤 사전 리허설을 어느 정도 했을 것이고 그 자료를 모니터링하며 세세한 동선 수정까지 마쳤겠지만, 불과 5시간 내외의 본촬영 시간만으로 이 정도의 완성도 높은 영상을 만들어냈다는 게 경이롭기도 합니다.  촬영 시점은 정확히 알 수 없지만 5월이라고 가정하고, 01컷 그림자와  06컷의 그림자의 길이와 방향을 보면 오후 4시 이후로 보인다. 다인원으로 시도하는 롱테이크/원테이크 촬영은 정말 어렵습니다. 예컨대 약 43초동안 이어지는 01컷을 보면, 00:26 군무에서 키오라 멤버들끼리도 춤추는 타이밍이 제각각입니다. 중간중간 텀블링이나 스턴트 자전거 등 타이밍에 맞춰 끼어드는 게 상당히 많은데 모두 실수없이 돌아가면서 군무까지 잘 보여줘야 되는 거라 촬영한 여러 테이크 중 이게 최선이었을 거라고 짐작되더라고요. 당연하겠지만 이런 정도 규모의 원테이크 영상을 촬영하기 위해선 많은 스태프가 동원됩니다. 키오프 멤버들을 위주로 퍼포머에게 집중하고 있는 카메라맨 외에도, 촬영 보조가 카메라맨이 급격하게 더 나가지 않도록, 필요 이상으로 뒤로 물러나지 않도록, 적절하게 팬 또는 틸트하는 타이밍 등에 신호를 줍니다. 또 키오프 멤버를 포함, 백업 댄서나 자전거 스턴트 등이 적절하게 끼어들 수 있도록 지시하는 사람, 무선 모니터를 통해 카메라맨의 움직임을 체크하며 의도했던 무빙이 나오고 있는지, 헤어 메이크업에는 문제가 없는지 등등을 체크하는 사람 등 정말 많은 인원이 붙습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 모든 장면을 매번 완벽하게 촬영하기는 너무 어렵기 때문에 중간중간 디지털 줌으로 프레이밍을 맞춰준 부분들이 있습니다. 예를 들어 01컷의 1테이크에서 잘 됐던 부분이 2테이크에서 잘 되리라는 법은 어디에도 없기 때문에... 마지막으로 영상은 대략 24mm 정도의 화각으로 촬영된 것 같은데(촬영 후 약간 스태빌라이징 정도는 해줬을 것 같습니다), 단일 화각으로 이렇게 다채롭게 프레이밍하면서 영상을 만들어낼 수 있다는 점이 제 입장에서만 솔직히 말하면 정말 부럽습니다. 이상으로 키오프의 Sticky 뮤비 리뷰글을 마칩니다. 대단치도 않은 글을 너무 길게만 쓴 게 아닌가 싶은데 읽어주셔서 감사합니다. * Cascade님에 의해서 티타임 게시판으로부터 게시물 복사되었습니다 (2024-07-09 21:35) * 관리사유 : 추천게시판으로 복사합니다.
