안녕하세요 *alchemist*입니다 봄이 오면서 꽃들도 많이 피어나고 사람들이 나들이도 많이 다니고 예쁜 장면들 남기려고 사진도 많이 찍게 되는 것 같습니다. 그리고 코로나19에서 벗어난지 그리 오래된 게 아닌지라... 뭔가 새로운 느낌으로 외부 나들이를 나가게 되는것 같습니다. 저만해도 뭔가 가벼운 느낌으로 주말 나들이를 즐기게 되었구요. 아무튼 그래서 그런지 시국(?)의 유행(?)을 타고 인스타그램에 "(스마트폰으로)인생 사진 찍는 꿀팁!" 이런 릴스들이 엄청 보이더라구요. 이런 릴스들 보다보면... 대~~~충 공통점이 보입니다. 하지만 이런 공통점에 대해서.. 그러니까 어떤 점들 때문에 그런 것들이 꿀팁이 되는지에 대해 설명하는 글이나 영상, 릴스들은 전혀 없더라구요(뭐 어떻게 생각해보면 당연한 일이지만요...) 그래서 그런 것들에 대해서 왜 그것이 꿀팁이 되는지 설명하는 글을 써보려고 합니다. 글 적다보면 저도 까먹고 있던 사진 찍는 방법에 대한 리마인드가 되기에 좋을거 같구요. 그리고 원리를 알게 되면 단순한 팁만 알게 되는 게 아니라 그걸 응용할 수 있는 힘도 생기게 되거든요. 다만, 문제는 릴스나 특정 채널에 대한 홍보가 될 수 있기 때문에 예시는 하나도 안 들 생각이라는 겁니다... ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ; 예시 없는 사진찍는 꿀팁 해석이라니... ㅡ.ㅡ;; 이게 뭔 말인걸까요. 말이야 방구야.. 하지만 릴스는 찾아보시면 있으니 찾아보시고 혹시 제가 설명안한 부분들 이야기해주시면 그 부분의 원리에 대해서 설명을 해드릴 수는 있을 것 같습니다... ㅎㅎ 릴스는 직접 찾아보십시오?! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ; 그러면 해석 들어갑니다~ [1-1. 시선 낯설게 하기] 저런 류의 릴스에 보시면 보~~~통 맨 처음에 "뒤로 쭉 물러나서 망원렌즈로 바꾼 다음에 핸드폰을 바닥에 거의 놓듯이 두고" 찍으라는 내용이 나옵니다. 여기서 짚고 가고 싶은 부분은 [핸드폰을 바닥에 거의 놓듯이 두고] 입니다. 이게 바로 [시선 낯설게 하기]입니다. 시선을 낯설게 하는 것이 왜 중요하냐면... 우리나라 기준 성인들의 키는 대충 150~190cm 사이에 분포하고 있습니다. 그말인즉슨성인들의 경우라면 저 높이에서 보는 시선에 [익숙하다]는 겁니다. 익숙하다는 점은 편안하기는 하지만 진부하고 새롭지 못할 수 있습니다. 다시 말해 저 높이에서 흔히 우리가 스마트폰을 들고 사진을 찍는 그 높이는 우리가 평상시에 생활하면서 누구나 보고 있는 시선의 높이라는 점입니다. 그런 높이에서 사진을 찍는다면? 익숙한만큼 파격적이지 못하고 그에 걸맞게 사람의 눈을 끄는 요소는 아무래도 적어질 수 밖에 없게 될 것입니다. 사진이 진부해지는 것이죠 그런 점을 타파하려면? 어떻게 해야 할까요? 간단하지요. [시선의 높이]를 바꾸면 됩니다. 사진책에 나와있는 이야기들을 따르면 시선을 낮게 두고 피사체를 위로 보면서 찍거나(로우 앵글) 시선을 높게 두고 피사체를 아래로 보면서 찍거나(하이 앵글) 하는 방법이 있을테고 이것도 제일 높음~제일 낮음까지 중간에 많은 바리에이션들이 있게 되겠지요. 재미있는 사진이 나올 수 있는 높이나 좌우를 찾아서 찍어내면 됩니다. 그래서 아이들이 찍는 사진이 신선해보이는 게 이미 키가 커버린 우리는 볼 수 없는 시선에서 본 사진이기 때문입니다. 이런 신선한 사진을 찍기 위해서는...? 찍사가 바닥에 구르거나 사다리를 통해서 위로 올라가거나 하면서 다양한 시선을 경험해보면 됩니다 :) 어렵지 않습니다. 그렇지요? [1-2. (구도가 아닌) 프레이밍] 구도는... 음... 이건 언어적인 부분이라 제가 찾아본 게 틀릴 수도 있습니다만(지적 감사합니다 ㅎㅎ) 영어로는 composition 이더라구요. 어떻게 보면 구성이라는 말로 볼 수도 있을텐데요. 정물이나 스튜디오 인물 사진의 경우는 원하는 대로 주위의 피사체들을 새로 구성할 수 있지만 외부에서 인물 사진을 찍을 때 인물 외의 외부 피사체들은 그렇게 못하는 경우가 대부분입니다.(사진 찍겠다고 나무를 움직일 순 없지요...) 그렇기 때문에 주어진 환경에서 화면을 구성할 줄 알아야 할테고 저는 그게 "프레이밍"이라고 봅니다. 그러면 프레이밍이라는건 대체 뭘까요? 저는 "프레이밍"을 이렇게 정의하고 싶습니다. [연속적으로 이어져 있는 풍경에서 카메라와 렌즈를 통해 내가 일정 부분을 떼어내는 것]이라고 말이지요. 구도는 내가 의도를 가지고 배치하여 구성할 수 있는 것이지만 프레이밍은 내가 의도를 가지고 큰 전체에서 떼어낸 부분이라고 말이지요. 그걸 생각해보신다면 구도와 프레이밍은 다르다는 제 이야기가 어느정도 이해가 되실것 같습니다 :) 릴스로 돌아가보면 "뒤로 쭉 물러나서 망원렌즈로 바꾼 다음에 핸드폰을 바닥에 거의 놓듯이 두고"에서 [망원 렌즈로 바꾼 다음에]가 여기에 적용이 됩니다. 망원 렌즈로 바꾸게 되면 어떤 효과가 발생할까요? 화각이 좁아집니다. 화각이 좁아진다는 이야기는? 화면에 담기는 화면의 시직경이 좁아진다는 이야기입니다. 시직경이 좁아지게 되면? 한 화면에 담을 수 있는 내용들이 적어지겠지요. 그러면 어떻게 될까요? 화면에 들어가는 피사체들의 수가 줄어들게 됩니다. 화면이 정돈될 수 있는 요건이 만들어지는 것이지요. 그러면서 전체 풍경에서 카메라를 통해 [떼어낼 수 있는] 부분의 크기가 작아지게 됩니다. 이러면 화면을 정리하는 빼기(이건 아래에서 이야기할 겁니다)도 쉬워지고 프레이밍 하기도 한껏 간결해지게 됩니다. 왜 망원렌즈를 쓰라고 하는지 이해가 되시지요? :) 또 다른 이유는 2번에서 다룰겁니다 :) [1-3. (화면에서) 빼기, 주제와 부제] 저....가 아니라 유명한 사진가분들이 항상 이야기 했습니다. 사진은 "빼기의 예술"이라고 말이지요. 그말인 즉슨 화면에서 최대한 빠지고 빼야하는 부분들을 알고 빼버려야 좋은 사진이 나온다는 이야기입니다. '피사체가 있어야 하는거 아니야?' 라고 생각 하실 수 있지만 이말은 피사체를 다 빼라는 게 아니라(다 뺄수도 없지만) 주로 표현하고자 하는 피사체와 그 피사체를 도와줄 수 있는 보조 피사체 외에는 최대한 화면에서 빼라는 이야기입니다. 난잡한 구성은 사진을 난삽하게 만들고 표현하고자 하는 것이 어떤 것인지 모르게 만들지요. 릴스 꿀팁에서 "꽃들 앞에 사람을 세우지 말고 꽃들 뒤에 사람을 세운다음 카메라는 바닥에 둔다음 최대한 주변에 꽃이 아닌 다른 피사체가 나오지 않게 하고 사람 얼굴에 초점을 맞추고 노출을 올린 다음 찍어라' 라고 합니다. 여기서 [카메라는 바닥에 둔 다음 최대한 주변에 꽃이 아닌 다른 피사체가 나오지 않게 하고 사람 얼굴에 초점을 맞추고]가 ["빼기"]입니다. 이게 왜 빼기가 되냐하면... 카메라가 바닥에 가게 되면 시선 낯설기의 효과도 있지만 올려다보는 효과도 생기게 됩니다. 우리가 일상적으로 보는 높이에서 그냥 사진을 찍으면 다른 사람이나 나무, 주차장, 차량 등등등 다른 피사체들도 걸리게 됩니다. 하지만 바닥에 놓게 되면 그런 다른 피사체들이 화면에 들어오는 것을 것을 피할 수 있게 됩니다. 의도적인 프레이밍이 되는 것이지요. 그러면 바닥에 피어난 꽃, 우리가 찍어야 하는 인물, 그리고 하늘에 핀 꽃(나무에 핀 꽃이 되겠죠?)외에는 화면에서 사라지게 됩니다. 그러면 아무래도 우리가 찍어야 하는 인물과 꽃에 더 집중이 되겠지요? 그것이 빼기의 미학입니다. 그리고 릴스 꿀팁에서 "꽃들 앞에 사람을 세우지 말고 꽃들 뒤에 사람을 세우고 카메라는 바닥에 둔다음 사람 얼굴에 초점을 맞추고 노출을 올린 다음 찍어라' 라고 합니다. 여기서 [꽃들 뒤에 사람을 세우고]가 주제와 부제와 관한 이야기입니다. 프레이밍을 할 때 주제만 담으면 재미가 없습니다. 물론 사람 자체가 주가 되는 패션사진이나 아이돌 사진에서는 사람만 놓고 찍어도 충분히 재미 있습니다만 우리가 지금 살펴보는 건 그런게 아니라 꽃과 사람을 한꺼번에 찍는 겁니다. [꽃 뒤에 사람을 두고 시선을 낮게 한 다음 사람에 초점을 맞추게] 되면 어떤 일이 벌어질까요? 아마 화면에는 꽃이 가득차 있지만초점이 맞지 않아 약간 흐리게 표현이 되면서 꽃이라는 존재는 인식하되 명확하게 초점이 맞아 보이지는 않지만 그 뒤에 사람이 있어서 사람과 꽃이 같이 표현됩니다. 화면 전체를 보면 사람은 선명하게 표현이 되고 꽃은 처음에는 흐리다가 사람과 가까워질 수록 선명하게 꽃과 사람이 같이 표현이 되겠지요? 그리고 뒤에는 선명한 파란색 하늘이 배경이 될테구요 이런 식으로 내가 표현하고자 하는 주제를 부각시키는 [부제]를 화면안에 포함시키는 것이 좋은 프레이밍입니다. 그래서 릴스에서는 꽃이라는 부제를 통해 인물이라는 주제를 부각시키라고 하는 것입니다 :) [1-4. 3분할] 릴스에서도 대 놓고 이야기합니다. 3분할 선을 핸드폰 세팅에서 화면에 보이게 한 다음 다음 거기다 놓고 찍으라고요. 이건 뭐.. 너무 유명한 이야기지이요. 가로 세로 3분할 선을 긋고 거기에 주요 피사체를 위치 시켜라. 피사체가 인물이라면 인물의 시선 방향에 여백을 두어서 사진이 답답하지 않게 해라. 인물의 머리는 총 9개의 점 중 위쪽 1,2,3번 점에(삼분할선의 교차점을 왼쪽 위부터 1,2,3/4,5,6/7,8,9라고 표현한다면 말이지요) 두어라 라고 말이지요. 뭐 물론 어떤 사진책을 뒤져보아도 나올만큼 유명한 이야기인지라 따르시면 일단 사진의 기본적인 구성은 보장이 됩니다. 다만.. 저는 그것조차 좀 재미없는 경우들이 좀 있어서리.. 의도적으로 3분할을 조금씩 깨버리거나(그 선에 딱 안 맞게 놓고 그럽니다) 일부러 화면의 중앙에 위치시키거나 하는 경우들이 있습니다. 이건 팁을 따르시되 상황에 따라서 조금씩 변형해 보시는 것도 사진찍는 재미일 것으로 생각됩니다 :) [2. 렌즈의 원경,근경 압축효과] 이건 릴스에서 설명하는 "뒤로 쭉 물러나서 망원렌즈로 바꾼 다음에 핸드폰을 바닥에 거의 놓듯이 두고"에서 [망원렌즈]에 해당하는 부분입니다. 스마트폰의 렌즈는 카메라 대비해서.. 초점거리가 짧기 때문에 사실 대포렌즈라 알려진 대구경 망원렌즈의 배경 압축효과에 비할 바는 아닙니다만.. 아무튼 그래도 같은 스마트폰에 탑재된 광각 렌즈에 대비해서는 상대적으로 배경 압축 효과를 가지고 있습니다. 광각, 망원의 차이는 단순히 시직경에 따라 담기는 화면의 정보량에만(=화면이 얼마나 넓으냐 좁으냐) 차이가 생기는 것이 아니라 원근감이 얼마나 더 쎄게 생기거나 약하게 생기느냐에 따라 [피사체와 뒤의 배경간의 거리감]에도 차이가 나게 됩니다. [광각]은 [원근감을 강조]합니다. 그래서 광각렌즈로로 찍은 셀카는 코에 초점이 맞게 된다면 코보다 뒤에 위치한 얼굴의 다른 부분들. 턱이나 목등은 원근감이 강조되어 실제 더 뒤로 심하게 멀리 간 것처럼 표현이 되지요. 예전에 셀카... 하두리... ㅋㅋㅋ; 아무튼 그런 광각 캠으로 찍을 때 캠을 위에 두고 턱을 최대한 당겨서 찍은 사진들... 으르신들은 다 있을겁니다 ㅡ.,ㅡ; 그 이유가 턱이 멀리 표현되면서 턱이 얄쌍하게 표현되면... 턱은 계속해서 인체에서 발달하는 부분이라 어릴 때 대비해서 계속 커지게 된다고 합니다. 턱이 얄쌍하게 표현되면 상대적으로 어리게 보이게 되는 것이지요. 그런 식으로 셀카를 찍으면 나이 대비 동안으로 보일 수 있게 됩니다. 반대로 [망원]은 [압축효과]가 생기게 됩니다. 그래서 망원렌즈로 찍은 인물 사진은 코에 초점이 맞게 된다면 턱이나 목 등이 광각렌즈 대비 앞으로 튀어나와 보이게 됩니다. 뒤에 있는 부분들이 앞으로 튀어나오면서 상대적으로 압축이 되어 보이는 것이지요. 그러면 광각렌즈보다는 인물이 평면적으로 보이게 됩니다. 연예인들이 조금만 몸이 붓거나 해도 심하게 부운 것처럼 보이고 살이 찐 것처럼 보이는 게 이 망원레즈 압축효과의 부작용이기도 합니다. 실제로 보면 거의 안 그런데 렌즈를 통해 찍힌 이미지는 그렇게 표현이 되는 것이지요. 아무튼 망원으로 찍게 되면 그렇게 배경압축 효과를 누릴 수 있게 됩니다. 그러면 우리가 보는 릴스에서의 상황이라면 어떻게 될까요? 인물 뒤에 있는 꽃들이 광각렌즈보다 상대적으로 인물뒤에 가깝게 있는 것처럼 이미지에는 표현이 됩니다. 좀 더 풍성하게 꽃들이 화면내에 표현이 될 수 있는 것이지요. 인물 앞에 있는 꽃들도 상대적으로 인물에 가깝게 있는 것처럼 표현이 되니 인물 앞뒤로 꽃이 풍성하게 있게 되겠네요 :) 우리의 목적인 인물과 꽃을 한 화면에 풍성하게 담게 되는 목적에 딱! 맞게 됩니다. 다만 망원렌즈를 쓰기 위해 어느정도 발줌은 하셔야 합니다. 좀 멀리서 찍는 수고는 필요하고 그런 각도가 안 나오는 공간이라면.. 어쩔 수 없습니다. 광각으로 잘 프레이밍 하거나 아예 포기하거나.. 하는 것도 방법입니다. :) [3. 노출 보정] 일반적인 스마트폰 카메라는 측광을 하고 조리개와 셔터스피드를 스스로 알아서 조절하게 됩니다. 이 떄 준거가 되는 정도가 [18% 그레이]입니다. 즉 다시 말해 전체 화면을 측광을 해보고는 프로그램이 판단을 하는 겁니다. 화면안에 잡히는 모든 빛과 어둠을 합하게 되면 18%의 회색으로 되게 말이지요. 일상적인 경우에는 크게 문제가 안됩니다만 주변이 너무 밝거나 주변이 너무 어두운 경우는 문제가 됩니다. 주변이 너무 밝으면 카메라는 18%의 회색에 맞추기 위해 전체적으로 사진의 톤을 낮추게 됩니다. 인물이 어둡게 표현되겠지요. 너무 어두운 경우는 반대로 전체적으로 사진의 톤을 높이게 됩니다. 인물은 밝게 표현될 수 있겠지만 흔들림 같은 것들이 발생할 수 있겠지요 그걸 해결하기 위해서는 (적정 셔터 스피드라는 가정하에) [노출을 조정하면 됩니다] 이런 이야기들이 릴스에서 나오는 상황은 보통 역광에 꽃들이 빛나는데 인물을 그 앞에 두고 찍거나 윤슬이 빛나는 상황에서 인물을 찍거나 하는 상황입니다. 역광에 꽃이 빛나고 있는데 18% 회색에 맞추게 되면.. 인물이 칙칙하게 표현이 됩니다. 그러면 노출을 올려서 인물을 뽀샤시하게 표현해줘야겠지요! 근데..생각해보니.. 윤슬이 빛나는 건 오히려 노출을 낮춰서 실루엣으로 표현하는 방법도 있네요. 윤슬의 경우는 윤슬을 찍어서 노출을 올려서 윤슬의 반짝함을 담아내는 릴스.. 였던 거 같습니다. 아무튼 ㅎㅎ; 적절한 노출보정은 피사체의 상태를 원하는대로 표현할 수 있게 해주는 좋은 방법입니다. 이렇게 대충... 릴스에서 봤던 꿀팁들이 왜 그렇게 되는 것인지 원리를 알아보았습니다. 저런 점들에 대해서 공부 하신 분들이시라면 응용이 가능하실 거고.. 아니면 저런 꿀팁들을 따라 해보시면서 제가 이야기 드린 부분들을 바탕으로 내용들을 찾아보시면서 공부해보신다면 좀 더 재미나고 흥미로운 사진을 찍어보실 수 있을 것 같습니다. 보통 릴스 같은 것들 잘 안 보고 넘기고 특히 저런 사진의 꿀팁류는 저는... 특히 더 잘 안 보는 편인데 오랜만에 저런 것들 보면서 저도 잊고 지내고 이제는 관성적으로 찍어대곤 했던 사진에 대해 '아 저런 게 있었지'나 '저렇게 하면 확실히 효과적이지'나 '이건 너무 쉬운데?'나 '오. 이건 나도 까먹고 있었는데 응용하면 좋겠다' 등등 사진에 대한 많은 생각을 하면서 이것저것 시도를 해볼 수 있겠구나.. 하는 유인이 되었습니다. 그런 유인에 대한 것들이 머릿속에 뱅뱅 맴돌길래 저도 정리하는 겸... 사진에 대해 리마인드 하는 겸... 글을 써봤습니다. 예시가 있으면 더 좋겠습니다만 ^^; 저는 뭐 릴스나 채널 홍보할 것도 없고 그런데 홍보한다고 말 듣는 것도 귀찮고 해서 그냥 글로만 적어보았습니다. 혹시 궁금하신 점이나 이런 게 있다면 리플 달아주시면 아는 한도 내에서는 성심성의껏... 답변하겠습니다 그럼 좋은 하루 되셔요 :) * Cascade님에 의해서 티타임 게시판으로부터 게시물 복사되었습니다 (2024-05-06 16:53) * 관리사유 : 추천게시판으로 복사합니다.
