 턴제 전략 시뮬레이션, 피지알에서 나이를 제법 드신 게이머들이라면 과거 창세기전 시리즈를 경험하기도 했을 것이고 삼국지 조조전을 플레이 하시기도 했을겁니다. 저도 그것에 예외는 되지 않아서 창세기전을 여러번 플레이했었고 삼국지 조조전 시리즈는 여러 모드까지 찾아서 플레이 했을 정도로 이러한 장르를 즐기는 스타일이죠. 이 게임에 빠져들 수 밖에 없는 것은 필연이었을지도 모릅니다. 사실 한동안 게임 불감증에 걸렸었는데 인생의 절반.... 정도는 아니더라도 뭐 할 게임 없나 하면서 한참 스팀 라이브러리를 뒤적거리고 이런저런 게임 탐색하던 시간 정도는 손해본게 맞는 것 같네요 크크 예전에 피지알 유게에서도 본 이야기인데 어떤 용어인지 정확히 기억은 안나지만 출시 후 시간이 꽤 지난 컨텐츠들, 게임이든 영화든 출시/발매/개봉 이후 몇년 이후에 천천히 컨텐츠들을 접하면서 즐기는 사람들이 늘어나고 있다는 이야기를 접한 적이 있습니다. 요즘 제가 그러고 있네요. 엑스컴 2는 발매가 2016년으로 이미 6년이나 지난 게임이고 그 확장팩인 선택된 자의 전쟁도 2017년 여름에 나왔으니 최신게임 타이틀은 이미 오래 전에 벗겨진 게임이라고 봐야죠. 저는 바이오쇼크 같은 공포 FPS 같은 것을 거르는 편인데 아무것도 모르고 이 엑스컴 시리즈도 그런 게임이라고 생각을 해서 이 게임의 정체성 자체를 모르고 있었습니다. 이런 게임인줄 알았으면 진작에 했을텐데! 진짜 인생 손해봤네. 대신에 많은 분들이 그때 즐기던 느낌들을 지금이라도 뒤늦게 즐기며 게임을 플레이하고 있네요. 싱글 게임들은 이래서 참 좋습니다.  엑스컴 2 이전에 엑스컴 리부트 1, 즉 에너미 시리즈를 먼저 플레이 한 후 2로 넘어왔습니다. 에너미 위드인을 플레이할 때는 '야 이 게임 꽤 괜찮네'라는 감상이었다면 2에서는 정신없이 게임을 플레이하느라 그런 고찰 과정을 그냥 건너뛸 만큼 몰입도가 뛰어나고 완성도도 더 훌륭한 게임이 된 것 같네요. 저는 엑스컴 에너미 위드인에서는 클래식 철인까지 클리어하고 2로 넘어왔습니다. 에너미 시리즈는 난이도에 따라 외계인들 명중률 자체가 달라지는데 그 게임도 여러번 플레이 했지만 거기서 임파서블 난이도를 철인 모드로 플레이할 자신은 도저히 안나오네요. 그 명중률 난이도로 전조 미션에서 씬맨을 때려잡으라고...? 기계적인 중화기병 로켓 공략이 아니면 참 괴로울텐데 싶고요. 롱워를 할까 2를 할까 하다가 롱워를 먼저 했었는데 너무 복잡하고 볼륨이 큰 것 같아서 초중반 플레이하다가 2를 찍먹해보는 쪽으로 가닥을 잡았었습니다. 그러다가 찍먹이 아니라 결국 한사발 들이키고 있네요. 이제는 되돌아가기 늦었읍니다...  인정사정 없는 난이도 구분과 찰나의 실수도 용납하지 못하게 하는 철인 모드의 존재는 이 게임에 대한 긴장감을 다회차 플레이에서도 계속 유지할 수 있게 해줍니다. 요즘 개인적인 지론으로 '게임은 아무 것도 모를 때 혼자서 이것저것 뜯어보는 것이 가장 재미있다'라는 방침을 가지고 가면서 몇번 틀어막힐 때까지 공략이라는 것을 아예 배제하고 게임을 즐기곤 하는데, 이 게임이 그런 쪽으로 참 만만치 않은 게임이더라구요. 결국 여러번 틀어막히면서 관련 공략들을 접하고 게임을 플레이하게 되곤 했지만 그 이전 삽질을 하던 여러 시도들도 참 즐거웠습니다. 특히 전설 난이도로 플레이하니까 그러더군요. 사령관 때처럼 느긋하게 플레이하다가 보복 미션 뮤톤 나올 때 우수수 쓸리고, 그 다음 회차에서는 철저히 대비해서 뮤톤 넘겼더니 버서커 때 전자기 무기 테크 제대로 못탔다가 우수수 썰리고... 사령관 때는 체감 못했는데 아르콘 이 녀석이 이렇게 때려잡기 어려운 놈이었나 싶고. 뮤톤, 버서커 잘 넘겼다 싶으니까 안드로메돈 하나에 대원 5명이 쩔쩔매며 쓸려나가고 그 다음 게이트키퍼가 다 정리하는... 아직도 참 어려운 게임입니다. 아 그러고보니 저는 외계인 사냥꾼 DLC는 아예 제거했고 사이오닉 병사 육성도 아예 배제하고 플레이합니다. 그리고 복제 신호기 같은 사기템도 이용하지 않습니다. 이래저래 게임을 합리적으로 즐기는 것에 방해가 많이 되는 요소들인 것 같더라구요.  게임 자체의 완성도, 방향성, 볼륨, 그리고 앞으로의 후속작 가능성까지 여러모로 참 마음에 드는 게임 시리즈가 아닐까 싶어요. 아직 접하지 않으신 분들 중 턴제 전략 시뮬레이션에 익숙하신 분들이라면 한번쯤 플레이해보시는걸 추천합니다. 저는 사령관 난이도를 철인 모드로 클리어하고 이제 전설 철인을 시도하고 있습니다. 몇번 갈아엎고 있네요. 사실 난이도도 난이도지만 여차하면 꼼수로 철인모드를 파훼하려는 본인 의지와의 싸움이 아닐까 싶을 정도... 현타와서 양심적으로 지구를 여러번 갈아치웠습니다.   엑스컴 2 시리즈의 꽃은 모드 아니겠습니까. 저는 게임을 아예 들어엎는게 아닌 이상 제작자들의 의도(즉 바닐라)로 게임을 플레이하는게 맞다고 생각을 하지만 이 게임은 정체성 자체가 모드질입니다. 애초에 안그러다가 롱워보고 께달음을 얻어 유저들에게 모드를 활짝 열어준 게임 아니겠습니까. 굳이 마개조를 하지 않더라도 이 게임은 기본적인 인터페이스 구성부터 모드의 강력한 힘이 바로바로 느껴지는 게임이니 굳이 바닐라를 고집하며 게임을 플레이하는 것을 추천드리지는 않습니다. 밸런스를 건드리지 않고 편의성 개선 위주로 모드를 깔아도 수십가지의 모드들이 널려 있으니까요. 하나두개 깔다보니 제가 엑스컴 시리즈에 깐 모드가 40개 가까이 되네요. 개인적으로 밸런스에 영향을 주는 모드를 극도로 피하는 편인데 그래도 이렇게나 쌓여있는걸 체크하고 스스로도 참 놀랐습니다. 내가 언제 40개나 깔았지... 제가 구독한 모드들입니다. 자잘한 버그 수정 모드 True retroactive AWC Tower Detection Fix [WOTC] [WOTC] Surgical SitRep Fix 상황보고 소수 정예 분대 수정 모드. 시스템적으로 3명만 출격할 수 있는 게릴라 작전인데 정작 외계인/어드밴트 포드 조정은 전혀 안되어 있다는.... 적들 숫자도 줄어든다고 명시해놓고는 정작 게임에는 적용이 안되었다네요. 이걸 깔면 적들 숫자가 확실히 절반 정도로 줄어듭니다. 그래도 소수 정예 분대 미션에 함부로 도전하지는 마세요. 한번 깨고 자신감에 차서 또 출격했다가 템플러, 리퍼 다 전사시키고 돌격병 하나 살아온 경험이 있습니다... 인터페이스 개선 모드 [WOTC] Quick Soldier Info [WOTC] New Target Icons [WOTC] Additional Icons [WOTC] Cost-Based Ability Colors WotC: robojumper's Squad Select [WotC] Mod Config Menu [WOTC] Detailed Soldier Lists Redux WotC: Color Coded Bonds [WOTC] Hours Instead of Days Upcoming Events [WotC] [WOTC] Community Promotion Screen Yet Another F1 Disable Reaper Overlay (and other effects) - Wotc Stop Wasting My Time - WotC Quicker Reload - wotc [WOTC]Korean Mod Translation2 WOTC - Extended Information! Commanders Choice [WOTC & Vanilla] 신병에서 일병으로 진급할 때 병과를 선택할 수 있게 해주는 모드입니다. 초반 게임 플레이에 분명히 큰 영향이 있습니다. 나중에는 게릴라 전술 학교에서 병과를 지정해줄 수 있지만 저는 자동으로 병과가 배정되는 초반에 그냥 어울리지 않는 병사들에게 어울리지 않는 병과 배정되는게 너무 짜증나서 그냥 깔았습니다. 우락부락한 남성 대원이 특수병에 배정되고 여성 대원이 척탄병으로 배정되면 몰입이 참 안되요. [WOTC] Free Reload Anytime 자동 장전기를 총기에 부착하면 장전을 자동으로 전부 완료하기까지는 일반 장전이 불가한데 그것을 가능케 해주는 모드입니다. 이러면 자동 장전기의 효용성이 더욱 커지죠. Simple True Concealment 잠행 시 턴이 흘러가지 않게 해주는 모드입니다. 이거 저항군 카드로도 있죠. 엑스컴 2는 턴이 매우 빡빡하다 느껴서 처음에는 콘솔 치트로 매번 저항군 카드 추가시키다가 그냥 맘편하게 모드 깔았습니다. 로스트도 나오고 선택된 자도 튀어나오는데 턴 제한을 버티는게 쉽지는 않더군요. 특히 전설 난이도에서 추락한 UFO 맵은 적군에게 발견된 이후부터 4턴 안에 UFO 내부에 진입해서 가동을 멈춰야 되는데 솔직히 너무 빡빡한거 아닙니까... 그냥 병사 한두명 갖다 바치고 전리품 챙겨가라는 의도인가 싶을 정도. Stop Suppressing The Lost AI Fix [WOTC] Fair Lost Targeting Lost Spawn Further Away No Lost World 로스트 관련 모드입니다. 첫번째는 적군들이 로스트에게 제압 사격을 거는 뻘짓 등을 막아줍니다. 대신 저는 두번째 모드로 로스트가 외계인/어드밴트와 플레이어를 타겟하는 확률을 동등하게 맞춰줬네요. 기본적으로는 7:3인가 8:2로 로스트가 플레이어를 우선시한다고 하더라구요. 물론 이러면 로스트 맵에서 어쌔신 발각 확률이 크게 올라서 플레이어에게 더 수월해지긴 하지만... 3번째는 자연 발생 로스트의 스폰 장소를 플레이어로부터 몇타일 뒤로 밀어주는 모드입니다. 로스트가 크리살리드도 아닌데 너무 가까이서 스폰되면서도 엑스컴 대원들이 눈치 못채는게 말이 되냐는 모드 제작자의 주장에 설득당했읍니다. 그리고 4번째는 비밀 이벤트 로스트의 세계를 아예 틀어막는 모드입니다. 이건 밸런스에 다소 큰 영향을 주는거 아닌가 싶은 생각이 들긴 하지만 어벤저 방어전에서 로스트의 세계가 발동되는 바람에 섹토포드 3기 포함 처리하느라 3시간 넘게 걸렸던 경험 이후로 그냥 모드를 찾아 깔았습니다. 로스트와 뒹구는 것은 게릴라 작전의 로스트 비율만으로도 충분합니다. 진짜... WotC: "Increase Combat Intelligence" for everyone 이건 저항군 링에서 특수 병과들 지능 상승이 막혀있는 것을 뚫어주는 모드. 멍청한 리퍼, 템플러를 굳이 멍청하게 계속 써야한다고 개발자들이 강제하지는 않았겠죠... [WOTC] No Low Profile 이건 게릴라 작전 상황보고 저자세를 없애주는 모드입니다. 병장 이하만 출격 가능, 그러면서도 적들에게 페널티는 하나도 없음. 병장이 6명 이하여도 발동. 확실히 이건 너무 불합리합니다. WotC Vest Slot [WOTC] Locked and Loaded [WOTC] Dress for Success 이건 대원별 아이템 창에 탄환 전용 슬롯, 조끼 전용 슬롯을 추가해주는 모드입니다. 밸런스를 크게 해치는 모드가 맞아요. 저도 이런걸 깔아서야 되나... 했었습니다. 다만 전설 철인을 몇번 플레이하다보니까 전설 플레이 할 때는 이래도 될 것 같다는 생각이 들어서 깔았습니다. 어차피 조끼 같은 경우 이렇게까지 안하면 게임에서 아예 쓸 이유도 없는 수준이 됩니다. 그리고 그냥 늘려주는 것도 아니고 게릴라 전술 학교에서 100 보급품을 지불해야 슬롯이 열리는 구조인데, 어차피 전설 난이도에서는 그 돈 쓰고 조끼나 탄환 제작하고 그럴 여유 있으면 써도 된다는 식으로 타협을 봤습니다. 어차피 무기, 방어구 테크 따라가느라 바빠 죽겠는데... 원래는 수류탄 전용 슬롯도 만들어주는 모드가 세트로 있는데 개인적인 판단에 수류탄까지 그러는 것은 너무 날로 먹는다는 생각이 들어서 탄환과 조끼까지만 타협봤습니다. 아 그리고 하나 빼먹었는데 저는 전설 철인 첫 전투 플레이할 때는 쿨하게 치트 쓰고 합니다. 최종전보다 어려운 최초판 이런 소리 나오는게 엑스컴 2 전설 첫 전투인데, 어차피 뽑기 뽑듯 여러번 돌려서 운 좋게 많이 안 다치고 클리어하는 판 어렵게 만들려고 할 필요가 있을까... 그럴거면 그게 그냥 치트 아닌가 싶더라구요. 몇몇 공략글 보니 첫 스캔에서 기술자, 과학자 나올 때까지 시행을 반복하는 경우도 있던데 역시 마찬가지로 비슷한 생각이 듭니다. 삼국지 조조전 모드들에서 별의별 난이도들을 접하며 든 생각이지만 전략 시뮬레이션 게임은 본인이 할 수 있는 범위 내에서 즐거움을 찾아도 충분합니다... 모드 추가 [WOTC] Gotcha Again Redux Gotcha Again 모드는 타일을 이동하기 전에 이동을 하게 되면 발견한 적에 한해서 적의 시야 안에 들어오는지 안들어오는지(적 부대가 아군을 발견하는지 여부), 어떤 적이 정확하게 측면 사격이 되는지, 오브젝트 해킹 가능 여부 등을 미리 보여주는 모드입니다. 경계 발동 여부나 이동 시 사이오닉 폭풍 범위 등도 표시하더군요. 인터페이스 개선 모드라고 받아들일 수도 있지만 밸런스에 영향을 준다고 생각하실 분들도 있을 것 같네요. 문제는 이게 리덕스판으로 업그레이드 되면서 추가된 기능들인데 Peek From Concealment라고 해서 원래라면 적군에게 발견되어야할 고지대나 코너 위치에서 아군이 발견되지 않는 기능들이 포함되어 있습니다. 이건 엑스컴2 기본 밸런스에 아주 큰 영향을 미친다고 생각이 들어서 개인적으로는 끄고 합니다. 옵션 - 모드 설정 - 갓챠 어게인 리덕스에서 위장 숨기 비활성화에 체크를 하는걸 추천드립니다. Gender Bias Gender Bias - WotC 엑스컴 대원이나 저항군 대원들의 성별 비율을 임의로 정할 수 있는 모드. Remove Weapon Upgrades 특정 저항군 카드를 얻으면 무기 부착물 교체가 가능한데, 교체가 아니라 단독 제거(재사용 가능하도록)도 가능하게 해주는 모드입니다. Hack Plus - WotC 전투 내에서 해킹을 시도하면 그 결과에 따라 소폭 해킹 능력치를 높여주는 모드. 개인적으로 해킹이 이득 대비 손해 밸런스가 무너진 것 같아서 이게 나을 것 같습니다. Turrets Are Cover [WOTC] 포탑이 엄폐를 제공합니다. 기본적으로 포탑은 엄폐를 제공할지 않는데 그래서 오히려 파괴된 후에 지형에 거슬리거나 이동 및 엄폐에 제약을 주는 경우가 많았습니다. Quicker Start 엑스컴 첫 미션을 생략해주는 모드. 초기 출전 병사 4명이서 부상 없이 2킬씩 나눠먹는 결과로 스킵해줍니다. 호불호에 따라 쓰시면 될 것 같아요. 제 기억에 치트 쓰고 일반 병사 1킬씩, 나머지 저항군이 올킬시켜서 하면 4명 전부 진급이 뜨고 시작할 수 있었던 걸로 기억하는데 이 모드는 저항군은 진급을 못하고 시작을 합니다. [WotC] Jane Kelly Starting Soldier 게임 플레이에서 별로 중요하진 않지만, 게임 내에 단독 대사도 준비되어 있다고 하는 제인 켈리를 튜토리얼을 하지 않아도 스쿼드에 넣어주고 시작하는 모드. 게임 내적으로는 정말 중요하지 않은거 맞습니다. 플레이 할 때는 돌격병1일 뿐이에요. 대신 제인 켈리가 첫 미션부터 일병 돌격병으로 참전하므로 초반 밸런스에 어느정도 영향을 줍니다. 고려하시길... remove missing mods 이건 게임 도중 쓰던 모드가 삭제되었을 때 불러오기를 할 때마다 나오는 경고창을 없애주는 모드입니다. 로드 한 후에 왼쪽 위에 나타나는 모드 제거 버튼을 누르고 저장하면 해결. 그래도 외계인 사냥꾼을 하고 싶다는 분들을 위한 추가 모드는 [WOTC] Alien Hunters Community Highlander v1.28.1 외계인 사냥꾼 추가 인터페이스 모드 Disable Ruler Reaction WOTC 지배자 반응 삭제 모드 * Cascade님에 의해서 티타임 게시판으로부터 게시물 복사되었습니다 (2022-04-12 10:09) * 관리사유 : 추천게시판으로 복사합니다.
