저는 스타크래프트가 방송국에 탈 때에만 프로게이머들이 하는 게임리그를 접했고, OGN에서 스타1 리그가 사라진 후로는 갑자기 이스포츠에 관심이 사라져서(나이가 들면 게임이 아니라 연예인을 좋아하게 되는 것 같아요?) 그후로 스타2, 롤 등의 게임판을 잘 모릅니다. 현재는 롤이 대세라고 해서 롤을 공부해볼까도 했는데 AOS장르는 제 스타일 아닌걸로.. 아무튼 작년에 그리핀 사건도 있었고 롤판에 관심없고 프로게이머도 페이커 정도 이름만 알 정도인 저도 귀에 들릴 만큼 굉장히 화제가 많이 된 사건이 있었습니다. 그때 하태경 의원이 많이 신경써서 도와줬다고 하는데.. 스타크래프트 출신 스탭들이 적폐라고 많이 욕을 먹는다고 들었어요. 제 생각에는 아무래도 스타크래프트 시절 프로게이머들이 열악했던 환경을 겪은 것을 그대로 되물림하는 것 같은데.. 그런데 롤은 스타1이 (초창기 시기 제외하고) 한국에서만 인기있었던 것과 달리 전세계적으로 인기있고 상금도 많이 몰리는 게임이라 들었습니다. 저는 자본주의 사회에서 만악의 근원이 돈의 부족이라고 생각해서, 지원과 후원이 잘되어서 게임구단이 돈이 풍족해지면 그래도 환경이 더 개선되지 않을까 싶은 생각이에요. 스타크래프트 초창기 프로게이머들이 후기에 들어온 프로게이머들에게 "라떼는 말야~ 피씨방에서 라면만 먹고 버텼어" 했던 것만큼 시간이 지날수록 환경도 좋아지고 대우도 좋아질 것 같은 기대입니다. 하지만 원래 시작부터 환경이 너무 열악했기에 아직도 저런 사건이 터지는구나 싶었죠. 그래서 현재 주요 인기 게임 종목들에 참여하는 프로게이머들이 받는 연봉이라든지 처우라든지 구단에서의 공동체 생활에서 받는 부조리함이라든지 등등을 여쭙고 싶습니다. 옛날처럼 프로게이머 연습생 제도가 있어서 그들에게 밥만 준다든지를 아직도 하는건지 등등요. 감사합니다.
