의알못입니다. 올해 메르스 사태 당시에 이것저것 읽어보다가 새로 알게 된 언론이 둘 있는데요. 하나는 라포르시안(www.rapportian.com) 이고 하나는 청년의사(www.docdocdoc.co.kr)입니다. 라포르시안은 페이스북 친구들 중에서 좀 빨강빨강~한 분들이 인용하는 링크를 따라가 보고 알게 되었고 청년의사는 박재영이라는 분이 쓴 <개념의료>라는 책 리뷰(강양구, 프레시안)를 보다가 알게 되었습니다. 둘 다 신뢰할 수 있는 의료뉴스를 제공하는 언론인지요? 물론 모든 언론에는 당파성이 있겠습니다만 어떤 쟁점이 터졌을 때(예를 들어 이번 영리병원 허용 문제라든지) 평소 관련 뉴스를 챙겨보지 않던 문외한이 건전한 판단을 내리는 데 도움이 될 다른 매체가 있다면 추천해 주시면 감사하겠습니다. 또 조중동 한경대 등등 각종 일간지들에서 괜찮다고 생각하시는 의학전문기자가 있다면, 혹은 이 사람은 피하는 게 좋다고 생각하시는 경우가 있다면 누구일지도 궁금합니다. 라포르시안은 기본적으론 진보/좌파 스탠스이긴 합니다만 생긴 지가 얼마 안되서 아직 내공이 좀 떨어진다고나 할까요. 컬럼과 기사와의 괴리가 좀 있습니다. 가끔 전문성이 떨어지는 모습도 보입니다. 그러나 의료 문제를 \'구조적\'으로 바라보는 꾸준한 자세를 가지고 있어서 저도 자주 보는 편입니다. 청년의사는 상당히 오래된 언론이고 발행인이 구 NL의 거목이었던 이왕준씨여서 처음엔 역시 꽤 참신한 모습을 보였지만 지금은 오너의 성향변화 만큼이나 보수적인 스탠스를 주로 보입니다. 그래도 전문성은 꽤 높아서 저도 비교적 찾아보고 있습니다. ... 더 보기

종합일간지는 좀 오히려 들쑥날쑥하다고나 할까요. 개인적으론 조선일보의 김철중 기자를 가장 높이 평가합니다. 의학기자로서의 경력도 거의 제일 길고 기본 성향이 의사/보수 위주긴 해도 전문성과 아젠다 세팅이 뛰어납니다. 병원내 내부 인센티브에 문제제기를 한 기자는 이 양반밖에 아직 못봤습니다. 허수아비 같은 리베이트 문제만 앵무새처럼 때리지. 한겨레/경향은 너무 계급위주의 시각으로 의료계를 보다 보니 답정너도 많고 가끔은 기본 팩트에서 너무나 기가 막히는 기사들도 있어서 상당히 별로입니다. 공중파에서는 SBS 조동찬 기자가 조금 나은 것 같긴 합니다. 메르스 관련에선 동아일보 이진한 기자가 정리를 잘 하긴 했어요. 물론 최악은 페이스북에서 가끔 설화도 일으키고 꼰대의식이라고 비판 많이 받는 H모 전 기자입니다. 전 이런 스탠스의 문제보다 전문성의 결여를 제일 문제로 삼습니다.
개인적으로 한국의료는 너무 민간의료-전문의 체제로 돌아가는게 문제인 만큼 기자도 최소한 전문의는 되어야 문제를 제대로 이해할 수 있다고 생각합니다. 이러면 의사편을 너무 드는 문제가 있을 수 있지만 그래도 팩트에서 덜 틀리며, 최소한 병원이 어떻게 돌아가는 지는 몸으로 체득하고 있어야 기본이라고 할까요. 의료사고가 났을때도 머리에서 바로 시나리오를 써 볼 수있는 수준은 되어야 합니다. 그래야 심층 취재가 가능하거든요.
