안녕하세요. 문과생 출신 IT 직장인입니다.(문과가 어떻게 IT냐고 물으시면...저도 제가 왜 여기있는지 모르겠네요...) 이후의 진로 고민을 하고 있습니다. 취직하고 나서가 시작이라더니 정말 고민이 더 많아지네요. 홍차넷에 저보다 사회경험이 많으신 분들이 많을 것 같아서 조언을 구해봅니다!! 아무리 생각해도 인문대학 전공 출신의 평범한 직장인은 앞으로 살아남기 힘들 것 같은데, 대체 어떻게 살아야 할까요? 문과생은 사실 실제 업계에서 특히 한국의 대부분인 업종에서 전문성이 부족하고, (비하는 절대 아니고 현실적으로 한국은 제조업이나 It와 일부 금융이 다라서 더 그런 것 같아요. 요즘은 영업사원도 공대 관련전공 출신으로 뽑더라구요.)게다가 이제 기계로 대체되는 부분이 점점 많아질텐데, 제가 취할 수 있는 방법은 1) 어디선가 전문성을 쌓거나(전문대학원 특수대학원 등등), 아님 2)법적으로 보장되는 자리에 가거나(공기업, 공무원 등), 아니면 자본을 축적해서 생존을 확보하거나(.....부동산이나 사업??) 해야 하지 않을까 싶어요. 3번은 애초에 원천 자본이 없으니-_- 불가능할거 같고, 1,2번에 대해서 생각해봤습니다. 1) 현 직종에서 따로 공부하고 커리어를 쌓아서 살아남는다. - 장점: 미래에도 확실히 살아남을 산업이라는 생각 - 위험: 열심히 공부해봤자 전공자들에게 당연히 밀릴것임ㅜㅜ 커리어 쌓는게 내 의지보다는 회사 조직에 휘둘릴 가능성 2) 다른 분야로 진로를 튼다. ㅡ 생각하는 건 로스쿨 아니면 상담 분야, 혹은 다른 말울 하고 사람을 대해야 하는 직업입니다. ㅡ 장점: 일단 시작하면 내 의지에 따라 전문성을 쌓을 수는 있을 것 같다, 미래에도 '감정 서비스'하는 직업들은 살아남을거라는 막연한 생각 ㅡ위험: 애초에 들어가기가 어려워서 붙을 수 있을지...그리고 돈이 많이 드는 공부인데, 그 돈을 모아서 자본을 확보하는게 자본주의에서 더 나은 전략이 아닐까. 3) 공무원 준비 ㅡ 우울증인데다 사람 만나는 걸 이미 극도로 회피해서 이런 멘탈에 시험 준비는 미래 이전에 제 자신을 지키는 게 어려울 것 같아서 좋은 선택이 아닌 것 같습니다. 4) 공기업 준비 장점 ㅡ 시험준비가 아니고 사회생활하면서 병행 가능하기 때문에 위험하지는 않을 것 같음 위험 ㅡ 한가지 걱정되는 건 공무원은 법적으로 신분이 보장되지만 공기업이 과연 우리나라에서 언제까지고 보장될까? 내가 은퇴할 나이까지 보장될까? 하는 우려. 다 가질 수는 없고 어떤 단점을 견딜 수 있을 것인가의 문제일텐데.. 이게 너무 어렵습니다. 사실 아직 커리어나 이런 욕심이 나서 1번이나 2번에 끌립니다. 그런데 이게 제가 아직 어려서 그런 것 같기도 하고 전문성을 가졌다고 살아남는 것도 아닌데, 법적인 신분보장을 추구하는게 맞는건가 싶기도 해요. 헤매고 있는 초년생한테 조언 한마디만 부탁드립니다.
