다른 분들은 유치하다고 생각하실지 모르겠지만... 요새 저는 삶의 목적을 잃고 너무 막막하게 살아가고 있습니다. 제가 사는 목적이 제가 정말 사랑했던 제 첫사랑 여친과 제 꿈이었는데요. 갑작스레 그 두가지를 다 잃어버렸습니다. 5년 이상 교제하면서 정말 결혼까지 진지하게 생각했던 그녀와 헤어지고 나서, 지인의 소식을 통해서 그녀가 결혼한다는 소식을 듣었을 때 정말 하루종일 멍했던 기억이 납니다. 일주일 정도는 잠도 제대로 자지 못했던 걸로 기억합니다. 그리고 두번째도 심각한데, 나름 천직이라고 생각했던 전공이 뒤늦게 대학원에 들어가고 나서야 자신에게 큰 재능이 없다는 사실을 깨달았을 때 였습니다. 어찌 어찌 늦게 들어간 대학원 석사 과목 다 듣고 수료까지는 했지만 결국 논문이 통과되지는 못했어요... 제가 대학원 과정을 너무 만만하게 봤나 봅니다... 학부때처럼 너무 수동적으로 공부했던 측면도 컸던 것 같습니다. 대학원 쯤 되면 스스로 알아서 해야 했는데 말이죠... 무엇보다 선후배, 동기들과 비교해서 제가 재능이 없었던 것을 실감한 것도 컸던 것 같습니다... 앞으로도 이 분야에서 주도적으로 활동하지 못할 것 같다는 생각이 저를 더 좌절케 했던 것 같네요. 정말 결혼할 거라고 생각했던 그녀와 이별하고 그녀의 결혼식 소식을 전해들은 것과, 정말 천직이라고 생각했던 분야에서 사실은 별 재능이 없었다고 느끼고 중단하고 나니, 정말 왜 사는지 모르겠더군요... 지난 1~ 2 년간은 정말 '못 죽어서 살아가는 인생' 을 지냈던 것 같습니다. 그냥 적당히 알바해서 게임방송이나 인터넷 방송, 게임이나 보면서 생산적이지 못하고 소비적인 인생을 살아왔던 것 같아요. 직업이나 앞으로 해야 할 일에 대해서는 일부러 회피하면서 말이죠. 그러다가 올 추석때 먼저 결혼한 동생과 가족의 질책을 받으면서 '이렇게 살아서는 안되겠다' 하는 생각이 들었습니다. 아직도 새로운 사랑이나 새로운 꿈에 대해서는 잘 모르겠지만, 이런식으로 계속 살면 동생과 가족의 골칫덩이 짐이 되겠다 하는 생각이 계속 들더군요. 거의 2년간 제멋대로 살고 이제 30 대 초중반이 된 인문계인데... 지금 당장 생각나는게 공무원 시험 혹은 공기업? 정도 밖에 생각이 안 나네요. 일반 기업에 취직하는데에는 이제 나이제한이 걸릴것 같은 나이라서 당장 생각나는게 저 2 개 밖에 없더군요. 혹시 이 글을 보시는 분들께 몇 가지 질문을 드리고 싶습니다... 혹시 아시는 분 있으면 일부라도 좋으니 답변 부탁드리겠습니다. 1. 30 대 초중반 인문계 대학원 수료(사실상 학부졸업과 마찬가지) 생이 지금 할 수 있는 취직이라는 게 공무원 시험이나 공기업 말고 다른 분야가 있을까요? 딱히 자격증도 없고, 토익은 기간이 지나서 다시 보아야 합니다. 예전에는 토익점수 800 점 초반이었는데 지금 토익에만 올인하면, 애쓰면 900 까지는 가능할 것 같기도 합니다. 생각해보니 제가 할 수 있는 유일한게 공부였네요. 지금 와서 자신의 강점을 생각해보려니 끈기, 인내심 정도? 고등학교때 특수고가 아닌 일반 인문고에서 전교 1등 두 번 한 기억이 인생 유일한 자랑거리인데, 10 년 이상 지난 지금에 와서는 과거의 영광일 뿐이고요... 2. 공무원 시험이나 공기업 취직에 대해서 처음부터 알아보려면 어디부터 알아봐야 할까요? 공무원 시험은 정보가 그래도 있는 편인데, 공기업 취직이나 공채는 정말로 어디서 알아봐야 하는지 모르겠습니다. 3. 이게 가장 근본적인 질문인데... 인생을 살아가는 큰 두가지 목적을 잃고 죽지못해 살아가는 인생을 사는 저에게 지금 해결책이나 조언 있으면 부탁드립니다. 이게 사실 가장 근본적인 문제라서... 앞에서 말한 공무원 시험 등의 준비도 이게 먼저 해결되야지 필사적으로 할 수 있겠다는 생각이 듭니다. 목적의식이 다시 필요한 것 같습니다. 장문의 글 읽어주셔서 감사드립니다. 혹 답변도 달아주시면 정말로 감사드리겠습니다. 님 앞으로 70년 가까이 더 사셔야 됩니다^^ 천천히 돌아보고 나가도 전혀 늦지 않아요. 운동하고 섭생 잘해서 건강한 몸 만들면서 한 발 한 발 다시 나가면, 먼저 세상에 나갔다가 지쳐 나가 떨어진 사람들보다 어느 순간 앞서가고 있을 겁니다.
