2t 하드디스크가 갑자기 사망했는데 이 디스크가 사망 직전에 하던 일은, 백업입니다. 제가 8t짜리 하드를 하나 새로 사면서 구형 500g 하드를 제거하고 그자리에 8t를 끼우려고 생각했습니다. 그래서 500g에 있던 데이터를 2t에 백업했는데요. (한 300기가바이트 정도?) 컴퓨터 케이스를 열기 전에 최종 점검하는 차원에서 컴퓨터를 재시작했더니 chkdsk가 돌아가는 그 프롬프트가 뜨는겁니다 n초 이내에 아무키나 누르시지 않으면 디스크를 확인어쩌고 하겠습니다. 하는. 그래서 chkdsk를 취소시키고 윈도우즈로 바로 진입해서 살펴보니 제거할 계획이었던 구형 500g 하드가 아닌 남겨둘 계획이었던 신형 2t하드가 사망했습니다(...............) [상태1] BIOS에서도 인식이 안되고 디스크관리. 에서도 인식이 안됩니다. S.M.A.R.T. 도 찍어볼수가 없는 상태. 8t하드를 꽂아넣고, 다시 케이스를 닫으면서 2t하드 커넥터들을 후후 바람을 불어 먼지도 좀 닦아주고 했더니 [상태2] 아까 사망했던 2t하드가 BIOS에서도 잡히고 윈도우즈가 부팅하면서 chkdsk를 또 돌립니다. 이번엔 걍 놔둬보자 했더니 stage1을 돌리는데 10일이 걸린답니다... ㅋㅋ 그래서 다시 컴퓨터전원버튼을 길게 눌러 강제 종료한뒤 재시작하고 chkdsk를 취소시키고 윈도우즈에 진입했더니 이번엔 잠깐 디스크가 잡히는데 RAW상태로 잡히고 S.M.A.R.T.에도 잠시 잡힙니다. 뭔가 오류가 한두개정도 잇는것 같기도 한데 저 오류가 무슨 뜻일까 하고 인터넷에 검색을 해보려고 했는데 [상태1]로 도로 돌아가버렸습니다. 5분쯤 지나니까 도로 디스크관리에서도 사라지고 S.M.A.R.T.도 안찍히게 되었습니다. 다시 BIOS에 진입해보니 역시 BIOS에서도 사라져 있음. BIOS에 진입해보면 이런식으로 나옵니다. SATA0: 8t HDD (시게이트) SATA1: 500g SDD (마이크론) SATA2: 500g HDD (히타치) SATA3: (장치없음) [사실은 이자리에 2t HDD(시게이트)가 꽂혀있음] 데이터야 뭐 날라가면 그냥 날라가는가보다 할 생각이긴 합니다. 돈들여서 복구할 생각은 전혀 없습니다. 다만 멀쩡한 하드디스크가 폐기처분되는건 좀 아깝기도하고.. 데이터는 날라가더라도, 하드디스크는 가능하면 계속 쓰고싶은데 제가 어떻게 할수 있는 방법이 있을까요? 비슷한 경험을 해보신 분이 계실지 궁금합니다. 시게이트의 복구 서비스 기간이나 하드 자체의 보증기간은 이미 지났겠지요?
(1) 잘되는 HDD 자리 포트에 꽂고, 그쪽 케이블로 바꿔서 인식 시도
(2) 케이블 교체하여 다른 컴퓨터에서 테스트
(3) 외장케이스에 넣어서 테스트해 보시고,
그래도 인식이 안 되거나 됐다 안됐다 하면 그냥 폐기하셔야 할 듯합니다. 믿을 수 없는 저장장치만큼 불안한 것도 없으니..
개인적으로 시게이트 하면 좋은 기억이 20MB HDD 말고는 남아있지 않습니다.

(1) 잘되는 HDD 자리 포트에 꽂고, 그쪽 케이블로 바꿔서 인식 시도
(2) 케이블 교체하여 다른 컴퓨터에서 테스트
(3) 외장케이스에 넣어서 테스트해 보시고,
그래도 인식이 안 되거나 됐다 안됐다 하면 그냥 폐기하셔야 할 듯합니다. 믿을 수 없는 저장장치만큼 불안한 것도 없으니..
개인적으로 시게이트 하면 좋은 기억이 20MB HDD 말고는 남아있지 않습니다.
별로 뾰족한 수 같아 보이지는 않지만, 시게이트 홈페이지에서 SeaTools 같은 소프트웨어로 진단해 보시거나, 혹시 개정된 펌웨어가 있는지 확인해 보실 수 있을 겁니다.
