안녕하세요. 제 가족이 IT스타트업을 운영중에 있는데요, 수익화를 생각하는 도중 고민이 있어보여서 저도 글을 올리게 되었습니다. 대략 DAU 15~20만 사이 정도 나오는 앱을 운영중인데, 앱 실행시 광고를 구글의 애드몹이 아닌 기업과 컨택해서 받으려 하는것 같습니다. 앱에서 직접 광고주를 찾는건 매우 비효율적인 방법이에요. 포탈이나 그에 준하는 대형 서비스가 되어서, 광고주들이 누구나 인지할 정도가 아니라면 하지 않으시는게 좋습니다. 우리나라에서 그정도로 배짱장사(?) 하는 곳은 네이버 정도입니다. 심지어는 다음도 그렇게까지는 안 해요(정확히는 직덥영업과 프로그래머틱을 다 쓰긴 합니다만......). 웬만하면 Google AdSense든 뭐든 좋으니 SSP(supply side platform)를 사용하시는걸 추천드립니다.
참고로, 우리나라에서는 미디어랩이라 불리는 종류의 회사들이 관련 업무를 하고 있습니다. 나스미디어라던가 하는 회사들이 대표적이죠. 아래 기사가 도움이 되실 것 같습니다.

만일 직접 영업을 하시려면 광고주 회사의 광고 담당 마케터를 만나셔야 할텐데, 요즘 온라인 광고는 'OO앱/XX서비스에서 광고를 한다'가 아니라 '광고 위치는 모르겠고, 난 광고하고 싶지 않은 위치인 블랙리스트만 관리하겠다'가 대세가 된지 오래입니다. 아울러 인구통계학적 타겟팅은 기본이고, 부분적으로 위치기반 광고까지 요구하는 경우도 있습니다. 이를테면 이니스프리는 60대 남자보다는 2~30대 여자에게 광고를 더 노출하고 싶겠죠. 물론 필터링을 켜면 광고 단가가 올라갑니다만 의미없는 노출보다는 훨씬 낫습니다. 그런데 DSP-SSP를 사용하면 이걸 모두 자동으로 해줘요. 속칭 말하는 프로그래머틱 광고란 거죠.
마지막으로, 제가 업계에 있을 때 들은 이야기입니다만, 독립적인 광고 매체로 인정빋으려명 최소한 active user가 100만명 이상은 되어야 한다고 들었습니다. DAU 10만이면 분명 작은 숫자는 아니지만, 독립적으로 광고주를 찾아다니기엔 많이 부족할 것 같습니다.
