안녕하세요. 저는 이제 5년차를 넘어선 고등학교 과학 교사입니다. 교사 처음 시작할 때에는 수업하는 학생으로 다 외우려 했지만 3년 따라 올라가도 제 교과수업 듣는 학생들, 담임맡은 학급 학생들만 겨우 외울뿐 그 외 학생을 대부분 외우지 못했습니다. 당시 제 수업듣는 학생 70명, 제 수업 안듣는 우리 반 학생 10명정도 약 80명도 ANKI 어플에 사진이랑 이름 등록해서 겨우 외웠습니다. 학교 업무(특히 생기부 작성)와 학생들을 인지하는 것이 힘들어져서 진료를 받았는데, ADHD라는 진단을 받았습니다. 다행히도 약을 복용하고 하기 싫은 업무를 해내는 능력, 게으름 피우는 성향을 아주 줄었지만 많은 학생을 인지하고 이를 기억하는건 여전히 저를 너무 지치게 합니다. 다행이 두번째 학교 부터는 담임교사를 맡지 않아 학생 개개인의 역사(출결, 상벌, 성적, 친구 관계등)에 대한 인지 피로는 아주 줄었습니다. 또한 작년 한 학기에는 두 학년에 거쳐 한 반당 일주일에 한번 하는 수업만 16개(16*25=400명)가 있어서 그 해에는 학생들에게 아무도 기억하지 않을꺼라고 선언한적도 있었습니다. 그래서 그런 피로는 줄었지만, 학생과의 상호작용이 없어진 수업은 교사로서 옳지 않다는 느낌이 듭니다. 올 해에는 그러지 않겠다 다짐하고 수업을 해보는데, 제 수업에 애정을 가지고 참여하는 학생들을 학기 마칠때 까지 기억하지 못하니 방학식때 학생이 섭섭해 하는 모습이 아른거리네요. 제가 수업하는 학생들이라도 잘 기억하려면 방법은 저도 어느정도 아는데 너무 에너지 소비가 커서 더 나은 수단이 필요하네요. 제가 생각하는 방법은 다음과 같습니다. 1. 학생 사진 명렬이 있으면 사진명렬을 보고 이름-사진을 외운다. - 없으면 이름이라도 다 외어서 이름에 익숙해진 다음에 들어간다. 2. 수업시간에 최대한 많은 학생들을 부르고 상호 작용해본다. - 막상 수업하면 잘 기억안나기 때문에 가장 어려운 부분이네요. 여기서 이름을 부르지 못하니 악순환의 반복입니다. - 이를 위해 수업 좌석을 지정하여 이름을 기억해두면, 사진-이름으로 외우는 것 보다 위치-이름으로 외우는게 쉽기 때문에 첫 상호작용을 할 때 쉬울 것 같음. 3. 이번에 시도? 수업하고 2주 이후, 내가 이름 못 외운 학생에게 간식주기. 학생이 물어보면 항상 대답하고, 틀리면 간식주기? 애들은 자신을 기억못한다는 아픔을 간식으로 달래고 나는 한번더 인지? 적다보니 학기 시작 전에 잘 준비하면 할만할 것 같습니다. ^^ 1. 2. 모두 시간이 많이 걸리고 재미없는 일인지라 방학 때 해낼 수 있을지가 관건이네요. 처음에는 지문 글로 시작했는데 나름 5~6년간 고민하면서 그 때 그 때 노력한 기억들이 나면서 생각 정리가 좀 되네요. 많은 조언 부탁드립니다. 감사합니다.
