저와 여자친구는 세상을 바라보는 관점이 극명히 다릅니다. 저는 세상을 부정적으로 바라봅니다. 어떤 사람이든 저에게 해를 끼칠 수 있기 때문에 사람들에게 일반적으로는 상냥하고 친절하게 대하되 몇가지의 특정 반응에 대해서 매우 예민하게 반응하고 태도가 돌변하는 편입니다. 저의 성장 배경이 그런 사람들이 가득했기 때문에 어쩌면 당연한 일입니다. 여자친구는 세상을 긍정적으로 바라봅니다. 대부분의 사람은 선의를 가지고 행동하기 때문에 걱정할 필요가 없다는 것입니다. 여자친구의 집과 성장환경은 좀 부러운 면이 많습니다. 집에서 여자로써 차별받지도 않았고 사회에서도 흔한 무시나 성추행 등 어떻게 한번도 부정적인 이벤트를 겪지 않을 수 있을지 의심스러울 정도로 순탄하게 살아왔습니다. 제 입장에서는 온실속의 화초로 보이고 행동 하나하나가 너무나도 위태로워 보입니다. 생각나는 행동들을 몇가지 나열해보겠습니다. 1. 저희 집 근처에는 판자집이 있습니다. 판자집이 여러개 모여있어 촌이라고 부르기는 어렵지만 여튼 겉으로는 예쁘게 보이기 위해서 벽화가 그려진 판자로 가려져 있습니다. 여자친구는 그런 판자집을 흥미롭게 보면서 가끔 판자집으로 들어가는 복도 문이 열려 있으면 그곳에 머리를 넣고 기웃거리다가 나옵니다. 저는 기겁했습니다. 너무나도 무례한 행동이고 위험한 행동입니다. 판자집에 사는 사람들에게는 수치심을, 혹은 그 이상의 분노를 불러일으킬 수 있다고 생각합니다. 법적으로는 주거침입에 해당합니다. 저는 그런 행동을 하면 안된다고 경고하였습니다. 하지만 여자친구는 천하태평입니다. 그런 곳에 정말로 사람이 사는지 궁금했다고 합니다. 자기 생각에는 창고가 아닐까 생각했답니다. 머리가 아픕니다..... 2. 이상한 행동을 한 사람을 고개를 돌려가며 쳐다봅니다. 여자친구는 아파트에 삽니다. 아파트 단지는 밖에서 들어올때도 안에서 나갈때도 카드를 찍어야 합니다. 하루는 아파트 단지 안에서 밖으로 나가려고 했는데 어떤 사람이 급하게 단지 출입문으로 오길래 저는 그저 단지안으로 급하게 들어와야하는 줄 알았습니다. 그런데 우리가 밖으로 나오는 걸 보더니 흠칫 놀래고는 갑자기 방향을 정반대로 틀어서 천천히 걷습니다. 저는 이상한 사람이라 생각하고 쳐다보지 않고 제가 갈 길을 향해 보면서 걸었습니다. 그런데 여자친구는 아닙니다. 그 사람을 고개를 180도 돌려서라도 보면서 계속 쳐다보다가 제가 그만보라고 해서 그만봤습니다. 저는 이상한 사람이다 싶으면 눈을 마주치면 안된다고 경고해줬습니다. 혹시나 시비가 걸릴 수도 있고 사람을 빤히 쳐다보는 건 예의가 아니라고 했습니다. 3. 이벤트에 대한 해결법은 외주를 선호합니다. 여자친구 집에 아무도 없는 상황에서 집에 같이 들어간 적이 있습니다. 그런데 삐삐삐 경고음이 계속 들렸습니다. 저는 경고음이 들리는 곳을 따라가보니 가스레인지 윗쪽 경보기였습니다. 바로 가스 누출 경보기라는 것을 안 저는 환기부터 해야한다고 하였습니다. 여자친구는 반 패닉에 빠져서 얼른 경비아저씨에게 찾아가려고 하였으나 저는 그것을 붙잡고 일단은 환기를 해야한다고 창문을 모두 열라고 하였습니다. 창문을 열고도 일정시간이 지나도 경보기가 멈추지 않아 저는 가스레인지 옆 벽면에 붙어있는 전화번호로 전화하여 상황을 설명하고 여쭤보았는데 경보기가 오래되어 고장난 것 같다고 하였습니다. 그래서 저는 경보기의 전원선으로 보이는 부분을 하나하나 해체하여 경보음을 나지 않게 하였습니다. 결론적으로는 경비아저씨에게 이야기하여 아파트 수리 담당자를 부르는 것이 맞았으나 절차를 지키지 않고 무조건 외부 전문가에게 의뢰부터 하려고 하는 것이 잘못되었다고 지적하였습니다. 지금 나열한 것들은 생각나는 일들이고 생각나지 않는 이런 일들을 겪으며 저는 여자친구에게 반드시 조언을 해야겠다고 생각하여 다음과 같은 조언을 하였습니다. 세상을 너무 긍정적으로 바라보지 말고, 위험 시그널에 더 잘 반응할 것, 외부 전문가를 부르기 전에 스스로 해결하거나 해야하는 일이 있을지 생각하고 행동하기 등 행동을 교정할 것을 요청하였습니다. 이런 요청을 하며 저도 감정적으로 격해져 상처주는 말을 하였습니다. "이런 행동들은 살면서 핵심적이다. 그러니 이런 행동을 고치지 못하면 나는 너와의 결혼을 다시 생각해볼 수 밖에 없다." "가끔 일어나는 이런 이벤트에 제대로 대처하지 못하는 것들을 보면서 나는 너가 아무것도 못하는 무능력자로 보인다." 이런 언급을 하였습니다. 당시에는 이런 말들에 대해 당연하다고 생각하였으나 집에 돌아와 글로 찬찬히 적어보며 생각을 정리하니 제가 과한 공격성을 드러낸 것 같습니다. 저는 여자친구가 이런 위험하거나 부정적 이벤트가 발생했을 때 잘 대처하기를 바랍니다. 그런데 이렇게 이벤트 후에만 조언을 하는 것은 위험해보이고 사전에 행동요령을 알려주고 싶습니다. 1. 제가 이벤트를 겪으며 흥분된 상태에서 정보를 전달하며 공격성을 드러내는 것을 저도 원치 않습니다. 정보로써 이런 생활속에서 흔히/가끔 일어나는 이벤트들에 대한 대처법을 알려주고 싶습니다. 혹시 이런 것들이 적혀 있는 곳이 있을까요? 2. 제가 세상을 부정적으로 바라보는 것은 사실입니다. 그래서 저는 여자친구와 언쟁을 하다 세상에 이상한 사람 8 선한 사람 2로 이루어져 있다고 언급했습니다. 그래서 매사에 대비하고 사는 것이 맞다고 하였습니다. 혹시 여러분은 이런 비율이 얼마나 된다고 생각하시나요? 긴 글 읽어주셔서 감사합니다. 2.이상한짓을 해서 나에게 해를 가하면 이상한 사람이고 이상한 짓을 하더라도 나에게 어떠한 해를 가하지 않으면 아무리 그 마음속이 어떠한들 나에게 이상한 사람이 아닙니다. 자기 자신의 마음도 어찌하지 못하는데 세상을 어떻게 이상한 일이 안생기도록 통제할 수 있겠습니까? 비율을 알더라도 내가 마주치는 사람의 비율을 통제하려면 집에서 나오시질 말아야합니다.
매사에 대비를 하다 억울하게 죽거나 어찌저찌 살아남는것보다 저는 마음 평화롭게 살다가 억울하게 죽겠습니다. 죽음은 나의 경험 외부의 일입니다. 제가 중요하게 생각하는 것은 삶입니다. 삶과 죽음은 절대 만날 수 없습니다.
