오래 사귄 여자친구가 있습니다. 둘의 관계는 좋습니다. 성격 잘맞고 서로 결혼도 긍정적으로 생각합니다. 나이는 여자친구 30대 초반, 저 30대 중반입니다. 문제는 여자친구의 부모님입니다. 여자친구가 저와 결혼하는 것을 반대합니다. 직장과 학벌 문제로요. (여자친구 부모님이 학벌 컴플렉스가 있어 학력을 중요하게 생각합니다) (두 분 모두 현재 직장을 다니지 않고 서울 거주중입니다. 딸과 사위가 노후 책임져주길 바라시는 듯 합니다) 우선 여자친구가 외동딸이고 서울에서 나름 알아주는 여대 나왔고 직장도 어느정도 인지도 있는 대기업입니다. 저는 지방 국립대 중퇴에 중견기업 다니고 있습니다. 둘다 같은 업계이고 제가 연차가 좀더 있어서 연봉은 저와 여자친구 비슷합니다. 예전부터 여자친구 부모님이 저를 탐탁치 않아 해서(경제력/학벌 문제) 여자친구에게 헤어지고 다른남자 만나라고 강요했었고 이로인해 여자친구가 많은 스트레스를 받았습니다. 그리고 이런 얘기를 여자친구에게 들을때 저 역시도 많은 스트레스를 받았습니다. 자존감이 뭉텅뭉텅 깍여나가는 느낌이었습니다. 하지만 여자친구가 너무 좋아서 너무 잘 어울려서 헤어지고 싶지는 않았습니다. 그래서 제 경제력이 여자친구 부모님 눈에는 부족하게 보일지라도 돈 허투로 쓰지않고 재테크 잘하는것을 어필하고자 그동안 모은 돈으로 올해에 수도권 25평 아파트를 구매해서 몇달 후에 잔금 치루기를 기다리고 있습니다. (물론 이 문제해결만을 위해서 구매한건 아니고 어차피 실거주 1채가 필요한 상황이었습니다) 여자친구도 수도권 아파트 보유한 남자친구라면 부모님 눈에 들꺼라 생각했습니다. (둘이 같이 집보러 다녔습니다) 그런데 이러한 노력에도 불구하고 여전히 여자친구 부모님께서는 남자친구가 집을 샀다는 얘기를 듣고 나서도 저를 반대합니다. 왜 지금 집을 사냐, 계속 청약 노려야 하는거 아니냐 등등... 그리고 이렇게 오랫동안 변화없이 이어지는 부모님의 강요에 여자친구가 많이 지쳤습니다. 얼마 전에 여자친구 집에서 알콩달콩 좋은시간 보내고 잠들기 전에 갑자기 울면서 저에게 생각할 시간을 갖자고 합니다. 힘들다네요. 너무 갑작스럽고 저 자신도 혼란스러운 와중에 많이 슬퍼하는 여자친구 위로하고 알겠다 하고 새벽 택시 타고 집으로 왔는데 이제 한 4일 지났네요. 연휴 내내 참 뭐랄까... 어찌할바를 모르겠네요. 마음을 정리해야 하나? 매달려야 하나? 마음 정리하자니 아직도 여자친구가 너무 좋고 이런 사람 더는 못만날 것 같고 한데 매달려서 잡자니 여자친구 부모님때문에 또 고통받을 여자친구가 걱정됩니다. 진작에 제가 적극적으로 나서서 여자친구 부모님을 만나뵙고 저에대한 생각이 바뀌도록 했어야 했나... 코피터지게 준비해서 여자친구와 같은 대기업으로 이직을 했어야 했나... 그동안 둘이 지내면서 서로를 위해 최선을 다했다고 생각했는데 여자친구 부모님 눈에는 그렇지가 않은가 봅니다. 그동안의 제 삶이 통째로 부정당하는 것 같은 느낌입니다. 쉽지 않네요. 힘든 명절입니다. 하소연같은 글이 되었는데 조언좀 부탁드립니다. 제가 어떻게 하는게 좋을까요. 언제까지 시간 가지자는 말은 없었고 이제 4일 지났네요 그동안 서로 연락은 안했습니다.
