* 아래 질문 네 줄 요약이 있습니다! 안녕하세요. 한때 친구들 따라서 '개발자 해야겠다!'를 외치다가 자료구조 수업에서 나가 떨어지고선(ㅠㅠ) 경제학과로 돌아온 학생입니다. 비록 경영학 아닌 경제학과 이중전공 학생이지만, 어릴 때부터 회계/재무에 재능이 있어서 다양한 자격증들을 따왔습니다. 제 꿈은 최대한 어디서든 재무팀에서 밥벌이하면서 파트타임 석박사를 밟다가 학계로 나가는건데요. 선배 중에 한 분이 재무팀은 아니지만 외국계 회사에 다니면서 석사 과정을 잘 밟고 계신걸 보면서 외국계 회사에 가야겠다는 생각이 들었습니다. 그것도 그렇지만, 한국 회사에 비해서 비교적으로 덜 위계적인 분위기가 만족스럽다는 피드백도 한몫했고요. 그런데 정작 외국계 회사 재무팀이 회계법인이나 증권업계와는 달리 신입사원 단계에서 채용하는 회사는 잘 없고, 있더라도 대부분 'Excellent financial judgment and decision making skills' 이런 식으로만 자격 요건이 적혀있더라고요. 그래서 문득 채용이 되려면 최소 AICPA 정도의 자격증이 필요한건지 궁금해졌습니다. 그러나...아시다시피 AICPA 준비하는데 총 비용과 시간이 만만치 않게 들다보니, 학생으로써 학점 관리&인턴을 포기해야할텐데 그만한 값어치가 있는 자격증인가 하는 생각도 잠시 듭니다. 물론 방학을 잘 이용하면 타협도 가능하겠지만요. 질문한다면서 말이 길어졌네요. 한국회계사 자격증 없이 미국회계사 라이센스만 가지고 국내 빅4에 근무하는 분들도 은근 계시죠.
2)외국계 재무팀 목표시라면 경제학과 출신 + 미국회계사 or 한국회계사 자격증이 큰 도움이야 됩니다만 자격증이 절대 담보해주진 않습니다 오히려 자격증보다 실무경력자를 훨씬 더 선호 합니다. 실무 하다보면 자격증 따기도 훨 수월하구요.
3)이건 너무 케바케라 차후에 지원하실 기업에 대해 알아보시는 게 더 중요할 듯 합... 더 보기

AICPA가 자체로 어려운 자격증인거야 두말할 팔요 없지만 냉정하게 말씀드리면 미국회계사(한국회계사) 자격증의 희소성이 예전만큼 높지 않기 때문에 있으면 좋다지 그걸로 국내 대기업에도 무조건 합격하리란 보장은 못합니다. 20년 전 저 취업시즌에도 AICPA 가진 친구들 우르르 떨어지기도 했습니다.
아마 저 아닌 다른 분들도 비슷하게 말씀 드릴거로 예상되는데요. 경제학과가 경영학과보다 쬐~~끔 더 유리합니다. 급하게 생각하지 마시고 경력을 쌓으시다 외국계 재무팀으로 이직을 노리시는게 정석이지 싶습니다.
