(의역/오역이 있을수 있습니다) 1. 정치인들이 반성장적(anti-growth) 아젠다를 더 많이 추진함. 규제확대, 이민에 대한 제한, 건설규제 확대(정확히는 less friendly) 등. 주택건설은 00년대 이후로 2/3수준으로 감소해 주택가격 상승에 일조. 2. 복지와 보건지출도 늘음. 한 예로, 90대의 영국인은 1인당 약 15,000파운드의 보건 및 복지혜택을 받는데, 이는 영국인 1인당 GDP(즉 생산량)의 거의 절반에 달함. 대신 OECD국가의 평균 R&D국가지출은 1/3로 감소함. (참고로 GDP대비 국가R&D 지출은 한국이 몇년째 세계 1위인데, 선진국에서 이쪽 지출을 줄인 것도 큰 영향이 있는 것 같습니다) 3. 위기에 대한 지원: 코로나 사태때 많은 선진국들은 긴급지출을 통해 많은 채무자/사업이 중단된 기업들을 구제했음. 이는 많은 이들이 경제적으로 붕괴하는 것을 막는데 성공했지만, 좀비기업이 구조조정되지 못하고 살아남는 등 경제가 위기에 덜 적응하는 효과를 만듦. 4. 그럼 원인은 무엇인가? 먼저 노령화되는 인구가 원인일 수 있음. 은퇴자/그 근처 연령인 이들은 더 부유해지는데 관심이 없고, 이민자에게 적대적이며, 신규주택건설에도 호의적이지 않음. (아마 도심지 재개발/재건축을 원치 않는다는 의미인듯) 경제개혁은 필연적으로 손해(피해?)를 보는 이들을 만들 수 밖에 없는데, 소셜 미디어의 발달은 개혁의 피해자를 더 조명함으로써 정책입안자가 소극적으로 행동하는 요인이 됨. 민간부채의 증가 역시 정책입안자가 소극적으로 행동하는 요인이 될 수 있음. 작은 변화도 채무자에게 큰 문제가 될수 있어, 금융위기의 도화선이 될 수 있음. 재미있는 관점을 제시해주는 기사인 것 같습니다. 노령화되는 인구가 원인이라면 한국은? 이라고 생각할수도 있는데, 한국의 노인인구는 후진국에서 선진국으로 급속성장을 한 것을 목격한 세대이고, 복지가 서유럽 대비 미비하기 때문에 근로욕구가 훨씬 강하며, 재건축/재개발에 더 적극적이라는게 차이일수 있겠네요. 다만 한국에서도 최근 몇년간 워라밸을 선호하는 문화가 확산이 되고, 보건지출이 급증하는 등 비슷한 현상이 있습니다. 특히 한국은 인구구조가 인류 역사상 최고속으로 빨리 늙고있기 때문에, 반대로 보면 그 어느나라보다 급속한 변혁을 강요받고 있다고 볼 수 있을텐데, 앞으로 한국인들이 어떻게 변화를 받아들이게 될 지도 궁금합니다. 페이월때문에 PDF로 복붙했는데 규정상 문제있으면 삭제하겠습니다.
