https://www.joongang.co.kr/article/25116381 ⌈사회적 유용성이라는 점에서 인문학의 필요를 정당화하기가 이렇게 어렵다. 경제가 불황인 시기에는 특히 그렇다. 그러면 어쩌라고? 차라리 인문학의 맛에 중독시키는 것은 어떨까. 아주 맛있는 음식을 먹고 있는데, 누군가 그 음식의 사회적 효용성이 무어냐고 다그치면, 그냥 이렇게 말하는 거다. 이거 한번 잡숴봐. 입안에 퍼지는 황홀한 맛을 보고 나면, 그 사람은 그 음식의 사회적 효용성 따지기를 그치고, 그저 함께 앉아 먹기 시작할 것이다. “난 아이를 낳지 않을 거야!” 어느 소설가는 원래 이 풍진 세상에 아이를 낳지 않겠다고 결심하고 있었다. 그런데, 남편이 다음과 같이 말하는 바람에 그 결심을 바꾸었다고 한다. “그런데 수박 맛 보여주고 싶지 않아?” 남편은 이 세상에 모순이나 고통이 없다고 설득한 것도 아니고, 출산이 갖는 사회적 효용을 역설한 것도 아니다. 그저 달콤하고 시원한 수박맛, 살아서 실제 먹어보지 않고는 상상이 어려운 그 맛에 대해서 이야기했을 뿐이다.⌋ ⌈오래전 졸업해서 지금은 어엿한 회사원이 된 옛 학생과 저녁 식사를 함께 한 적이 있다. 그는 담담하게 말했다. “대학 시절에 어렵지만 좋다는 인문학 수업들을 여기저기 애써 찾아다니며 들었는데, 그 체험을 잊을 수 없어요. 너무 흥미진진했어요. 텍스트를 꼼꼼히 읽자, 처음에는 보이지 않던 의미가 수면 위로 떠오를 때 느껴지던 그 지적 희열. 그 맛을 보았기에 졸업 후에도 책을 계속 읽을 수 있었고, 그 덕분에 졸업한 뒤에도 나 자신으로 살 수 있었어요.” 나는 이 이야기를 좋아한다.⌋ 맛있는 인문학 좋습니다. 참 맛있는데... 설명하기가, 권하기가 어렵네?? 교회의 인문학적 조직이라고 하면 성경공부/교육, 여름성경학교 뭐 이런게 있을텐데
산업적 조직에만 관심과 투자가 이뤄지고
