한국의 경제적 기반에 비해 낮은 수준은 결코 아닙니다. 주휴수당에 최저임금이 1만원대로 올라가면 사회적인 임금부담압력은 상당히 강해지는데(주휴수당도 최저시급을 따라가기때문에) 이에 대해 최저임금에 해당되는 저소득 계층의 실질소득이 어떤 식으로 수렴하는지 봐야합니다. 가령 최저임금이 높아지고 전체 임금이 줄어드는(근로시간 감소나 일자리 감소에의한) 악영향이 치명적인 이유는, 높아진 임금상승압력을 버티는 동안 저소득계층의 소비/투자 전환이 이전보다 더 활발하게 일어나야 한다는 일종의 가정을 무너뜨리기 때문이죠. 임금주도성장론은 통화정책과 같이 간다고 생각하고, 결국 화폐를 많이 뿌려서 인플레가 생긴다고 하지만 디플레보단 낫다, 인플레는 컨트롤할수있다(최근의 유행을보면) 이런 마인드가 같이 움직인다고 생각하는데 최저임금 뿐만 아니라 사회 전반적으로 임금 상승을 통화량의 증가로 이끌고 그게 다시 소비를 촉진하는 순환까지 이어지게 하는 다양한 장치 없이는 훼손되거나 무너지기 쉽다는 생각이 듭니다.
