스타2 출시 이후로 틈틈이 래더를 했습니다. 그리고 자유의 날개 이후로 5년 만에 다시 다이아까지 올라가는데 성공했구요... 제 생각엔 이 위로는 못 올라갈 것 같습니다. 아무튼 약 80 게임정도 승률 55~60% 정도의 노가다 플레이하여 다이아까지 오면서 느낀 점을 한마디로 표현하자면, '피지컬'게임이다. 라고 할 수 있겠습니다. 이전까지 날빌이 성공하면 상성에서 앞서는 빌드는 무조건적으로 잡아먹을 수 있었는데, 지금은 이러한 날빌이 성공하기가 극히 드뭅니다. 12일꾼 시작으로 자원수급이 빨라졌고, 그만큼 초반올인 플레이를 하기 쉬워졌지만, 오히려 정석적으로 플레이하면서 상대의 움직임에 대응하는 방식도 더욱 수월해졌기 때문에, 위로 올라갈 수록 초반 올인 빌드를 상대하기 보다는 정석 테크 플레이를 많이 만나게 되었습니다. 그러다보니, 최적화 중 하나씩 던져주는 견제플레이가 많아지는데, 이 소규모 견제를 막지 못하면 휘둘리다가 지기 십상입니다. 손이 빠를 수록 다방향 견제가 가능하고, 손이 느리면 이에 대응하기 힘들죠. 견제 하면서 또 병력 생산도 해줘야 합니다. 그렇지 않으면 견제를 꾸역꾸역 막고 그때까지 모은 한 방 병력으로 치고 나가는 플레이가 성립할 수 없거든요. 견제로 상대가 내 일꾼을 많이 잡으면 애초에 게임 자체가 빠른 자원 수급 속도에 기반하고 있기 때문에 자원 수급 속도를 쫓아가지 못하고 한방 병력은 어영부영 막히게 되는상황이 빈번하게 일어납니다. 이러한 상황을 극복하기 위해서는 상대의 견제를 효율적으로 막아야 하는데, 그러기 위해서는 빠른 손놀림이 필요합니다... 견제 위주의 플레이가 가능해진 건 새로 추가된 유닛들이 견제 플레이에 능하기 때문인데, 프로토스의 사도, 테란의 해방선 같은 경우는 빠른 이동 속도 및 빠른 일꾼 살상 능력을 지녔고, 저그의 궤멸충 같은 경우에는 데미지를 무시할 수 없는 원거리 포격 능력을 지녔죠 ... 견제 뿐만 아니라 교전 상황에서도 컨트롤 해줘야 하는 유닛이 정말 많아졌습니다. 맷집 역할을 해주는 유닛들을 던져주고 필요한 유닛만 컨트롤 해준다고 해도 그 필요한 유닛의 가짓수가 많아졌어요. 제가 프로토스 플레이어라서 프로토스 시점으로만 말씀드리면, 추적자는 점멸쓰면서 의료선이나 해방선을 끊어줘야 하고, 병력 상대로는 분열기나 고위기사를 써줘야 합니다. 경우에 따라서는 수호방패나 역장도 쳐줘야 하고, 시간 왜곡도 써야 하구요... 고수 분들께서는 효율적으로 하시겠지만, 제 손놀림으로는 머리로는 알겠는데 몸이 못따라가는 플레이가 계속되서 답답할 때가 참 많습니다... 프로게이머들의 경기를 보는 것은 그야말로 눈이 즐겁긴 합니다만,,, 직접 플레이할 때는 프로게이머들과의 경기에서 한~~ 참 먼 게임을 하고 있다는 걸 느낍니다.. 자유의 날개 보다 더 어려운 게임이 되어버렸어요. 신규 유저는 거의 없고 복귀 유저들은 좀 많을 것으로 예상됩니다. 당연한 말을 주절주절 하긴 했는데, 사실 스타2는 저한테 참 애증의 RTS라서 관심을 끊을 수가 없네요.. 워3 래더 45렙인가 이후로 벽을 느껴서 잘 안하다가, 2010년에 스타2 가 처음 나왔을 때 군대 가기 한 달 전에 딱 한 달만 결제하고 (당시에 9,900원인가 그랬을 겁니다.) 다이아 찍고 뿌듯하게 군대 갔었고, 전역 이후로는 집에 컴퓨터 사양이 쫓아가지 못해서 피씨방에서만 간간히 즐기곤 했는데, 그 때 받았던 느낌은 '아 예전에는 됐는데 이제는 왜 안돼지... 결국 나의 한계는 여기까지 인건가...' 하는 안타까움이었는데, 그래도 다시 다이아까지 오게 되어서 저 나름대로는 목표 달성해서 뿌듯합니다. 다이아 올려둔 뒤에는 라이트하게 팀플이랑 협동전만 하고 있어요. 어차피 마스터는 못갈거라...ㅠ
