대구포는 과거부터 고급 안주였습니다.
대구를 간장 양염을 해서 비떡하게 말리면 그 맛이 일품이지요.

진짜 대구로 포를 잘 만들면 예나 지금이나 상당히 비쌉니다.
쥐치는 과거에는 비료로 썻다는 이야기도 있지만 남해안에서는 횟감으로도 사용한 물고기 입니다.

쥐치라고 이름을 붙은 이유는 찍찍 소리를 내어서 그렇다고 합니다.
(그렇다고 소리를 직접 들은 것은 아닙니다.)
1970년대에 쥐치를 가공해서 만든 쥐포는 선풍적인 인기를 끌었습니다.
(그리고 이전에는 좀 흔했던 대구는 대략 80년대가 되면서 부터 구경도하기 힘들 정도로 귀해졌습니다. )
쥐포를 이 쥐치를 포를 떠서 간장,설탕, 조미료가 포함된 액체에 담그었다가 말리는 것인데,
엄청난 인기를 끌었습니다.
얼마나 인기가 있었는가하면, 84년 LA올림픽 때 국가대표선수들이 선수촌에서 구워먹다가
외국인들이 물어보니 Snack이라고 이야기 했는데, Snake로 알아 들어서
한국선수들은 뱀고기를 먹는다고 뉴스에 나왔을 정도이지요.
(서양사람들은 오징어도 구워먹는 것을 엄청 싫어합니다. 사람 타는 냄세가 난다고... 사람 타는 냄세는 언제 맞아보았냐...)
이렇게 쥐치가 선풍적으로 인기를 끌면서 쥐치는 멸종위기에 이르게 됩니다.
큰 쥐치는 손바닥보다 큰데, 이런 녀석으로 포를 만들면 좋지만 이런 녀석들은 횟감으로도 인기가 있어서,
실제로 쥐치를 만드는 공장에서는 손가락 세마디 정도의 쥐치를 잘라서 포를 만들더군요.
(극한직업이나 베트남 쥐포공장을 방문한 다큐가 있습니다.)
손가락 세마디 정도 크기의 쥐치를 5마리 정도 포를 떠서 쥐포한장을 만들었으니...
쥐치가 씨가 마를 수 밖에 없지요.
그래서 어느 순간 국산 쥐포는 고가의 술안주가 되어 버리고, 서민들은 베트남산 쥐포만 먹을 수 있는 지경이 되어 버립니다.
(아직도 남해안에 전화로만 주문을 받는 전설의 쥐포공장이 있더군요.)
어릴적 쥐포맛을 잊지 못하는 사람들이 베트남 여행가서 쥐포공장을 수배해서 쥐포를 사오는 경우도 보기는 했을 정도로
과거에 쥐포는 엄청난 인기였습니다.
그리고 대구는 인공부화에 성공함으로서 겨울이면 생대구탕을 맛있게 먹을 수 있는 수준까지 어획고가 올랐습니다.
(대신 연안의 명태는 멸종지경이라서 명태 인공부화에 신경을 쓰고 있지요. )
결론은 10년전 일식집에서 먹은 대구포가 너무 맛있어서 댓글을 썻습니다.

진짜 대구로 포를 잘 만들면 예나 지금이나 상당히 비쌉니다.
쥐치는 과거에는 비료로 썻다는 이야기도 있지만 남해안에서는 횟감으로도 사용한 물고기 입니다.
(조그마한 물고기는 과거에 다 비료로 썻습니다. 아메리카 인디언은 랍스터를 비료로 썻다고 하더군요.)
쥐치라고 이름을 붙은 이유는 찍찍 소리를 내어서 그렇다고 합니다.
(그렇다고 소리를 직접 들은 것은 아닙니다.)
1970년대에 쥐치를 가공해서 만든 쥐포는 선풍적인 인기를 끌었습니다.
(그리고 이전에는 좀 흔했던 대구는 대략 80년대가 되면서 부터 구경도하기 힘들 정도로 귀해졌습니다. )
쥐포를 이 쥐치를 포를 떠서 간장,설탕, 조미료가 포함된 액체에 담그었다가 말리는 것인데,
엄청난 인기를 끌었습니다.
얼마나 인기가 있었는가하면, 84년 LA올림픽 때 국가대표선수들이 선수촌에서 구워먹다가
외국인들이 물어보니 Snack이라고 이야기 했는데, Snake로 알아 들어서
한국선수들은 뱀고기를 먹는다고 뉴스에 나왔을 정도이지요.
(서양사람들은 오징어도 구워먹는 것을 엄청 싫어합니다. 사람 타는 냄세가 난다고... 사람 타는 냄세는 언제 맞아보았냐...)
이렇게 쥐치가 선풍적으로 인기를 끌면서 쥐치는 멸종위기에 이르게 됩니다.
큰 쥐치는 손바닥보다 큰데, 이런 녀석으로 포를 만들면 좋지만 이런 녀석들은 횟감으로도 인기가 있어서,
실제로 쥐치를 만드는 공장에서는 손가락 세마디 정도의 쥐치를 잘라서 포를 만들더군요.

손가락 세마디 정도 크기의 쥐치를 5마리 정도 포를 떠서 쥐포한장을 만들었으니...
쥐치가 씨가 마를 수 밖에 없지요.
그래서 어느 순간 국산 쥐포는 고가의 술안주가 되어 버리고, 서민들은 베트남산 쥐포만 먹을 수 있는 지경이 되어 버립니다.
(아직도 남해안에 전화로만 주문을 받는 전설의 쥐포공장이 있더군요.)
어릴적 쥐포맛을 잊지 못하는 사람들이 베트남 여행가서 쥐포공장을 수배해서 쥐포를 사오는 경우도 보기는 했을 정도로
과거에 쥐포는 엄청난 인기였습니다.
그리고 대구는 인공부화에 성공함으로서 겨울이면 생대구탕을 맛있게 먹을 수 있는 수준까지 어획고가 올랐습니다.
(대신 연안의 명태는 멸종지경이라서 명태 인공부화에 신경을 쓰고 있지요. )
결론은 10년전 일식집에서 먹은 대구포가 너무 맛있어서 댓글을 썻습니다.
