-- PC 방에 관해 -- 걸어서 5분 거리에 대형 백화점과 CGV영화관이 있는 나름 시내 한복판에 위치한 피시방인데 사장이 유행에 민감하지 않은 영감이라 PC방 사양이 보급형에 머물러 있어서 최신 게임 즐기러 오는 사람은 적고 단골 손님이 대부분임 사장이 직접 부품을 고르지는 않고 일정 시기마다 완제품을 세트로 사오는 모양인데 (용팔X한테 당한걸로 추정) 최신형을 싸게 구입했다며 자랑스럽게 보여준 컴퓨터 그래픽 카드로 GTX 750TI 박혀 있는거 보고 어이없었다. --- 가족같이 일한 사람들 ---------- 1. 사장 - 60대 영감. 3주차 까지는 사이 좋았는데 4주차 부터 사이 험악해지기 시작하더니 나중에는 서로 말 한마디 안하고 지냄 (전부 믿을 순 없지만) 들려준 말에 따르면 어렸을 적에 금수저 물고 태어나서 그 시절 가기 힘들다는 대학 나와서 대기업에 취직까지 했다는 대~단한 자부심을 가지고 있다. 지금은 PC 70대 규모의 영세한 PC방 운영하며 세월을 보내는 중 영감이 퇴근할 때가 내가 출근하는 시간인데 나는 항상 정시 10분 일찍 왔었는데 영감이 기분 좋을때는 뭐이리 빨리 오냐고 반겨주고 기분 별로일 때는 일찍일찍 다니라고 O랄했다. 특이한 건 매일 막걸리 2병씩 마심. 막걸리를 마시지 않으면 잠이 안 온다고 한다. + 새벽에 자다 깨면 핸드폰 앱을 통해 CCTV로 나를 감시한다. 이 때 게임하고 있으면 전화로 0랄함. (면접 볼 때 새벽에 한가하면 게임해도 된다고 했었음. 손님 한 명도 없었는데 게임했다고 0랄함) 2. 사장 부인 - 50대. 그나마 말이 통하는 사람. 이 아줌마 덕분에 안 짤릴수 있었음. 아침 일찍 와서 나랑 같이 피방 청소하면서 영감 흉을 본다. 3. 사장 딸 - 고등학교 2학년. 피C방 건물 위층에 살고 있어서 가끔 학교가는 길에 피방에 들리거나 학교 끝나고 피방에 와서 게임하는 경우가 있다. 영감의 딸이라곤 믿기지 않을 정도로 착하다. 1주일에 3번꼴로 PC방에 와서 과자나 빵+우유를 사준다. ..가끔 급전이 필요할 때 와서는 돈 빌려달라고 한다. 물론 내 돈을 주는 건 아니고 카운터에 있는 돈을 꺼내주면 되는데 이걸 영감한테 보고하면 X나 욕먹는 반면 사장 부인한테 말하면 별말 없다. 4. 주말 도와주는 알바 형 - 이 피시방은 평일에는 사람이 없는데 희안하게 주말만 되면 헬게이트가 열린다. 때문에 주말은 2명에서 근무한다. 나이는 나보다 5살 많았고 지방대 컴공과를 졸업했다고 하는데 취직이 안 되어 지금은.. 주말에는PC방 알바를 하고 평일에는 트럭 몰고 농산물 장사를 한다. 가을에는 과일. 그 외에 계절에는 채소를 주로 다룬다. 상태가 좋은 과일을 입수해서 좋은 가격에 팔았을 때는 신이 나서 떠들지만 손해를 볼 때는 시무룩한 표정으로 말없이 일하는 귀여운 형.. 가끔 같이 과일팔러 다니지 않겠냐고 권유하기도 한다. 이 형은 오후 4시 ~ 12시 사이만 일하는데 12시에 퇴근할 때는 꼭 나한테 무언가 하나를 사주고 갔다. 품질이 좋은 과일을 고르는 법이나 산지 직송 판매의 고단함 등을 재미나게 얘기하는 재주를 가지고 있으며 같이 장사하는 아는 형 최모씨(30)의 장사수완이 못 미덥다는 말을 종종 한다. 특별한 일거리가 없을 때는 2~3명에 친구들을 대동하고 피C방에 놀러온다. 5. 평일 오후 알바 여학생 A -영감이랑 같이 일하는 여자애. 나랑 동갑이라고 한다. 사실 처음 봤을 때는 나보다 3살 정도 많아 보여서 존댓말을 썼다. 나중에 친해지고 나서 첫 인상 얘기를 했는데 솔직히 "20대 중반인줄 알았다."라고 했다가 1주일 간 서로 쌩까고 지냈던 적이 있다. 유아교육학과를 다니며 유치원 교사가 꿈이라고 한다. 기본적으로 엄청 착한 녀석. 손님이 많으면 퇴근 시간이 되도 퇴근하지 않고 나를 도와준다. 6. 발랑까진 평일 오전 알바 누나 - 27살 오전에 나랑 근무 교대하는 고마운 존재... 는 아니고. 이 누나가 정시에 도착한 경우는 손가락에 꼽을 정도로 적어서 종종 짜증을 유발한다. 올 때 보면 항상 껌을 씹고 있다. 친해지고 나서 이름을 알려줬는데 발음하기 어렵다며 이상한 말로 비꼬아서 부른다. 겉으로 드러나는 태도는 상당히 불량하지만 할 때는 하는 사람이다. 금/토/일 밤에 시내에 나가면 높은 확률로 이 누나를 만날 수 있다. ------- 손님 ------------- 1. 리니지 아저씨 : PC방에서 나가기나 하는지 의문인 남자. 40대 중반으로 보이는데 후미진 구석 자리에서 항상 모자를 눌러쓰고 있어서 얼굴 파악이 힘들다. 항상 같은 옷을 입고 있다. 1주일 단위로 옷이 바뀐다. 게임 시간을 충전할 때 한번에 5만원씩 쓴다. 엄청난 쿨가이로 진열대에 있는 물건을 마구 가져가서 바코드도 찍지 않고 그냥 먹는다.. 이런 건 달아뒀다가 나갈 때 한꺼번에 계산한다. PC방이 아무리 붐벼도 웬일인지 이 아저씨 옆 자리에는 아무도 앉으려고 하지 않는다.. 2. 던파 청년 : 정말 특이한 인간. 새벽 3시 - 4시 사이에 출몰한다. 도대체 뭐하는 사람인지 궁금해질 지경으로. 던파 접속해서 던전 한두판 돌고 그대로 책상에 엎드려서 누워있다가 커피하나 뽑아먹고 나간다. (새벽 인력시장 나가는 사람으로 추정) 3. 바둑(?)두는 청년 : 이쪽도 불가사의 하기는 마찬가지. 넷마블? 바둑? 같은 걸 하는 모양인데. 항상 컴퓨터를 2대 켜서 무슨 매크로를 돌린다. 실제 플레이 시간은 30분도 채 되지 않는데. 카운터에서 무슨 쿠폰을 왕창 가져다 쓴다. 나갈 때 항상 "수고하세요-"라는 인삿말을 건넨다. 4. 아이온 오타쿠 : 머리를 화려한 금발로 물들였는데 생긴게 전형적인 오타쿠인 그런 사람. 오후 10시 ~ 새벽3시 사이에 출몰. 카운터에서 자신의 화면이 가장 잘 보이는 위치에 앉는다. 거기를 자신의 지정석으로 여기며 다른 사람이 그 자리에 앉으면 불쾌감을 대놓고 드러낸다. 이 사람의 특징은 내가 좀 한가해 보이면 카운터에 와서 자기 자랑을 늘여놓는다. 대부분 아이온에 관한 것으로. 난 아이온을 해보지 않아서 알아듣지도 못하는데 뭐가 몇 강이니 자기가 랭킹 몇이니 이번에 나온 신 캐릭터 전망이 어떠니 같은 이야기를 떠들어댄다. 가끔 아이온이 질리면 애니메이션을 보기도 한다. 웃긴 건. 자기도 창피한 건 아는지 헤드셋을 끼고 보는데 에니매이션 대사를 따라하면서 본다는 점이다.. 애니메이션을 감명깊게 보면 카운터에 와서 나한테 애니에 대해 이런저런 얘기를 하는건 덤. 어째서인지 나를 친한 친구로 여겼다.. 나중에 나이를 물어봤더니 28살이라고 했다. 나보다 8살 많은 형.. 친한 친구끼리 왜이러냐며 서비스를 강요한다. 5. 서든하는 누나 : 오후 11시에 와서 정확히 2시간만 하고 나가는 여자다. 너무 어려 보여서 처음에는 민증 검사까지 헀는데 알고보니 나보다 3살 많은 누나였다. 정말 조용조용히 게임하는 스타일. 아무런 접점도 없었는데 뜬금없이 음료수를 사줘서 놀라기도 했다. 무표정한 얼굴로 음료수 2개 사더니 하나 건네면서 마셔요. 감기에 걸리면 휴지를 엄청나게 많이 소모한다... 거의 캐릭터 죽을 때마다 코를 품. 6. 어깨형님 4인방 : 헬스를 다니는지 덩치가 엄청 좋은 남자 4명이 1주일에 4일 꼴로 온다. 밤 9시쯤에 와서 새벽 늦게까지 게임하다 간다. ..솔직히 제일 민폐손님. 과자를 엄청 많이 사는데 그중 절반을 주변에 흘린다... 이들이 다녀간 자리는 개판이 된다. 주로 서든을 하며 게임이 잘 안풀릴 때는 큰 소리로 거침없이 쌍욕을 내뱉는다. 클랜전? 같은 걸 하는 모양인데 간혹 분위기가 험악해질 때는 현피 어쩌고 하는 얘기까지 나오기도 한다. 그래도 심성은 착한 사람들인지 언제 한번 어떤 아제가 이들에게 시끄럽다고 O랄한 적이 있는데 고개를 꾸벅 숙이며 죄송합니다. 하고 입닥쳤던 게 기억에 남아있다. 7. TV보는 모녀 ...집에 컴퓨터도 TV도.. 스마트폰도 없는지 20대/ 40대로 보이는 모녀가 오전 7시 ~ 9시 사이에 와서 컴퓨터 하나로 드라마를 본다. (장애인 비하 의도 없음) 엄마는 멀쩡하게 생겼는데 딸은 어디 불편한 사람처럼 생겼다. 말도 어눌하게 하고 사람의 시선을 받으면 어쩔 줄 몰라한다. 이들을 지켜보면서 웬지 모르게 가슴이 짠했었다. 돈을 지갑에서 꺼내는 게 아니라. 주머니에서 꾸깃해진 천원짜리를 건네거나 가끔 500원 100원 짜리를 그러모아 주기도 한다. PC방에 알바생 먹으라고 비치된 간식을 남겨놨다가 이 모녀가 오면 자판기 커피와 함께 종종 내어주었다. 8. TV보는 아제 : 40대 초반. 일용직 전전하시는 아재. 하루종일 일하고 PC방에서 지난 드라마나 버라이어티 프로그램 보는 게 삶의 낙이라고 말하셨다. 컴퓨터 조작이 상당히 미숙하여 나를 부르는 일이 자주있다. 가끔 재미난 드라마를 볼 때면 감탄사나 적절한 욕설을 내뱉으신다. 재밌게 보고나면 웃음 꽃을 활짝 피우시며 PC방 문을 나선다. 9. 워크 무한도전 팀 : 11시부터 새벽 5시 사이에 출몰하는 유쾌한 사람들. 항상 술에 쩔어있는 상태로 등장하며 뭐가 그리도 기분이 좋은지 언제나 웃는 얼굴이다. 이들은 워크 유즈맵을 주로 하는데 장르를 불문하고 모든 유즈맵을 즐기기로 작정한 사람들처럼 보인다. 워크 유즈맵으로 술값이나 게임값 내기를 즐겨하는데 이들의 플레이에는 배신과 음모가 판친다. 가끔 카운터에 와서 은밀한 목소리로 몇 번 자리 재부팅 시켜주면 안 되겠냐고 제안하기도 한다. 나갈 때는 꼴찌를 기록한 사람이 다른 사람의 것까지 전부 계산한다. 10. 아프리카 누나 : 20대 초반? 우리 PC방 손님 미모 2위 움직임이 편한 반바지를 입고 의자 위에서 양반다리를 하고 앉아 있어서 맨 다리가 훤히 다 들여다보인다. 이런 꼴로 통로쪽에 앉아 있어서 남자들이 지나가면서 한번 씩 쳐다본다. 본인은 전혀 개의치않는 모양. 아프리카 TV인지 뭔지 잘 모르겠는데 아무튼 인터넷 방송을 하거나 화상 채팅을 한다. 헤드셋을 쓰고 애교섞인 목소리로 대화하는데 그 목소리가 어찌나 요염한지 이 누나의 목소리를 듣기 위해 주위에 남성들이 단결하여 컴퓨터 불륨을 줄이는 기현상이 벌어지기도 한다. 자판기 커피를 엄청 많이 마신다. 1시간에 5잔 정도 11. 백화점 누나 : PC방 외모 원탑. 20대 후반이라고 하는데 직접 들은 건 아니다. 이 사람이 백화점 사람이라는 건 친구를 통해서 알게 됬다. 백화점 판매직원 중에서도 미모를 가장 많이 본다는 메인 화장품 코너를 맡고 있다고 한다. 그래서인지 절대 혼자서 PC방에 오는 일이 없고 항상 남자를 대동하고 온다. 2인 커플석에서 남자랑 크레이지 아케이드랑 버블 파이트(?) 카트 라이더 같은 아기자기한 게임을 주로 한다. 12. 스타크래프트 아제 : 일명 '라면 감별사' 정수리 부분이 훤히 드러나 있어서 나이를 알기 어려운 아제.. 무슨 일을 하시는지 오후 10시쯤에 양복을 입고 와서 새벽 1~2시까지 스타크래프트를 하신다. 이 아저씨는 항상 라면을 주문하는데 매일 종류가 바뀐다. 맛있게 끓여진 날에는 국물을 쭉~ 들이키며 "아으~ 어흠" 하는 시원스러운 효과음을 내뱉어 괜시레 흐뭇한 기분이 들게 만들어주는 반면 영 볼품없이 끓인 날에는 퉁퉁 불어터진 면이 한가득 담긴 사발을 그대로 자리에 놓아두어 씁쓸한 기분이 든다. 13. '양극성 장애' 롤 청년 : 새벽 1시 이후에 등장. 나이는 25살. 그 외에 정보는 전혀 없다. 사적인 것을 물어보면 대화를 회피하는 모습을 보인다. 게임하면서 혼잣말을 가장 많이 하는 사람이다. 게임이 잘 풀리거나 연승할 때는 노래를 흥얼거리며 승급전에 성공이라도 하면 자리에 벌떡 일어나서 양손으로 얼굴을 쓸어내리며 기쁨을 주체하지 못 하는 모습을 보이기도 한다. 두리번거리며 승리의 기쁨을 나눌 누군가를 애타게 찾지만.. 애시당초 평일 새벽1시에 PC방에 상주하는 사람은 얼마 있지도 않은데다 다들 자기 할 일 바쁘기 때문에.. 결국 카운터로 와서 나한테 하소연한다...기분이 내키면 내게 음료수를 사주기도 한다. ..이 사람의 문제는 게임이 잘 안풀릴때 드러난다. "에이 열여덟"은 기본이고 혼잣말로 패드립까지 한다. "엄마 죽은 아이들 채팅을 들여다 본 적은 없지만.. 안 봐도 비디오다. 욕설 및 트롤로 제재를 상당히 자주 당했는지 본인도 제재에 달관한 모양이다. "아 또 정지네 신발.." 이래놓고 5분 뒤에 보면 부캐로 게임하고 있는 그를 볼 수 있다. 화가 나면 얼굴이 빨갛게 달아오른다. 리니지 아제처럼 사람들은 이 사람이 옆에 앉는걸 싫어한다. 게임하다가 이 사람이 근처에 앉으면 카운터에 자리요청을 신청한다.. ..본인은 롤에 재능이 있으며 좀 만 노력하면 프로도 노려볼 수 있지만 평범한 게이머에 만족하는 위치에 있다고 한다... 티어는 플래티넘 1 이 사람과 대화하는건 별로 유쾌하지 않아서 나는 롤을 자주 하면서도 롤에 대해 문외한인척 했다. 14. 백인 형 : 진짜 백인은 아니고 피부가 우윳빛처럼 정말 새하얗다. 얼굴도 매우 잘생겼다. 안타깝게도 키는 많이 작다. 깔창을 꼈는지 어땠는지 모르겠지만 그것을 고려해도 170을 넘기지 않아 보인다. 나는 게이가 아닌데도 이 형을 본 순간 본능적으로 약간 끌림? 같은 걸 느꼈다. 그냥 막연히 친해지고 싶다는 생각이 들었다. 롤이랑 와우를 하는데. 와우는 길드에 출석체크 하는 정도로 가볍게 즐기고 주로 롤을 한다. 위 양극성 장애 청년과 비교되는 사람으로 엄청난 즐겜유저다. 이 사람이 욕하는 걸 단 한 번도 못 봤다. 매우 친절한 사람으로 주문한 걸 가져다줄 때 마다 고맙다는 말을 반드시 한다. 심지어 롤에서 일전일대의 엄청난 한타가 벌어지고 있는 와중에서 눈을 마주보며 고마워. 라고 말한다. 게임이 이기든 지든 신경쓰지 않으며 게임 그 자체를 즐긴다. 나중에 친구가 말해줬는데 이 사람도 백화점에서 일한다고 했다. 5층 의류쪽에서 일한다고. --------- 친구를 가장한 적 -------- 헬스청년 김 모씨 : 백화점 보안요원 일과 헬스를 병행하는 성실한 청년이었으나. 보안요원일에 비전이 없다고 판단해 그만둔 후.. 폐인이 되어버린 녀석. 헬스는 여전히 다니지만 그것 뿐이다. 나머지 시간은 내가 일하는 곳에서 보낸다. 오후 8시쯤에 등장해서 내가 퇴근하기 직전까지 PC방에서 게임하다가 간다. 리니지 아제에 비견될 만큼 빠른 속도로 PC방 마일리지를 쌓는 모습을 영감이 CCTV로 보더니 "젊은 놈이 벌써부터 쯧쯧..." 라며 모욕적인 말을 이어서 했다. 물론. 저 폐인이 내 친구일 줄은 꿈에도 몰라서 한 말이겠지만.. 이 일화를 친구한테 얘기했더니 그떄부터 PC방에 와서 행패를 부리기 시작했다. 이 친구가 하는 보복이란건 영감이 일하는 시간에 라면을 바닥에 쏟거나 스피커 불륨을 엄청 크~게 키워서 시끄러운 노래를 틀거나 위협적으로 컴퓨터 책상을 주먹으로 두들기는 것 정도인데. 영감은 더럽고 귀찮은 일은 모두 오후 알바생A한테 떠넘기기 때문에 결국 알바A만 고생했다. 나중에 알바녀A가 진상 손님 있다고 내게 하소연 한 뒤.
